Well, I did not get my 50's in yesterday, and do I feel so guilty for not doing them! No excuse but I was gone all day, my son had hockey and my sister-in-law finally moved out yesterday!!! So we were very busy and by the time I got home, I crashed! Today, I will do my 50's tonight (I promise). I have spent the day painting my spare bedroom so my son will be in there now. Do you know I looked up painting and the 2 hours of actual painting I burned 768 calories. Can u believe it?? OK I'm rambling on! See everyone tomorrow. Hope you all had a great weekend!

I have all my 50's in and I did another 90 min. walk. I didn't do any running but right now I just want to get a little more comfortable and faster with my walk. I can do this!

I am so happy that you ladies are accepting these challenges and doing them! I just love challenging myself because it pushes me.

I will be posting next weeks challenge later this evening so that you can start first thing in the MORNING!

i have no jump rope ( 3 kids you would think i would ) and to be honest i don't know if i could use one. my floors aren't that strong. the jumping jacks have the whole house shaking around here. scares the dogs to death lol.

I do not have a jumprope, but on Turbo Jam, they have you mimicking the jumprope motion (wrist action while jumping) so I do that.

Thanks Miranna - My calories are going well. I also added sodium, fiber, calcium, and cholesterol, to keep track of. OMG talk about "what the heck do I eat??" LOL Well today took some switching around but I finally got everything in range!!!
Jenn - I also had one of those feeling crappy days, I realized I was pushing myself too hard. So I changed my workout to cardio M,W,F and strength T,Th. I do our challenge every day and that seems to be working better for me! The day in between really helps me out!! Going from no exercise EVER to every day finally took its toll on me! So now I am taking it easy. But I'm still doing it!

MeMe (I like that nickname) - last night I did the following: jumprope for a min, lunges with the back leg up on a board, front leg WAY out in front of me - 25 on each leg, 50 squats, and repeat 2 more times. Next, she had me stand on a bonsi ball (looks like a ball on top, flat on bottom so you need balance which I do not have)and squat while taking a ball infront of me and twisting my upper body 50 times, next was one let on the bonsi ball and one leg on the ground squating doing the same; 25 on each leg - repeat 2 more times. She also had me take a resistance band, put it under the middle of my feet and criss-cross the handles and do walking side lunges - 15 steps out, 15 back 3 times. Last 'no weights' exercise was to wrap the band around one foot, take both handles of the bands in opposite hand (i.e. left foot, right hand) and kick my leg out and to the back to work the glutes. We also did some work with weights but let me just tell you by the time we got to the weights I was POOPED!

Thanks all, I definitely agree with the off days. I take each Sunday off from working out so my body has a regular off day each week to recoup. It definitely makes a difference.

Garber(KimQ): You will have to share some of those excercises using only your body; that sounds interesting.

Shannon: Keep up the great work! How is the calorie range going?

Jenn: I agree with Garber, our bodies do have a way of signaling for help when it just needs a break. It is important to take those breaks. It is important to make sure your body has at least one day of rest, no excercise to heal, so it can be stronger.

Good morning and TGIF!
Sweetlea - I hope you are feeling better! Sometimes our bodies just say 'STOP making me work so hard so that I can recoup!' We all need to listen to our bodies.
I got all of the challenge done plus lots more. Met my trainer for lower body workout last night. OUCHIE! I had to go down my steps at home this morning and I litterly thought my knees were going to fold under me. I just joined another gym so I only have a couple more sessions with her. She has been trying to show me things I can do without using weights; only my natural body weight. WOWZERS. Anywho, it is a good pain, right? (I have to tell myself that :) ). I hope you all have an excellent day and keep goin with the challenge!

Good morning! Everyone is doing so well with the challenge!
As promised, I made up for Tuesday last night. Not only did I do my 50 pushups and squats throught the day (Potty breaks) but my trainer had me do 125 pushups and 200 crunches last night.
I have gotten in my squats and jumping jacks so far today. I just got Turbo Jam yesterday and of course had to try it out last night. I love it! I did it last night and got up early this morning and did another workout with it. It really works the legs and abs.

wonderful news i woke up this morning and could walk and lift my legs without crying. it is great. i can't wait to do the squats today. i may even keep up with this after the challenge depending on what the next one is.

well i did not want to do any of the 3 today. my legs were so sore all day i needed a handicap rail just to sit on the potty. BUT i did it anyway. then did 33 min on the treadmill.

