Being a Christian isn't about religion. It's about a relationship with the One who made us. I'm so thankful to be one of His.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

Do not ask the Lord to guide your footstep, unless you are willing to move your feet.

God grant me the serenity to accept those I cannot change, to change the one I can,
and the wisdom to know it’s me.

They will have a 5K (3 mile) route and a 10K (6 mile route) to choose from. I have done it in the past, if I remember right you have to do the 10K to go by the homes used as sets for the movies filmed there.

Smithville is a pretty communty approx. 42 miles east on Austin on Hwy 71. Never been there? Well here is the perfect opportunity to come look around. Take the Christmas Walking Tour.

The walk goes through the historic district, down Main Street with its unique antique and specialty shops and by the Railroad Park and Museum. Walkers will see the “Gingerbread Man” monument that commemorates Smithville for baking the World’s Largest Gingerbread Man in 2006 by the Guinness Book of World Records. Included on the walk are several sites which appeared in the movie films: "Hope Floats" and "Tree of Life" starring Brad Pitt.

Walk starts at City Hall, 317 Main Street. There is a Festival of Lights on Main Street with arts/crafts etc, so you won't be able to take Main Street to the start. You should be able to park on any of the side streets and walk a very short distance to the City Hall.

The walk has a start window of 1pm to 3pm. Come anytime during that period to register for the walk. You start walking with a set of directions as soon as you get registered. Plan on staying after the walk to see the annual Festival of Lights Parade that begins just after dark.
