Hi Flo -- think most people are on vacation or doing stuff. Just plain HOT!

Arizona is definitely a LOW HUMIDITY state, but cool? Not on your life. In some of the Northern regions such as Prescott, Sedona, Payson it is quite nice in the summer -- not in the Southern part of the state!

Good Morning Eve - Looks like your the only one posting lately. Guess I'm guilty also. I check the site and if there are no new posts, I just go on.
I think we are going to have hot weather but not as bad as you have. I always thought Az was sorta a cool state with low humidity.
Well have a nice day
Hugs Flo

July is nearly over and soon we will all be talking about fall! Although it's kind of hard to be in the mood for the trees changing color and pumpkins and the big Thanksgiving meal -- especially when it's 110+ and the PLUS is a big one!

I for one am eagerly looking forward to the cooler fall days, but here in Phoenix I'm afraid that will not happen until October. Oh well!

Don't forget to weigh in everyone -- That will be this Saturday -- let's all do our monthly weigh in!
Hugs to all -- Eve

Had breakfast with a girlfriend this morning, and she was telling me that she and her soon-to-be-hubby have bought a little getaway place in the mountains! They are closing on it tomorrow, and now it's time to shop for furniture. I even her soooo much, as I have wanted to do that for the longest time. It is only around 100 miles to the mountains from here and when I drove up last week it was only 79 degrees up there. My dog would absolutely LOVE it, and SO WOULD I! Maybe next year, especially if real estate prices stay down as they have been.

I can hardly believe that we are in the LAST WEEK of July. Before you know it we'll be talkin' about the big bird -- and then Christmas! Wow!

Of course in my little world, I'm still complaining about the hot weather. I have a hard time motivating myself when the temps climb like this. Today after much discussion back and forth in my mind, the better half finally won a round and I made my way out to the car and over to the gym. I had a terrific workout on the treadmill and on some of the machines, then a refreshing walk in the pool and a few pool exercises.

Tonight my favorite TV show comes on, and it's the final night, The Bachelorette. Don't groan, it's cute! Oh, and yesterday I was a film that was soooo funny called "The Ugly Truth."

I suppose it depends a little bit on the pet's age too, but what you're doing certainly sounds reasonable to me.

I was born in MN and raised there. Then at 17 I moved to S. California. Lived there for a LONG time, but eventually ended up in Las Vegas, NV and retired in AZ. I wouldn't know how to handle humidity any longer, so have to put up with the high temps. Of course if there was a way for me to relocate to one of the mountainous areas within 100 miles I could be enjoying four-seasons once again, and a more moderate climate all the way around. I'm trying to get to that point.

Good Morning - Scotmama - Its wierd weather isn't it, you have it so hot and we have it cool - in the 60's and 70's, plus a lot of rain.
I've been taking my gizzie for walks to get him retrained to potty outside. Since his accident, he doesn't seem to have control. The vet thinks it might be nerve damage, but I'm still going to keep walking him in hopes something will work.
Well, have a nice day
Hugs, Flo

Yesterday was the first day is ever so long that it was cool enough for me to take my Scottie for a walk, and watching her romp around in the park it made me sad to think how that sort of thing has to end with the high summer temperatures. Although it is too hot (especially the sidewalks) to walk your dog over to the local park, I was thinking perhaps I could put her in the car and at least 3 times each week, drive over to the park just before sundown and let her romp around a bit. The temperatures are just so high here, over 110 -- that even a dog could suffer heat stroke. It doesn't cool off to any great degree at nighttime either. The coolest time of the day is still first thing in the morning of course. Too hot to walk, but perhaps I could drive her to the park to run!

Glad to see you back here and posting, Jack! As you are one of our 'regulars' of course we hate to see you go on vacation -- but the good thing is it's always so nice when you come back!

I'm envious of the beautiful scenery and the weather you must have enjoyed. I'll definitely have to figure out a vacation as a special Christmas present to myself.

Glad your trip was a good one. The scenery is very pretty up there. I'm orginally from Pa., and at times I miss the mountains, etc. Fall is really beautiful.

Morning. Jack is back. Had a good trip up the Blue Ridge Parkway and stayed in Virginia a few days. Good weather and nice scenery. Hope all is well with everyone. Gained but now back on track.