My stamina does not seem any different than monday. except now i remember the pain involved and still want to get it done because i know it is going to pay off.

even when you don't get your 50 today there is alwyas tomorow. keep it up it is working!!!

kim i am so glad to here you are feeling better and meme the best thing i have found for sinus around here is the saline wash stuff.

Everyone you are doing so good with this challenge! Keep up the great work. I challenge all of you to look back at Monday and see if there is a difference in your stamina of doing these excercises; even if it minimal.

Okay.. I too did not get all my 50's done. I got in 30 squats and 50 wall push-ups. I walked/jogged 1.67 miles on the treadmill after work and planned on doing the rest when I got home, but I didn't. Everytime I bent over or moved fast I thought my sinus were going to explode, and I know why today-- I have a sinus infection. These darn allergies and weather changes.

Good morning ladies!
I did not get in all 3 50's yesterday. I did get in squats and pushups and PLANNED on doing jumping jacks and crunches but didn't get home until 1130 last night. I know, it isn't an excuse. I promise to you all I will more than make up for it tonight (I have an appt w/ my trainer today). I am very aware that I didn't do all I should have yesterday.
On a different note - I got a Danskin sports bra from Target (I believe) and I really like that one.

I went and got a cheap sports bra from Wal-Mart (Fruit of the Loom) or something like that! It does its job better that my bra. Regarding the belly, let it flap, it'll be gone before you know it!! LOL

I am still sick but feeling al ittle better. I am so sick of lying around, one days is enough for me.

I got all my 50's in this morning..WOO HOO! My legs and back are sore.

Onto some thing completely random - do any of you know of a good sports bra? I honestly feel like I need to tie my stomach down when doing the jumping jacks...EWW!

garber i think taz is coming after me because he is not used to seeing me move so much lol. it could be a noise his ears are sensitive. i have to put him in the other room now because i am afraid he will knock me over.

just wanted to let you all know that i have in 25 squats and wall pushups today. ho0pefully will get in the rest tonight. i did do 25 crunches yesterday but i will have to get a ball or something to help with my back.
just a little funny thing. we have stairs at my office. one bathroom is up there and the other on the ground floor. i usually use the ground floor one but thought i would try using the upstairs so i would get in a few steps a day. this morning i tried to go up and didn't think i was going to make it. i felt like the little train that thought he could. i must admit it has helped the soreness going up and down them.

great going girls and keep up the program it will pay off in so many ways.

Hey ladies, I think I have some sort of cold of some sorts. I have been taking theraflu every 4-6 hours and I have been sleeping like a crazy women.

Yesterday, I did get all 50 in, today I have done 25 wall pushups. My back is killing me from lying down so much so the squats are going to be a challenge but I don't want to let you all down.

If you are sore, don't give up completely - just stretch and work through it. It will get easier, you can do this. Use the NEW you frame of thinking. You can do this! And remember it will hurt, you haven't worked these muscles in a long time and we are pushing a lot of weight. Think the Biggest Loser, those people workout much harder than we are - it doesn't kill them, it won't kill us!

I have 1/2 of my 50's in and last night I accomplished 20 crunches instead of 15, so I will go for 22 tonight. I don't think I'll be doing much sitting today(it hurts to much), so I should be able to get a lot of steps in today. Everyone is good so great, I'm glad to see others are a sore as I'm.

Shannon, I hate to say it, but he is right. I have a trainer I go to 2times a week for several months now and she has me do TONS of squats and pushups (regular and modified but not wall). We have gradually added more and more so now the 50 do not really bother me as much as they did months ago. The 150 - 200 or so of each that she has me do, now thats a different story... :) Everyone is doing so great with the challenges! I'm glad to be part of this team!!!

Happy Tuesday all,
I have my 50's in for today! Talk about sore...my arms and shoulders are the worst! Well my hubby put in his two cents..."keep going, it won't hurt if you keep doing them everyday" Thanks for the wisdom dear!!! LOL

Good morning Ladies.
I didn't have a chance to get in the challenge yet this morning, but best believe I will do them throughout the day. I did manage to get to the gym this morning and do my walk/jog training for 30 min. I will attempt to do more cardio later today if time permits....not sure when I will be home. I am going to a texas hold-em poker tornament tonight. I have NEVER played before, so it should be interesting. It is with people from work, which happen to be all guys, and there is no money at stake, just some good ole fashioned smack talking :)
Tomie - I had to laugh at your comment about the dog nipping at your feet while on the treadmill. I have a dog that does that and when he isn't trying to grab onto my shoelaces, he sits there and whines....I can't figure out why. I'm thinking maybe there is a noise coming from the treadmill that hurts his ears? dunno.

