OK so I made my lists! Yesterday I was on my couch all day having the best relaxing ME day. The boys were gone! My hubby came home at dinner time, I made a great tilapia dinner, and we had an alone night! So, today will be my 20 min outside walking and my yoga after!

For the last day:

SUN. 4/27:
1) Make a list of 10 things to say to yourself when you feel you can't finish a workout or exercise. This was a tip from Jason (Project Mayhem). Here are mine - feel free to borrow, but try to come up with at least THREE of your own!:

Hi everyone,

I switched my Fri/Sat exercise challenges because I have a little injury. So I was outside yesterday walking for 20 minutes. It was beautiful weather!

Today I am going to do my get-ups as part of my mayhem challenge.

Yesterday's mental homework:

1) I always said that I CAN'T run longer than 30 seconds. Thursday, I did it for 1 minute. I always said that I CAN'T do tricep dips. After working for 3 months to do reverse pushups, I did 50 per day, 2 days last week.
2) I can't jump because of the impact to my knees. I am working on leg strength and removing weight so I can jump up and down again! I am tired of doing modified jumping jacks. :-)
3) I can't do very many lunges because I have bad knees. I am working on building up my knee and leg strength so I CAN do more lunges. I have started doing a LOT of reverse lunges, but front lunges are still a struggle. I WILL work up to doing these. I can do this!

Today's mental homework - 10 reasons I am grateful:

1) I am grateful that I can RUN, walk, see, hear, feel, touch, taste, and smell.
2) I am grateful for my wonderful husband.
3) I am grateful for my adorable daughter.
4) I am grateful for my encouraging parents.
5) I am grateful for my TRUE friends. I am careful with the word "friend".
6) I am grateful for a comfortable home.
7) I am grateful for this support group!
8) I am grateful for the opportunities I have had with business, education, and church.
9) I am grateful for my faith.
10) I am grateful for enough to eat, clothes to wear, and the kindnesses of others.

SAT. 4/26:
1) Write down 10 reasons you are grateful today. Make at least ONE of them a reason you are grateful for your body.
2) Do an exercise OUTSIDE today for at least 20 minutes. If you have rain or snow, then try a new exercise DVD or show you've never tried!!

Hi ladies,

I see you are all doing just great.
I just wanted to let you know I haven't fallin off the wagon, with the warm weather I have been spending alot of time outside and have been logging in for food log and exercise log. I try to make sure i huddle with you so you know I'm still here. I will try to catch up with the boards on the weekends.

You all are doing just wonderful, keep up the hard work and we will lose all that butter!

OK first of all, I did the running last night! woohoo
2nd of all baths are not my thing, I know why I never take them! lol My boobs and my belly were cold! lol So I took a hot shower and went to sleep! This morning I went back to sleep after hubby went to work, for me!!!

FRI. 4/25:
1) Think of 3 things that people ask or tell you to do and you say, "I can't do that!" Make a goal to overcome these things - and PUT IT IN WRITING.
2) Do 20 get-ups today. Space them out if needed...but do them ALL! A get-up is lying flat on the floor, and getting up to a standing position as fast as you can. It is harder than it sounds.

1-minute run on the treadmill!! My speed was slow (4.5 mph) but it was running for me! (Slap, slap, slap) LOL

Hair treatment tonight (leave-in) and hot bath

I am so proud of all of you guys for looking deeply at yourselves. I designed something that was hard for ME and I am in awe that you guys are embracing this so easily. You guys rock.

I just got home from a very busy evening!

My mom showed up 3 hours early.
We ate dinner early, around 4:30,
My son had a baseball game at 6:00,
I had parent teacher conference at 6:00,
the game was over by 8:15,
then I went for a 60 min. walk.

I forgot about the running, but I am going to do it now.
I am also taking this from Miranna and I'm going to take a bubble bath.

My son went home with my mom until Sat. woohoo!

I still have to babysit tomorrow, but I will be done by 4:30!

Okay....I am sitting here with a mask as we speak, that is all I could think of to do, I would love to go for a pedicure but right now I need to save my pennies!

I also ran on the treadmill this evening...I did 30 min. and I sprinted a few times. DAMN that is hard!

Hello Ladies!! Well today was absoutly beautiful day and I got a little sun! Yeah! I finished most of everything I had planned out, however, I decided to forego working on the garden by the deck and went for my 3 mile walk, it has missed me!

So, I did 30 min walking forward of cardio (regular) and 30 min walking backwards (new cardio). Man, that is tough. I did 10 min walking forward and 10 min walking backwards and kept switching. OMG! My thighs and butt hurt! Try it sometime.

I just took a hot bath with bubbles and just relaxed, so I did #1 & #2! Woohoo

Okay laides, I am going to work tomorrow, so going to go watch a little TV and rest.

So, anyone ready to head the challenge for next week and take us into May?

