Did you hear Bob talking about a "cheat meal" every week? Interesting concept...I tend to just have a little something if I want it and just work it into my calories...

I am lucky because my days are all pretty much the same. (Mom + helping hubby with his business) Where I struggle is with friends or family who want to go out all the time. When I am feeling "weak" I just log in to Spark and forget about food. I don't have any other great answers!!

I struggle horribly. There is so much junk food in the house for hubby and kids that I get rather mad that I can't have it. Fridays I get in a good workout becuase I don't work but sat's and sun's I just can't find the drive. If I get on here it helps me but I still have to force myself. This weekend I am hoping it will be easier because I came up with the challenge so I have to do it and do it well. I really don't have the answer to fixing this problem but I read an email from spark about most people eating 85 more calories a day on the weekends and that 3,500 is a pound so in something like 10 weeks you gain one pound. that's alot of pounds a year and I am hoping that motivates me to keep the snacks out of my mouth and my feet on the treadmill.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE 80s music...especially HairBand music!! :) and old school rap. Those are the only 3 stations I listen to on the way to work lol.
Kimmie - I thought we were going to suprise Tomie and Blue with standing on their legs as they do the squats! emoticon Oh, and I so hope Jughead calls ya!

woo hoo a hot marine. WTG. I hope he calls. wow I wish that was me. I remember going out with my MOM and she got hit on not me. this wa a while ago but still my mom. ofcourse he was drunk and older. oh well.

ok I got to tell you all I am so excited for my baby boy. I took him to school early cuz a local radio station is there and he had his pie. so anyhow he got to talk on the radio. I know he is jumping for joy. it is so neat to see the kid in him. he is trying so hard to grow up too fast. he didn't get to say hi to me but he mentioned his pie, ofcourse not that I made it just apple pie. oh well just want to yell to the world that my baby is still a kid. yeah


oh forgot kim I'll go with just the B&E challenge (not breaking and entering)lol I want to walk my butt off today to get in miles.

GOOD MORNING LADIES...Yeah, I don't know I am HUGE music buff but just wouldn't say that the 80's are my favorite. In fact Garber and other friends will mention some songs and I think I just blocked out things from that era. SPeaking of music this morning I was riding into work and they do a Friday morning mix on one of the hip hop stations which I love to listen to and this morning they were taking it back to like the 60's and had some great R & B - I was JAMMIN' in the car. In fact I was singing on the top of my lungs that my voice is a little strained right now. 30 min. of complete bliss.

Okay, I'm not saying this for ANY reason other than the story. I have never considered myself pretty, attractive, etc. I am just me. Well this morning I was at the store getting some fruit and this guy says to me in line "you have really gorgeous eyes" and to be honest I didn't really pay attention to him...just said "thanks". Well, he continues to talk to me and he says "did that make you feel uncomfortable" and I looked at him and said "hell no, I'll take it! - thank you!" Well, when I looked at him to say this I realized how flippin HOT he was. OMG - totally the guy I would think would be WAY out of my league. I then went to get gas and who would you guess was at the pump next to mine the hot Marine. Well he has a name and all but for the sake of his privacy we will call him JUGHEAD. Long story short JUGHEAD asked for my no. Who knows if he will ever call but hey it made me feel good this morning.

Marilee - THANK YOU for the songs, I have some of them and I will add the others.

Tommie - I am cool with just our B & E challenge this weekend - but if you want us to do some thing else I'm down with whatever.

I love 80's music like someone said it is upbeat ready to party music. and I grew up on it. lol I do try to listen to some stuff that is coming out now so I know what my teen is listening to but boy some of it is to rough for my delicate little ears. but on my radio is mostly country. i know boohoo but my hubby got me listening years ago and now i can't quit of course now he prefers rock but in the car I win it is country all the way.

Are we having a minichallenge today or just what is on bee's and elephants challenge?

all 50's done plus spark strength training program.

I know we are not suppose to get on the scale before monday but because I know I am bad on the weekends I got on there this morning, had to know with all the walking this week. OMG i am down to 164.00 even. lost 2.4 pounds. OMG I am so happy. I'm pretty sure it has been a year since I weighed this. I really don't know for sure cuz I avoided the scale like the plague before. Now if I just don't gain over the weekend I'll cry for joy on monday.

Kimmie, Hip flexors are knee lifts! OMG my challenge is in for today! 30 min. cardio, 50 hip flexors, 50 dumbbell lateral raises, and 50 lying abductions! I also had ST today so I added 50 wall pushups, 50 crunches, and 50 squats! WOOOHOOO I am POOPED!!! K going to drink some water! What do I rock out to? Depends on what I am doing. Cardio is usually Pitbull, Daddy Yankee, or Lil John. ST is usually Limp Bizcuit or Lincoln Park

O.k. Ladies. I was not feeling well yesterday and by the time I got home, all I wanted was my bed, some thera flu and my pillow. I didn't really eat dinner (I had 1 forkfull of spareribs that I made in the crockpot). I was in bed, asleep by 830. As I was walking to bed, I realized I hadn't done the challenge yet! Before getting in bed, I grabbed a dumbell and did the triceps and then got on the floor and did the bridges, and THEN off to bed. I couldn't let ya'll down! Still am not feeling all that well today so I didn't get to the gym this morning. I did pack my gym bag incase I feel better after work but that's not looking too promising. I will do the challenge for today when I get home tonight.
O.k. done rambling...must...start...work....UGH

core - 50 hip flexors
upper - 50 dumbbell lateral raises
lower - 50 lying abductions
if anyone doesn't know what these are, go under healthy lifestyle and click on fitness. Then you can browse spark exercises!