Anyway, I hope you all have a great Tuesday!!!!

Tomie - I bet you got a nice short jog in after you got off the treadmill...I can totally see myself doing something like that!

Kimmie - Oy, I felt yesterday's 50's in my cardio workout this morning!

All 3 of my 50's are in for the day.

Thanks to everyone's posting, it motivated me to get mine done. I ate something that really made me feel bad and I didn't think I would do it.
But I did 50 of everything. Yahoo!

I just wanted to tell you all what helped me. I did 10 of each wall pushups, squats, jumping jacks, and then crunches. I rested for 1 min. and then 10 more of each. until all 5 times were done! That seemed to make it better than counting to 50 and having it seem to last forever. I am still sore, and I did it this morning! LOL
Oh well some day it won't hurt anymore and we will all look back and think 50...that's nothin! Keep up the great work everyone and thanks for being here!

Well I'm with Tomie, I will do the squats, push-ups, jacks, and I will work my way to 50 crunches starting with 15 and adding 2 per day.
I'm done with the push-ups, squats, and half way through with the jacks. and I still have to do my crunches.
I will sleep well tonight. LOL

hey got in 27 min on the treadmill. couldn't do the other three cuz i was going to pee my pants but 27 makes me happy.

wish i could train the dog (taz) to wuit biting my leg and foot when i am on it.

Congrats everyone on doing such a great job on the challenge today.

Tomie: Think of the great example your setting for the little ones!!

Okay, I did half this afternoon and half tonight, but I did not do the cruches. I need to get a fitness ball to do them on, so it wont kill my back.

My arms are like jelly, my legs and butt are sore! I know I am a pain in the &*( but, wow! I haven't done squats in forever!

ok i have finished with the challenge work out. if i can get feeling back in my legs and the pain from my knees i will walk on the treadmill for 30 min. and kimmie just so you know i have never done squats i always thought they were a waste of time. i now know better.
my thighs are on fire. i did 25 at lunch and 25 now. i only hope i can walk tomorow. lol

ok i will try to do all but the 50 crunches. i will try for 25 of those but i don't even know if i have stomache muscles any more lol. lord help me i think this may kill me. i'm on lunch now so i am going to try to find somewhere to get started.

Plan of attack today since I am not feeling well is to do 5 here, 10 there. I just did 15 wall pushups and 10 squats when I went tinkle.

The ones I really don't think I will be doing at work during potty breaks are the crunches or jumping jacks.

OK sooo....who knew wall push ups would make my arms feel like jello??? Well I did all four! And I can barely type. LOL
Now I am off to do my 40 min cardio with the people from Biggest Loser! Have a great Monday everyone!

Good morning. Who would be crazy enough to suggest those 50 jumping jacks, 50 pushups, and 50 squats? hmmmm..lol. I have done all 3 this morning and will do the crunches tonight after the gym. I hope you all have a great fitness day!!!!!

Hey ladies, seems like I have caught a cold of some sort. My throat hurts, my eyes are burning and my right ear is killing me :( I didn't get to do any of this stuff this morning but I will do it later.

I plan on doing all 4 - my legs are very tight, I don't know if it is cold symptoms or from this weekend.

Okay ladies, lets get our game faces on! I am ready to be tough, strong and focused! FITNESS is our focus for the next week. We are all at different levels but I am sure that we all can afford to do a little more. I know that everybody does not have access to a gym or equipment so I want to make our fitness challenges some thing that we can all do at home. This weekend on our "bridge" challenge - I went easy on ya ;)

Every month my dear friend of 15 years has challenged me to 50 jumping jacks, 50 squats and 50 wall push ups along with a gallon of water for the whole month of February. I need your help because after this weekend of starting this challenge my thighs are tight and burning. I also want to share my pain ;)

So...with no further ado. I challenge you to 50 jumping jacks, 50 squats, 50 wall pushups each day for the next 7 days. That will be 350 squats, 350 jumping jacks and 350 wall pushups by this time next week!!! As promised I said I would offer 4 things and you could chose to do 3 out of the 4. Your fourth choice is 50 crunches.

Yes, this is difficult, yes, your legs will be sore along with your arms but lastly but not least YES - you can do this!