I am 2 days behind. LOL. Well ladies sorry I have not been on, but I have been extremely active for the last two days and today will be the same.

Tuesday: Moved all the furniture in the living room, swept the floors, re-arranged the living room. Went to the garage pulled 2 side chairs from storage and cleaned them up, pulled to cabinents and hung them in the laundry room and organized the laundry/tool room. Swept the rest of the house, washed the windows and did many loads of laundry.

My Positives: 1. I like that I am getting a waist. 2. I love my feet - I got my mom's pretty feet. 3. I love that I am getting my dimples back.

Wednesday: I mowed the lawn (.20) acres, edged. Planted 7 rose bushes and de-weeded (by hand) 1/4 of the yard and chased neighbors dog down the street and captured the run a way pup and played with them in my yard.

Why I'm overweight:
1) I ate to feel fulfilled & needed (emotional), I was lonley.
2) Did not make MY life a priority, always wanting to take care of other so they would love me and feel needed.
3) I was too busy taking care of everyone else, working like an alcoholic and did not excercise.

Why this won't stop me anymore:
1) I am learning to love myself and learning what Miranna is about.
2) Making myself a priority and dealing with the emotianal/mind aspect of why I did why I have done.
3) Respecting my body as it is my temple of happiness, love and peace.

Thursday Plans: Working in the yard again. I am finishing the front yard (the other half) and cleaning out weeds, raking, trimming bushes/hedges, pulling out a plants and getting dirt ready to plant some more plants. Also, mixing in some garden soil in my garden area to plant my seedling - Yeah fresh veggies in a couple months!

Okay, so I am a day behind! I just was swamped yesterday and Spark did not get too much of my attention, in fact I need to go log my food. At any rate I didn't play tag yesterday because it is hard for me to do at work but I will double up today.

3 tags done! Fun today girls :-)

Why I'm overweight:
1) I wanted to be accepted and loved for who I was, overweight and all
2) I never ate enough and when I did I chose too many of the bad things
3) I always had some thing better to do even if that was just sitting around

Why this won't stop me anymore:
1) I want to be ALL that I can be in life
2) I am more conscience of all the things I put into my body
3) I make myself exercise, and I don't doubt myself.

1) Do something nice for your body today - a footrub, paint your nails, do a face mask, a long hot bath, ANYTHING.
2) RUN for 1 minute...on a treadmill, in place, up or down some stairs. If you have to break it up into 10-second increments...JUST DO IT. (Yea Nike)

Why I'm overweight:
1) I didn't make me a priority
2) I ate way too much of the wrong foods
3) I didn't get off my butt and exercise!!

Why this won't stop me anymore:
1) I love myself enough now to make the time to take care of my body
2) I count EVERYTHING...no more garbage in!!
3) I am treating my body as a precious belonging that needs special care. Exercise is what helps me to thrive.

ok 30 min done, I got a new exercise bike and I did it today for 30 min!!! WOOHOO

1. I love my big brown EYES (more better to see you with...lol)

Hmmm...30 minutes of something you have never done before. Andybody have any ideas?

Three physical positives...My hair is curly and easy to manage, I have long eye lashes, I like my legs - they are big legs but when they have a little less fat, I like them.

emoticon Just wanted to let everyone know that there will be a new feature Spark will be rolling out this week and I am so excited about it as the team creator. I received an email this morning and SparkTeams will now have a an opportunity to have team goals and each individual will be able to link those goals to their own pages for tracking.

This will be an excellent way to track our Team Goal of losing so much weight by Dec. 31st, 2008. and many other great goals. Soo....

Will everyone send me there starting weight at the beginning of the year and your latest weigh-in by sparkmail? I will be starting to create our 1st goal.

Secondly, if you have a goal that you think our team can work towards, please sparkmail me your ideas. Things suggested by spark was weekly fitness and nutrition goals, getting enough sleep, etc. So if you have an idea, just let me know. We can have 5 for our team!

Wow, look at everyone! This is fabulous. Marilee, this time of year in AZ is so great.. I will be there on the next plane out - I wish!

Challenge #1 and #2 done. I did flutter kicks, reverse lift on a ball and a yoga pose that is crazy, but I did it!

I will go invite another person right now!

WOW!!!!!!!!!! It's 7:41 a.m. here (EARLY for me!), and I came on here to remind you guys, and a bunch of you have already done this!!

MON. 4/21:
1) Look at the team members we have. Look for the names of three people you have never communicated with, or seldom communicate with, and go put a POSITIVE comment on their Spark page.
2) Do 2 Spark strength exercises you've never done before, and LOG them in Spark.
POST HERE WHEN YOU'VE DONE BOTH THINGS.

I did #1, and for #2, I did the following (DON'T forget to log them in Spark!):
Close-Arm Wall Pushups
Reverse Plank
T Stand

Sorry, kids, but I will not be weighing in until Friday because I am only 1/2 way into monthly visitor and am still retaining a LOT of water. I do not want to cry when I get on the scale!! LOL

SHANNON...a loss is AWESOME!! Go lift a 2-pound weight...it is GREAT to lose that much in a week.

