Hello all my favorite SparkPeople!

I've been branching out into more meat alternatives to kinda shake up my meal routine once and awhile. As I've been branching out, I've been looking into more " fake meats" or "meat analogues" as a treat once and a while. Most of them are fine, some you have to watch the sodium on, but they are all a welcome breath of fresh air into my diet!

The one I am currently really liking is Butler Soy Curls www.butlerfoods.com/soycurls.html . Its made out of the whole soybean and has a layered, textured bite that is really awesome. They have "chiken" seasoning, but I honestly almost never use it. Like its tofu brother, it seems to soak up the flavor of whatever sauce you have it in.

So far I've used it to make "chicken" tikka, soy strognaoff, and a quick stir fry. The curls hold up very well to heat, and again are super chewy.

I would encourage everyone to try it out in their plant based dishes for an extra fiber and protein kick!
