I am having a great day. I played pickleball this morning and had such a good time. My friend Donna and I are the weakest players in the group of 5 who played today. The others are much better than we are. We won a game playing together. It went into extra points and we won 13 to 11 (normally 11 is a game but you have to win by 2 points). It was the only game Donna won today and it was such a wonderful feeling to be able to play so well. I really don't care if a win I just want to play well but it was so rewarding to see Donna win against such tough competition.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Had a very busy 1-1/2 days in the Phoenix area, and for a change I did not GAIN weight like I usually do down there. I know I gain because I do not have the opportunity to take my walks (too hot) but this time I guess I got in enough exercise to make up for it. Trying to get furniture from George's home to my home and vice versa -- don't most women prefer their own furniture rather than using another woman's choices? I'm no exception. So I want mine in HIS house.

Will try to rent mine out as a vacation rental. Is anyone interested? Phoenix is wonderful during the winter months.

I'm trying to get my sleep back halfway normal after being in the camper. I slept all Sunday afternoon when we got home and took a Tylenol PM for Sunday night and slept late yesterday so was up a bit too early this morning. But I feel okay; ask me how I am around 11:00 though, LOL.

Seems like there is always something unhealthy with something in the food line that we like. Makes you wonder what you really should be eating - unless you grew it yourself -- but of course if that happens to be meat products, we're only allowed about 3 oz. right? lol

Volunteer work is good. I have not done my share this summer while being up in the mountains. But I do file books at the Library when I happen to go in.

Have to look for the Sara Lee 45 cal bread here. I used the Pepperidge Farm thin slice bread for years. I think was about 45 calories, but then I read all of the awful studies about the HFCS ingredient..and stopped purchasing it...after reading the label.

Home and the birthday party over had two bar bq ribs, green bean, grilled potatoes, dark green leaf salad, beets that's it for had to have a piece of cake and that was probably the total calories for that meal. Must of been at least 45 five there and whoa watching what the ate didn't hurt my body but my mind that I remember when... emoticon

I do the open-faced sandwich bit all the time, about the only time I do two slices of bread is when I make my bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches, and then I use the turkey bacon. I'm sold on the double fibre bread, it's what I've been buying the last several days. I like the idea of the 45-calorie per slice bread that Sara Lee makes but just can't afford to pay the outrageous price on it.

Barb, what a great idea (or make "half" a sandwich (open face with a bit fewer ingredients and then folded over) for even more savings!

87! Wow. Hope it's fun.

We just got back from our camping, it was great.

Giving myself a pat on the back....figured out day before yesterday, that I could save myself 80 calories by fixing an open face sandwich! I really didn't miss the extra piece of bread.

Last night as I was taking my dog for her evening walk I saw a lady busy putting things out for a 'yard' sale today -- in our area it is safe to leave the stuff out overnight, no one would think of stealing anything. I saw she had a bag with perhaps 30 or more spools of thread in various colors (the big ones) so I asked the price. $3.00 she tells me. I said, "Honey, you've just made your first sale." I went back over this morning and paid for them -- one of the many reasons I love being up in the mountains for the summer, it's a whole different breed of people than down in the big city.

It was a wonderful 72 degrees as I was taking my morning walk. At this rate I hope summer never ends.

Eve,

I went really short this summer and it really is so easy to take care of. I am so past wanting to spend time on my hair. I am not 100% happy with the cut but think with a few modifications, it may be my permanent hair style.

Well I see that life has been going on OK without me hounding everyone (lol) -- but I'm so happy now that I am hooked up to the miracle of wireless internet and now I can check on my emails from SP all day long again. It's really tough to try and get it all done in one hour at the Library.

Did my running around for 2 days in the hot Phoenix area -- got the necessary paperwork I needed from the court to apply for a renewal of my passport, and it only took like 10 minutes, then I drove directly to the P.O. in Sun City where they have a passport office, they even take the photo's for you! So that was done with time to spare -- I had time to go by the beauty salon and had a haircut -- love it when it is super short, so easy to take care of too!

Hope everyone is having a terrific week! Eve

Don't remember what the paint color said, something like Butternut (but there was too much peachy color to suit my taste. You can't trust the lighting in Lowe's evidently -- it looked much better in the store. I'm going to look at it again today and may tone it down a bit with some faux painting, I think I have a tan that might look good over it.

Another hot day in Phoenix, but by mid-afternoon I may be able to head back up to the mountains. At least my dog will now have a doggy door to use even if I am at my BF's home. That will make me feel so much better during the day. At night she sleeps under my bed and doesn't move until I get up for the day -- so don't have to worry about her at night.

Have a good day everyone! Eve

Congratulations on the good check-up, and good for you too, Margo, for being able to lower the weight on your drivers license (and not having to wear glasses!)

Today I found myself with a "free" day -- nothing planned, no appts. and decided to make good use of it. I went to Lowe's, bought a gallon of paint and decided to paint the guest bathroom. I have no idea why I chose the color that I did, it seemed much different in the store. But like it or not, I had just paid about $27 for it, so it was going on the wall! Got it all redone, rehung the towels, etc. and it really doesn't look as bad as I had feared it would. It's kind of funny really because I had a paint swatch and the color was all marked, but when I got to the store I decided it was not a good color and I got the other one. All I can say is "live and learn" -- and, always go with your first choice. I quite obviously had good reason to pick the first color, so why change my mind at the store? Duh!

Just got home from Motor Vehicles and renewing my license. Was rewarding when they flashed the information on the computer screen to be able to tell them to take 15 pounds off the old license weight. I can still see too, don't have to wear glasses to drive.
