Nice job on the tag!! Our activities included giant beer pong and corn hole (I skipped the booze) so not exactly active games. :)

Tofu scramble and corn tortillas this morning.

Of course I overate yesterday. How could I not. And the chocolate swiss roll I made was a hit!
I'll do better today.
At least I burned a little of it off playing tag with the kids. I was impressed with my self that I, a 48 year-old slightly overweight woman was able to running tag a slim and fit 20-something year old man. Go me!

Quest protein shake for breakfast, and yogurt/granola for a mid-morning snack coming up.

I went to Easter dinner at a friend's house and her friend Amy showed up. I only see Amy at this mutual friend's house a few times a year, and it turns out she just had gastric bypass. She looks AMAZING and we bonded a bit over our newfound love of all things Quest. She was drinking this Quest Nectar strawberry kiwi stuff which I'd never heard of but it was pretty good. Might make a good change of pace from the chocolate. Honestly it was like drinking fruit punch.

Hash browns and tempeh bacon for me this morning. I was volunteering at the Nature Center and I always seem to get hungry so I brought a banana and almonds for a mid-morning snack.

I can't wait to get outside this coming week!!

This morning I had a department meeting. We met at a diner. I had an order of home fries done on the grill. They were mighty tasty!

Just so you guys know, we will be traveling until Thursday. I may be MIA for a few days. We'll see what wifi is like!

If it is to be, it is up to me!

I added pumpkin seeds (raw) and hemp hearts to my oatmeal today. I think the pumpkin seeds gave it an unusual flavor, but I guess i could get used to it.

Yesterday I did 2 strength workouts, a hike, and yard work and this morning I was SO sore! I started today with yoga to stretch it out and then led a hike at the Nature Center where I volunteer. Still sore.

Your wrap sounds good! I did this vegan 'detox' diet (don't get me started on detox diets, but that's what it was called) that started each day with 'smart water' that was lemon/mint/ginger I think. It was really good and I should start doing that again. Your comment reminded me how much I liked it!

This morning I had another chocolate/banana/protein smoothie. Last of the gritty sample, and 2nd to last of the samples I got, period, so time to make a decision. I think I'm going to go with the chocolate milkshake Quest protein powder. I might also get a vanilla or something more neutral in case I want fruity instead of chocolatey, but since it comes in 2-lb tubs I 'm not sure I really need 4 pounds of protein powder in my life. LOL maybe just back to GNC for some individual pouches.

Oh yea, my breakfast....
My son wanted quesadillas, but I am trying to get more fiber and less fat, so I opted for a whole wheat wrap with baked tofu, homemade goddess dressing (which is Tahini based), lots of greens and cherry tomatoes. My son thought it was weird, but I thought it was delicious.
I have also been starting my days off with lemon/ginger or lemon/cayenne water to stimulate my metabolism.
I also quit the melatonin and I have been sleeping fine, but having better dreams. After watching Dr. Strange last night, I dreamt that Benedict Cumberbatch (we like to call him Cucumber-patch) was my lover. How's that for a good dream! emoticon

I will have to try that protein powder next time I need some.
MISSHARTUNG - sorry your tummy is feeling squishy. I had a little of that yesterday too. Some more solid foods for a while will probably help, but here is a smoothie you can try that only has some banana in it and is high in protein.

1/2 banana (frozen is great)
1 scoop protein powder
1 tablespoon cocoa or cacao powder
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1-2 cups milk of choice
Ice if you want it more frozen

Love the I-Gave-Birthday idea. Happy birthday to him!

And hope your tummy's feeling better soon.

Have I mentioned my new obsession with these Quest protein powders?! This morning I'm having a peanut butter banana milkshake - I mean, protein shake - for breakfast. It's SO GOOD!

Peanut butter protein powder, frozen banana, soy milk, and some ice.

Happiest of birthdays to your boy!! Sounds like he was treated like a king! (As one should be on their birthday!)

After having a squishy tummy off and on since Saturday I did a little reading and apparently I should be avoiding fruits for 48 hours to be more gentle on my stomach. I've been piling the fruits on thinking oooh vitamins! Instead of my smoothie this morning I warmed to tumaro's brand tortillas for breakfast. Not particularly nutritious, but I think it is doing the trick (knock on wood)!

Today is my I-Gave-Birthday, in other words, it is my son's 12th birthday! So I made him his favorite breakfast of corn grits with cheddar cheese, refried beans, and hot sauce. I added avocado and tomato salsa to mine (he doesn't like avocado but I loooove it!). It's a very filling and satisfying breakfast.
Should keep me going till lunch, which will be light because we are going out for Indian food tonight. It is so hard to not overeat when it is Indian food, but I will do my best to stay within calorie range.

I added a half frozen banana (a whole banana, half frozen, not a half a banana, frozen. hahahahaha) to the chocolate protein powder I don't like as much, along with rice milk and some ice. It definitely improved the taste, but there's still an aftertaste to this powder. It's only three servings so I'll get through it but I'm thinking I strongly prefer the Quest powders to this 100% Whey one.

That sounds like one of my favorite smoothie combos. It reminds me of an orange creamsicle.

Waffles again today because there was leftover batter. Added some strawberries and some tempeh strips.

I go through smoothie phases, generally related to the weather. I definitely like warm things on cold mornings and cold things on warm mornings. And even mid smoothie phase, I don't want one every single morning. Sometimes I really want toast or an egg or something ... solid. :)

I'm digging the Quest protein powders right now though. Both the cookies & cream and the chocolate milkshake have been really good blended with rice milk and some ice. The 100% whey one I got is OK, but not as good. Seems grittier. Good news is they sell the Quest stuff at my regular grocery store so I'll do some price comparisons and see where I can get the best deal. A tub of it will last awhile.