My friend and I went for a walk tonight, we haven't done this since last summer. I went all the way around the path (0.63 miles) 2 times!! WOOHOO
Last year I could barely get around 1 time, and my back hurt so bad! This time it didn't hurt at all! I am sooo happy!! I just had to share!

My 30 minute cardio is done!
50 bridges are done! (they are when you lie on your back, bend your knees, with feet flat on the floor, and lift your booty off the ground!)
50 tricep extensions are done!
(I did the dumbell tricep extensions on the ball)
I also tried the plank again, I got up to 30 seconds, WOOHOOO!
So who is doing tomorrow's challenge???

Keep the energy coming. I have been negative nellie ALL MORNING. got on here at lunch read up on posts and felt the energy from you guys. I went for a walk to the end of the road and back in 9 min. did the wall push up and crunches and am feeling much better. thank you all so much for being here.
my positive is that I can find a way to work out anywhere.

Okay ladies there you have it Tomie challenges us to 50 wall pushups and Garber challenges us to 50 crunches! IT IS ON!

I for one can't do crunches here at work but I can do the wall pushups when I go to the bathroom, who cares if I stay in the stall too long!

The lawyer nonmatching Obama lover has just entered the building I will keep you posted with his antics. I IM Garber all day about what he says...LOL

I got up this morning and worked it out. I did 15 miles on the bike and every 5 min. I hopped of and did 25 jumping jacks. I have to say I was so darn pooped when done but when I got in the shower this morning I did 25 squats - I spoke with Miranna and Garber on the way into work this morning.

I have to say, I am only a member of 2 teams but this is the team that gets me though my workout. You are all AMAZING women and I thank you for the support to make me work out the best I can. I used to (before spark) sometimes get to the gym and just go through the motions. NOW, I don't want to let you all down and I push myself. THANK YOU!!!! emoticon emoticon

OK Kimmie...I sucked it up and instead of squats, I did plies (ballet squats - wider stance). Did Jason's Friday challenge so I did (drum roll please...) 250 plies. OH MY

My legs are going to DIE.

I am not totally vegan. I eat meat sometimes but mostly my diet is awesome-organic and veg. I have been very good posting my food intake and I mean everything that I eat is on the SP nutrition plan. I have been staying in my ranges. Well, if I can't lose pounds then maybe I will be just one big muscle! LOL

Love ya'll for the support. You dont know how much it means to me.

PS I did 50 squats- Does 2 sets of 25 count? I am a big baby! I don't like to feel the burn!!!!

I did 50 mini squats hehe. plus a few other things that target the areas that need "sculpting"

you all are killing me. His feet up and mismatched sock singing, too funny.

i am up for any MINI challenge you got. Are 50 squats mini? well maybe now but not 4 weeks ago. although by 25 my knees are giving so I have to break them up.

Well I just walked down the street (we can see most of it now) I was going for 2 miles but only got 1.91. I wouldn't have gotten half that if I wasn't thinking of all you. so thank you

as much as you are working out I bet you are gaining muscle. and I agree whole heartedly with Garber you may not be eating the right things. Make sure that you are getting your protein. i know you are vegan so you really need to be careful.

NO NO NO...you HAVE to eat. Do you keep a log/journal? Maybe look at what you are eating? For the longest time, the scale wouldn't move for me or if it did, it went up. I joined a Biggest Loser challenge at my gym last year and the scale kept going up up up. I was working out at LEAST 2 hours a day BUT what I was eating was all wrong. I wasn't eating enough to keep my metabolism going. I know it is frustrating when the scale doesn't feel like moving, but you said you are losing inches. That is GREAT! You are working out, so it is possible that you are building more muscle which ways more than fat. There are so many possiblities, but just make sure you are eating ENOUGH food and QUALITY food for your body.

Thanks to all for your nice comments. I really appreciate all of the kindness and encouragement from this group. I love that even when I have an off week (last week it was a zero), you guys see all the positives. I love being around you guys, especially when I have a few porcupines in real life to deal with on a regular basis! I totally am addicted to this site. It's the first thing I see in the morning and the last thing I check out before bed.

The fitness minutes is something I have really been trying to "up". It's that Biggest Loser mentality...if you would have told me at autumn-time that I would be working out 60+ minutes per day, I would have thought you were CRA-zy. I have always had an "I can't do that!" attitude. I credit Spark for slapping me upside the head and saying, "YES you can, you idiot!!" :-)

OK Miss Kim - squats and lunges are out for me (I have an old knee injury, for serious). Any good substitutes? I would love a little fitness challenge that's not in my normal routine.

I didn't do 50 squats b/c it would confirm my co-worker's suspicions that I am a total nut-job. I did, however, do 50 leg lifts while sitting in my desk chair. Does that count? :)

I am stuck at 250 BUT I can honeslty say I didn't eat the best this weekend. I didn't do HORRIBLE, but I could have done so much better. I guess staying the same is better than I thought the scale would say this morning.