Blessings from Georgia,
Jack

You are so right, Flo -- I did not post on Sunday or Monday! And I was just being lazy, but it's so hot here in the Phoenix area it's hard to drum up energy to do much of anything. I dread having to leave the house and go out into the heat, although I did go out for breakfast with a friend. And today is my usual weekly visit to the lady I am a Caregiver to. It will just involve making her bed with clean linens and then taking her to the Library so she can pick out a new supply of books. She reads nearly 10 each week. I'm in awe of her!

Thank you soooo much, Flo! It came at the right time as I needed to hear those words to motivate me. Yes, I try to be there for each and every one of you and feel I should be the one motivating YOU! I did write a new blog and some of you may have already read it.

As I read somewhere, "share your thoughts and don't be afraid to send a little note -- to someone it may be the nicest and best thing that's happened all day."

You are a Great leader - don't beat yourself up over a few lbs., it happens to all of us. I look forward to your post, at least I know there's someone on this thread that is active. I haven't been doing my share, I know, but seeing your posts gives me some motivation. I've got to overcome my weaknesses, I'm trying and will succeed.

OMG! Two days in a row I have gotten 20 spark points when spinning the wheel -- I am on a roll. Maybe I should go buy a lottery ticket or something. Or..... could this be a sign that everything is going to start going RIGHT in my life?

At the very least I'm going to write another blog today. How many of you are blog writers? Do you read them? I saw one that was thought provoking a few minutes ago, which was a quotation out of the Bible. It said you are never given a temptation that you are not strong enough to resist -- or words to that effect anyway. But I don't seem to be too good at resisting my temptations lately, because my weight has been consistently going UP, not DOWN! I feel like a failure when I have to show my own weight increasing on the team "Daily Weigh In" -- I am the LEADER and should be setting a good example, and yet here I am creeping up and up and up!

Rox-----Beer is noted for weight gain, well try and abstain from it, or have in less amounts, and do some extra exercises and you'll be happier at your next weigh in.

I posted about my weight yesterday, but I don't see it anywhere. I was having computer problems so who knows where it went.
Anyway, I am depressed cause I went and gained 4 lbs.
I am sure this is due to my beer drinking and not exercising.
I must grab hold of myself and get down to business emoticon
Ros - Like you, I'm trying to get out of the 70's - almost made it then started my bad habits, so now I'm back up again.

Yes I have, and even though I'm still not up to what's registered on my ticker at least I've not gained, but it would be lovely to get out of the 180's.

It's heck for us "Seniors" and our computer problems isn't it? I have things like that happen to me too. Or I accidently hit some key (who knows which one?) and lots of things move around -- but I don't know what to do to change it back! The Computer Age! I wish my brain had moved ahead along with the technology.

Looks like a good day here, very hot though, nothing new about that. I lost one of those famous .2's (don't those and the .4's drive you crazy?) but it's better than gaining, so I'm happy. Going out to lunch, so will I see a gain tomorrow? Or will I remain on a plateau? Isn't it great to have something so exciting to look forward to??? haha

Good morning - its a nice sunny day here for a change. We had rain all weekend. Its really cool also, I like that instead of the intense heat.
Since its Monday again emoticon I'm hoping to get on an exercise plan - AGAIN. I always start out good, but hardly ever follow through. One of these weeks, I'll make it!!
Having problems getting my food tracked today, for some reason my screen is really big and I can't click down to enter anything. Will check on that later.
Have a good day,
Flo

emoticon As hard as it is to believe, the weather here was on the cool side -- at least in the morning -- warmed up a bit later. I drove to Tucson yesterday and was caught in a heavy downpour just before reaching my destination; and it rained quite a lot during the night. This morning is was soooo nice outside, enjoyed coffee on the patio. I decided to drive back home this afternoon and although it was nice visiting, it's even nicer to be at home!

Well, when I went to post on the July chat I realized I had failed to make one up yet. Bad girl! I guess I needed Jack here to remind me. haha

My dog had something bothering her ears last night and it caused me to have a restless night, listening to her shake her head and carry on. Never did figure out what was wrong, but she seems OK this morning. I didn't know what to do, so I finally put a couple drops of olive oil in each ear. I don't know if that helped or what, but she layed down on the lawn in the backyard and seemed fine after that. Whew!

I'm going away for the week-end, so hope all of you have a great 4th of July!
