I came upon this website recently too. I am starting this week, so I will let you know how it goes. I did 19 in my pretest. I am in a 30/30 cycling/strength training group fitness class, so I had a leg up! Wish me luck...6 weeks from now includes the holidays.

Ugh - I am re-doing Week 4. I caught a cold from my daughter and that killed my week. I can still do 30 and not feel dead. So, thats it.

I hear you NRLB75. I have been inconsistent also. But i said enough. I am going into the 3rd week. Took another test and did 25. Up 15 from the very first one. Keep on pushing everyone. We can make this to the end.

Shoppingchick how did you do on your 1st day? I find it fun and encourging. I really like having a weekly plan to go by so much so that i am also following a plan to build up my endurance on running. That too is fun and is working also.

I've been inconsistent in my challenge efforts, but the today will be wk 3 day 2. Wk 3 Day 1 nearly killed me, but I did a total of 83! I can't believe it. I had to take more time in between sets, but I did finsish them. The goal today is 91. Craziness!!! Good luck all.

keywest3 good job with your 2nd test. Just look at how many you can do all at once.

H3H sir great job also.

I did my 2nd test yesterday and really improve a total of 25. I only did 10 on the 1st one.

We are such a strong pushy group. I am sorry i like to throw those puns in there makes it more fun.

Welcome, ShoppingChick. I call my arm fat "wings" 'cause I'm convinced that if I stand there and flap my arms up and down fast enough, I might take flight!

Way to go, H3H. Almost 10% improvement in just 2 weeks is awesome!

My right arm and shoulder hurts a bit from playing Wii tennis, so I'm gonna give it a day or two to feel better before ripping at it again. See you then.

Took the second test and I fizzled out at 35.Thats 10 more than my initial test.

I think you really need a warm up before going for max reps. Next test I will do a couple of 10 rep warm ups before going for it.

I'm in! I heard about it a few weeks ago. I have major flags (flabby arms as Oprah so lovingly calls them), plus poor upper body strength, will start this afternoon!

couldn't wait till tomorrow to do week 2 test. 2 weeks ago, I did 24 pushups. Just now I did 35, 27 of them in one minute. A net gain of 11 pushups. Somehow I expected more. Onward....

H3H: 83, whew! You're gonna sail right through this.

I agree that week 3 looks brutal, but hey...this IS a challenge, after all. Keep it up!!

woohooo, guy and girls! you all are killin it!!

I'm on last workout of week #2, third column, modified pushups. Total pushups today: 69, 15 of which were in the last set.

I don't know HOW the creator did it, but the number I am required to do is the VERY MOST I can possibly do. Maybe it's my brain playing tricks on me, but each and every single time, I struggle severely to make just that very last pushup required.

Did 24 pushups on initial test. We'll see in 2 days how much these 2 weeks have improved my arms. crossing my fingers.

Hola all! Yesterday was day 3 of wk 2. Did 50 something total pushups. Tomorrow is day 1 wk 3. I'm supposed to do 83!!!! That's just unbelievable to me.

Need to get caught up on my progress. Everyone is doing so well. It is actually fun and i look forward to my every other day push ups. So i did week 2 day 1 on tues and did a total of 47 (20 on the last set). The form is so much better than the first day. Oh and i am using the 2nd column modify version. just completed week 2, day 2. did what was required: 16, then 13,11,11, and last set of at least 15. That's exactly how many I did. So, 66 total with the last set making up 15 of those.

Arm muscles are DEFINITELY much stronger!

**OOPS. EDIT EDIT EDIT** I posted the message below before realizing that I had actually been looking at the THIRD week. I was NOT supposed to do 27,19,19,15,25+! Instead, I was supposed to do 16,13,11,11,15+. Will do again on Wednesday. doh!


well, that's it folks. I've run into my first "repeat" day with week 2, day 2. I was supposed to do 27, then 19, then 19, then 15, then at least 25 pushups.

I got the 27, then 19 (barely), then 15 and kaput!

I guess I'll keep at it every other day till I get through the session.

yikes. did day 4, which is actually the first day of the SECOND week's training schedule. I know, I know, I was supposed to wait till Monday to do it, but.....

didn't see too much of an improvement yet. doing level 3, I did 53 total pushups which is only 3 over the minimum of 10 on the very last set.

btw, week 2, day 2 JUMPS to a higher level for me. Hope I can do it :(

sheesh! you had all that much energy left in the last set? are you doing modified pushups?

I entered on the goal tracker my initial consecutive pushups done in the "test."

There is another exhaustion test done at the ends of weeks 2,4,5, and of course 6 (with training weeks repeated as necessary). These were the points I suspected we would record. In this way, we could see easily what progress has been made.

The team goal trackers are much better tools for recording team accumulations. As such, I envisioned using it for a "quick look" rather than having to read this whole thread if time did not allow.

That being said, you can record it however you want and I'm sure no one will mind :)

ok - i recorded 55 as a total done today for my 1st go at it on week 1. do we record the consecutive push-ups only on the goal tracker? if so we can record what we did in the last set according to the plan only.

Way to go, Kathleesn and NRLB75! How are you doing on the challenge, H3HOUND and ALYKAT?

Today was the 3rd and last day of the first week's program. I did 15,15, 13, 10, and 15 pushups---each set within 120 seconds of one another. Total of 68. The creator of that program seems to have hit dead on because I was only BARELY able to do that very last pushup!

Looking ahead at the next week's program, day 1 appears to back down a little, thank goodness.

Hang in there for those who are doing the challenge---I can DEFINITELY feel (and see!) a difference in my arms and shoulders already!!

Yesterday was day 3 for me. I didn't think the first level was challenging enough, so I've moved to level 2 on my second set. I did a total of 36 push ups. I'm taking the next 2 days off (thank goodness cause my arms are ready to fall off)!

did day 2 of week 1's training. There was a day off between day 1 and day 2...and I needed it because my arms were soooo sore. Just at the point of recovery and bam! day 2.

Strangely, the total # pushups is still 44 (revise: oops. did 54, not 44), but this time the initial sets were longer. I really struggeld to get in the VERY last pushup. The burn is on big time now.

*I'm doing the modified pushups, i.e. from the knees rather than the toes.

Did the test and did 10 pushups ugh. So we will see how it goes on tues. I do strength training tues, wens, sun. I will keep you all posted.

IBM uptown? That's not listed on our upcoming events section of the Austin resouces. hmmmm.

Disney marathon. How fun! I'd really like to do the one in Venice one day. Could you imagine going over all those bridges? On second thought, maybe I'd better steer clear. I'm likely to topple over and right into a canal.

So today was day 1 for me. I did a total of 21 pushups! I can really feel my pecs now. I feel very Arnold Schwarzenegger!

I'm in! I was listening to JB and Sandy talk about it this morning and started to check out the website. I think I can about 10 modified (girl style) pushups before I collapse. LOL

great! I'll set up a team goal so that we can post our pushup progress till we get to the point where we do 100!

Presently, I can do 24 modified (knees are pivot point rather than toes) in 1 minute whereas I could do only 3 or 4 back in January!

Does anyone listen to JB & Sandy in the mornings? Well today they were talking about this website that claims it can help you do 100 consecutive push ups in 6 wks!!! I can honestly say I've never had the desire to do 100 push ups, but my flabby arms are begging for something. Today I did a measily 5 push ups (Girl style at that. Tried 1 normal push up and nearly bursted a blood vessel in my eye from the strain).