I made flax blueberry waffles this morning. I should try the applesauce instead of maple syrup because I feel like that ruins the whole thing, but I like some sweet on top. I only use a tiny bit.

Got out in my garden again - the weather has been gorgeous. Burned 300 calories digging in compost!

I too, generally like something warm in the morning! I'm currently in a smoothie kick though! This morning hubby made pancakes. Thoughtful guy that he is, he didn't use oil on the pan when cooking them and he topped mine with unsweetened applesauce instead of syrup!! He's a thinker, that one. The apple sauce saved 120 calories on it's own!

I'll have to check out some of those powders.
I'm just not a smoothie person in the morning. I like them better as an afternoon snack. I think I just like to have something warm in the A.M. so this morning it was scrambled eggs (1 whole 1 white) with mushrooms, onion, and spinach wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla.
Also my regular coffee and some lemon water.

Yesterday kept me on my feet for most of the day. After a big baking session I took my dog for a walk to pick up my son at school - about 2 miles- but i forgot to turn off my exercise tracker when I got home and then I had to rush to a volunteer thing where I was standing and interacting with people for three hours. At the end of the night it said I had burned 1400 calories! I only ate about 1450 in total (I barely got to eat anything I baked because it all got gobbled up at the event and by my boys at home). It was tempting to eat some more, but it was so close to bedtime, I was good and just drank water.

I went to GNC and got several sample sizes of various protein powders. This morning I'm having Quest Cookies & Cream blended with rice milk and a little ice and I have to say it's pretty damn good. Also got quest peanut butter and chocolate and some chocolate whey protein to try.

I'll look for that Bob's. thanks!

My hubby likes a vanilla protein powder with chia seeds by Bobs Red Mill. He said the chia seeds help thicken it up.

This morning is my last nectarine and orange smoothie :( I've really loved them this week. I think I will pull them back out again soon!

I'm not vegan (anymore). I've asked this question multiple places now and get a thousand different answers and arguments for and against the same powder. hahaha I think I'm just going to have to experiment for myself. I'd rather do a vegan protein, but my highest priority is really taste, followed by a clean ingredient list. I have the nutribullet so blending is fine. I'm just trying to find something that I don't have to add lots of other ingredients and calories to to make palatable.

Spirutein is also good and it comes in a lot of flavors but I think it really needs to be blended rather than stirred coz it clumps.

This morning was a typical breakfast of "cheesy toast". It's Dave's killer bread (or other whole grain bread) with tempeh bacon and a swiss deli slice melted on top. I also tried starting out with some lemon/cayenne water. Wow! I can really feel it working through my system!

Are you vegan? I've been using Simple Truth organic whey powder and I really like it. Of course, I think it is milk whey and if you don't have King Soopers or City market, you probably can't get it. I've also tried Trader Joe's soy protein and it was okay. I haven't tried that many so I'm in the market myself. Let us know if you find something good.

Does anyone have a favorite protein powder? I am nearing the end of my giant tub of Vega Protein & Greens (Vanilla) and while it's OK, I don't love it. It's much better blended into a smoothie with fruit and milk and then the calorie count starts getting high. I'd love to find a protein powder that tastes good enough to just blend with water/ice. Ideas?

That being said, this morning I had a smoothie with rice milk, vega, mango, and blueberries, and it was quite tasty.

One of our favorite breakfasts - tofu scramble w/peas and carrots in it and 2 organic corn tortillas. These are new to us, but they were very good and held up better than regular corn tortillas. We love our corn tortillas, but I am trying to stay away from GMO foods. Unfortunately, these organic ones cost 6x as much, so we won't be eating as many of them.

Saturday I went to another county for a music festival. I took a smoothie with me on the drive down.

Yesterday was hubby's birthday and he requested an oatmeal bowl. Mine was was loaded with a bit a PB2, raspberries, clementine slices, banana, and blueberries. It was really tasty and SUPER filling.

This marvelous Monday morning I went back to smoothies this time I used a Wyman's frozen blend and added a bit of lime juice. I have found I really enjoy the added zip from the citrus.

Like every morning, a smoothie is on the menu. I change up the frozen fruits nearly every day, but greens and almond milk go into each one. Today's breakfast smoothie consists of spinach, banana, strawberries, blueberries, hemp hearts, Chia seeds and unsweetened almond milk. Yum!

Ready to match my outside to my inside. Ready to match my weight to my lifestyle. Ready to live the life I already have, but in the way that I've always wanted.

This morning I had a frozen waffle that instead of putting butter and syrup on I dipped into a fruit smoothie that I made!

This weekend I cut back to added oils and sugars as they were really starting to creep back in. The difference in my skin in just two days is amazing!! I didn't every realize how oily my face felt until that extra oil was gone!

Cleaning out the fridge before leaving. Gonna be yogurt for breakfasts and snacks! With granola this morning, but that was the last of it.

Currently snacking on Good Thins and hummus.

Hubby put together overnight oats while I was out last night and it was such a treat to wake up to this morning!

If it is to be, it is up to me!

Lentil bread toast, an egg, and some farmer's cheese topped with green onion. So good!

More yogurt and granola this morning. Been having a major pancake craving lately, which is weird for me. If it sticks around, I'll have to make it happen this weekend. :)

Lentil toast, one egg, cheddar, and a morningstar veggie sausage. I always feel SO FULL after a breakfast like this and it's not bad on calories.