JONA and MARJI - you guys are ROCK STARS!!

KIM - it is Monday!! That is allowed! LOL You go, girl, for getting 1/2 done at work. I have no idea how you guys get ANY of this done while working f/t.

MIRANNA - hello my lovely!! 2.8 pounds - WOO-HOO!!! You totally rock!!! P.S. Will you come help me weed?? Puh-leeze?

ok First things first:
My weigh-in is
LW - 282.6
CW - 280.4
Yes, it is a loss, but I'm kind of bummed. I worked out so hard last week. I had more exercise last week than I have had my whole life! So I am a little disappointed!

Now. on to this week. Both #1 and #2 complete!

YO YO YO! What up girls? I have completey #1 but need to do #2 when I get home...How is everything going this fine morning? It is rainy here is good ol' Virginia and my arse wanted to stay in bed.

How is everyone? This is going to be a great week! Yeah Marilee!

Last week I weighed in at 220.0 lbs and I weigh-in this week ::drum roll:: 217.2 lbs for a loss of 2.8 lbs.

So what are you focusing on this week? My focus is adjusting my calorie cycling and working in the garden!

Marilee - this rocks, thanks for taking the time on this. You and Shannon have really taken the bull by the horns and done these challenges. YOU ROCK. Why we are fat is so important to identify so that we don't go back. I have detected in several people signs that show this won't be their last journey on the weight loss venture because I see that they are making excuses and sabotaging themselves and don't even realize it.

I will be reporting publically every day.

Hello ladies, it's your Friendly Neighborhood Taskmaster!! Hwa ha ha

Here is your challenge for 4/21 through 4/27. I will remind you daily about the next day's tasks, so if you lose track of the thread, I will help.

This challenge is going to be all about ACCOUNTABILITY to and COMMUNICATION with yourself and the team. This is about not only your body but what got you to this body. This time has been different for ME because this time, I care about resolving WHY I am fat...not just losing the fat. However, I think this is personal for many people, so...

YOUR MISSION:
Beginning Monday, 4/21, post under this thread ONCE a day after completing your assignment. You don't have to put details...just, "COMPLETED #1 AND #2". Not hard, right? And it keeps what you actually DID private, if you want it to be. For those who WANT to share, go for it.

YOUR ASSIGNMENTS:
They will change every day...see below.

MON. 4/21:

2) Try 30 minutes of a kind of cardio that you've never tried before.
POST HERE WHEN YOU'VE DONE BOTH THINGS.

WED. 4/23:
1) Thing of 3 reasons why you are overweight. Now, think of 3 reasons why those obstacles will NO LONGER STOP YOU. WRITE THEM DOWN somewhere. Again, you can keep them personal, or make them public...it's up to you!
2) Play tag with us 3 times today! It doesn't take long, I swear.
POST HERE WHEN YOU'VE DONE BOTH THINGS.

THU. 4/24:
1) Do something nice for your body today - a footrub, paint your nails, do a face mask, a long hot bath, ANYTHING.
2) RUN for 1 minute...on a treadmill, in place, up or down some stairs. If you have to break it up into 10-second increments...JUST DO IT. (Yea Nike)
POST HERE WHEN YOU'VE DONE BOTH THINGS.

FRI. 4/25:
1) Think of 3 things that people ask or tell you to do and you say, "I can't do that!" Make a goal to overcome these things - and PUT IT IN WRITING.
2) Do 20 get-ups today. Space them out if needed...but do them ALL! A get-up is lying flat on the floor, and getting up to a standing position as fast as you can. It is harder than it sounds.
POST HERE WHEN YOU'VE DONE BOTH THINGS.

SAT. 4/26:
1) Write down 10 reasons you are grateful today. Make at least ONE of them a reason you are grateful for your body.
2) Do an exercise OUTSIDE today for at least 20 minutes. If you have rain or snow, then try a new exercise DVD or show you've never tried!!
POST HERE WHEN YOU'VE DONE BOTH THINGS.

SUN. 4/27:
1) Make a list of 10 things to say to yourself when you feel you can't finish a workout or exercise. This was a tip from Jason (Project Mayhem). Here are mine - feel free to borrow, but try to come up with at least THREE of your own!:
You don't control me...I DO!
It's not pain...it's just exhaustion...and I CAN DO IT!
I'm going to be around for a LONG time!
This one's for everyone who doubted I could do it.
This body is a temple.
I am worth it.
I will NOT back down.
Time for myself is NOT wasted.
You will not break me.
I will prove to you that I CAN do this.
I decide what's going to happen in my life.
I am my only real obstacle!
This body is capable.
I am NOT the fat girl. I am NOT the fat girl.
2) Do yoga or stretching today for at least 15 minutes.
