Evidently, my breakfast yesterday didn't quite cut it. I'll have to find a few things to eat with it the next time I make it to really count as having broken the fast... I over ate in terms of calories yesterday, but it wasn't the healthiest meals I ended up with either. Today should be better, but now to figure out breakfast! I've got 15 minutes to eat before I've been awake 1 hour!

I'm reviving this thread since we're focusing on nutrition this month.

I have definitely noticed that not eating breakfast (which has happened more than once in the last week or so) results in my eating more right before bed. I have got to get back in the habit of breakfast! Something, anything to get the day started right!

How about ya'll??

I had a grilled cheese this morning.

2 slices Mrs. Baird's Fiber Plus Wheat Bread, 2 slices provolone cheese (cut on setting 2 in the deli) and 2 slices of low sodium turkey (also cut on setting 2 in the deli).

Plus 6 strawberries! YUM!

I like to eat left overs for breakfast. Cereal make me hungry with in an hour or so. I like it when we have steak and veggies. That makes the best breakfast. I worked the night shift for many years, guess I never got over eating dinner in the morning.

This morning I had all-bran buds, dried blueberries and a shredded wheat for breakfast. I use a milk that has plant sterols in it. Yum!!!

I have a mild lactose intolerance. I have Lactaid milk so I can enjoy cereal and a glass of milk still. One of the best things about the Lactaid milk is it lasts a lot longer than regular milk because the lactose has been removed. Yogurt is something you should be able to eat with your lactose intolerance to add to your breakfast. Because of the way yogurt is made the lactose is removed. Do some surfing on the web and you'll find a lot of recommendations for ways to spice up your diet even with lactose intolerance. emoticon

When I eat breakfast, I sleep better that night and can wake up earlier... thus getting to eat breakfast again!

My probably is I'm lactose intolerant within the first hour to hour and a half in the mornings, but the only thing I have time o make is cereal.

Any super simple, non-dairy suggestions?? PS - fruit doesn't stay with me long enough by itself.

I too am similar to Shannon. I never ate breakfast, but now I do. I try to switch my breakfast out to break routines, but my favorite is Kashi Hot Cereal, Cream of Wheat or Oatmeal a fruit and some skim milk. Yum!

I never used to eat breakfast. Ever since I started this in Jan. I have eaten breakfast everyday, now I'm hungry ay 8:30 every morning! I eat Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal almost everyday wiht a yogurt and an orange. I switch out the oatmeal sometimes for a bagel or cereal. I switch the orange for any fruit. I switch the yogurt for milk if I have cereal.
I'm pretty plain but it works for me!

I like to eat oatmeal with fruit. I put peanut butter in it sometimes. I like to eat this because it is really filling and will satisfy me until lunchtime. I tend to eat less for the day when I have a more filling breakfast.

I eat my breakfast in two parts now. I have something at home after I've been up for half an hour. Usually a piece of toast with a little bit of peanut butter. Then I have the second part of it after I get to work...typically fiber one bran cereal with 1 cup of either strawberries or blueberries, 2 tbsp of flaxseed meal and 1 cup of fat free milk. My berries are frozen and I put them in the milk to keep it cold on the way to work. emoticon This way I am eating something to get my body going first thing in the morning but I'm able to get a full breakfast in once I get to work and have the time to eat while I go through emails.

Every once in a while I change up the second half and have steel cut oats with raisins & flaxseed meal for a change.

I typically have oatmeal or some sort of cereal and some fruit - and yes if I start off on the right foot I am more inclined to do well all day. However, I think that is an old "dieters" mentality and I am trying to get out of it.

We have all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

What do you eat for breakfast?

Does what you eat effect the rest of your day?
