I think I'm going to have to come up with some rewards, I have never done anything like that. I guess knowing that I am really losing weight is reward enough for me! If anyone has any suggestions for rewards, let me know!
PS Quit smoking now! Don't wait until a certain time just do it! If you are like me you will keep putting it off! I started to quit last New Years...So I really did quit this New Years ( well I had my last smoke on Jan. 4) You can do it! I think it was easier that eating healthy and exercising everyday!!!
Good Luck! Keep us informed!

meedless to say i love going out to eat. these days i still am rewarding myself with meals out but now i check the nutrtion facts online before i go so i know what to order. for me going out isn't just about the food but the setting and the fact that we can just talk about life. we don't have to get up and get everything for the kids. they can't just get up and go play we all have to sit together and talk.
as for other rewards when i lose 2 pant sizes i get to buy new work clothes. when i lose 3 new shorts! this excites me more than anything because for 2 years i have only had one pair of shorts that fit! i still have shorts from 4 years ago that i only got to wear one time because i out grew them so quickly.
but to be honest my biggest reward is going to be my biggest challenge. when my weight gets to 165 i am going to quit smoking. no excuses this time. if i can lose weight and get healthy in other ways then i can do that. wish me luck i have tried hundreds of times and it is never pretty. emoticon

My family is the same with rewards, everything seems to focus around food. I'm making changes with rewards in my life. I'm setting small rewards as I go so it's something I want when I get there. My large reward for this year is already set. I'm trying to focus my rewards on supporting my new lifestyle. Here's what I have so far:

10 pounds - I purchased 2 Walk Away the Pounds DVDs.
20 pounds - I get to purchase 2 dance workout DVDs.
Big Reward - If I hit 75 pounds gone by the end of this year I get my elliptical machine when we get next year's tax return. emoticon

I reward my little one (age 4) with prizes from the prize basket (mainly dollar store stuff), special time with Mommy reading or doing crafts, or an outing to somewhere like the zoo or Chuck E. Cheese - we don't eat - we just play games!

I reward my husband with backrubs and footrubs, or helping him with his business extra hours.

I reward myself with a mani/pedi, time to scrapbook or read, or soaky baths!

For weight loss, I have a few goals:
Under 250, I am getting old-fashioned roller skates.
Under 225, a facial (I've never had a professional one).
Under 200, a friend of mine and I are going to try snow skiing.
Under 175, a bikini.
At 155 (GW), a trip to Hawaii (my husband is on board with this one!)

I thought our first discussion should be about reward. In almost every weight loss system they tell you to reward yourself for reaching each goal in your plan. We are all doing a wonderful job, and we should be rewarded.
Are you rewarding yourself?
What are you rewarding yourself with?
I know my family celebrates and rewards with food.
For birthdays you pick the restaurant, for good grades you get dessert, for promotions you go out for drinks. I am trying to change this in my home.
So I wanted to know how you all are handling this.

Often it is about getting out of the endless loop of thinking and getting into action.
