Friday morning I had just a smoothie for breakfast! I wanted to be able to enjoy a drink in the evening so I cut out a few little 'extras' through out the day for balance. I didn't 'need' the mini bagel!

This morning we had berries and oatmeal before running a few errands!

It's still warm here mostly though it's cool in the mornings. I wasn't so upset about getting up, but I was extremely angry when reality sunk in that it's still only Thursday. hahahaha

This morning I had egg whites, veggie sausages, an english muffin, and some grapes. I like these sausages much more than any other kind I've tried. They're the Yves refrigerated ones. I think I like them because they're milder and don't have that sausage smell as much.

Hi Muffiy! All of your breakfast stuff sounds good!

Jenna, I agree with you on the dark days. It seems like I should be hibernating.

I know today I won't have time to leave my desk, well - maybe if I am lucky I will be able to get away a bit. But I've got to expect that I will be sitting tight so I couldn't bring anything that has to be heated. I am having cottage cheese with almonds and cinnamon for breakfast, along with my chai.

Welcome back! I had the same thing happen just a little while ago!

Smoothie and mini bagel for me again today! I wasn't very motivated to get going this morning! The morning darkness really affects me! I just wanted to stay home and have a nice quiet day! Now that I'm at school I will make the most of it!

If it is to be, it is up to me!

Oh hey strangers! ;)

I know I've been MIA ... got out of the habit and stopped getting the reminder emails and so forth.

I'm still doing my high protein low fat veggie diet, so basically I live on egg whites and greek yogurt. Since this is the breakfast thread ... that's all i eat three meals a day.

Last week I made protein pancakes, a crockpot egg casserole, and egg muffins and ate that all week with some fruit and veggies thrown in for good measure.

This morning I am having an omelet with cottage cheese. I did bring my chai latte but no fruit. If I decide I want fruit I can either run to the cafeteria or to the small store that we have in the building...or there is a shop just down on the corner - lots of choices. I didn't buy enough fruit this week I guess. Plus, I've seen a half pound increase with my weight, maybe I need to cut the fruit a bit...or the nuts. Probably the nuts, ha!

I had french toast yesterday too! I just used a flax egg. I've also made it by using chia seeds too. I love using the chia seeds! This morning I had two slices of toast (not the small slices either). It stood by me, though!

JLEFAE, what kind of spirulina do you use? I love french toast, haven't had it in years.

I wanted a smoothie but that didn't work out. I am having the leftover omelet half with a side of mixed greens and a peach. I have a chai latte with almond milk and blueberries for later.

Starting my Sunday off right with a green smoothie - spinach, pineapple, orange, kiwi, coconut milk, cantaloupe, and spirulina, with hemp hearts and coconut flakes on top. I made a huge batch and could only consume half, so I put the rest in the fridge for later. I also had avocado toast and of course, coffee with almond milk, matcha, and stevia.

i also did yoga and I will be hiking with my dog and family later. In between all that, I am working on my thesis! I need brain power!

Yes, blenders can be very loud in the morning!
I've been blending up some matcha tea powder with almond milk in a personal blender in the morning. It makes it nice and frothy and then I add that to my coffee. It seems like a lot of caffeine, but I find it gives me more energy than coffee alone, and I get the health benefits of the matcha. But yeah, I get up a lot earlier than Jack, so i am always afraid of waking him up!

This morning I had some of that and used up the last of the bread by making french toast - no not vegan, but I was craving something eggy and it's a great way to use up old bread. And it kept me pretty satisfied until lunch.

I had an Rx Bar before my run, then after my run I had an egg white omelet with veggies, a side of greens and fresh fruit. I had breakfast with a bunch of my running friends after our run this morning, it was so nice to visit and laugh!

I was going to have a smoothie but since I did that last night, I instead chose steel cut oats with dried cherries, almonds and almond milk. I have measured out my walnuts and almonds for the day so I don't overeat those. I have my chai latte with almond milk and raspberries.

Jenna, I am going to look up recipes for tofu scramble. I don't eat a lot of tofu but I love scrambled eggs so it might be a good alternative for me. And it doesn't seem like it would be that difficult!

Before my morning run I had an Rx Bar for breakfast, and then after my run my treat was a caramel macchiato - okay, not a healthy choice but I ran eight miles so I decided it was okay. I took today off work so I am not gorging myself on almonds and walnuts, so that helps.

The consistency never bothered me the next day. Depending on what I put in, I sometimes gave it a stir or a shake first, but nothing major!

When you made your smoothies at night did they hold up okay? Did you freeze them or just put them in the fridge? I might try that.

Today, more of the same, omelet and hash browns!

Thankfully hubby and I get up at the same time. When we were living in an apartment with very thin walls we used to make our smoothies the night before so as to not disturb the neighbors!

More of the same for breakfast! Smoothie, granola and yogurt.

It is very warm here as well, we are expected to have record highs today, in the 90s. I love summer and hot weather so I am not complaining but for my running, that kind of heat is tough.

I would love a smoothie for breakfast but my blender is so loud and I don't want to wake my DH! He says it is okay but I know I don't like to be waken early so I try to be respectful of his sleep. He thinks he will sleep through it but that thing is CRAZY loud!

My breakfast today...is of course the leftover omelet and hash browns from the other day!

Oh boy! That sounds like a lot of food!

Breakfast today was the same as yesterday. Smoothie and a little bit of yogurt and granola. The yogurt and granola is such a treat! We are very warm here in Northern Maine. It is eerie to be waking up and it already is in the upper 60s in the last week of September! We are generally having frost in the mornings by now! As much as I love the summer, there isn't anything out there to match fall in Maine. I'm ready for it!

We went out to breakfast yesterday and I ordered a veggie egg white omelet with hashbrowns. They made it wrong, they made it with whole eggs. I didn't even point it out to them but they noticed and brought me the corrected one, and let me keep the other so I have a lot of leftovers - I will be eating veggie omelets for a few days this week....with hash browns!

Next time I go to Whole Foods I will look at dairy free cheeses. I wrote down these brands. I only go to Whole Foods once every three months or so because it's too far (it's close to work but traffic over there is horrendous). I like particular cheeses, Feta, Parmesan and cottage cheese. There are others I eat sometimes but those are the ones I eat the most.

I do some paper crafts and counted cross stitch but not as much as I used to - just sooo busy!

I am having a breakfast salad, egg whites, pesto and roasted red peppers on a bed of spinach.

Chao is they brand of this dairy free cheese and I really enjoy it!! I can even find it near the tofu at our local Walmart! My most favorite dairy free cheese is by Follow Your Heart. The only trouble is, nobody up here sells it I have to wait for my monthly trips to the 'city' to get my hands on it! For shredded cheese I like Daiya.

Quilting gets me through the long, dark winter nights up here in Northern Maine. When it is pitch black at 4pm, you need some great fabric to brighten your life!

This morning's breakfast was a smoothie and one slice of toast.

If it is to be, it is up to me!

Quilting is such a beautiful thing. I would love to dabble in that, I have friends and family who do, but I have too many hobbies!

What is chao cheese Misshartung? I need to find out about vegan cheeses if I am to every get away from dairy. I had cheese in three meals yesterday. Yikes.

This morning I am having quinoa with pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger, maple syrup (real stuff), almond milk and pecans. I didn't have a recipe so I hope it is yummy! I think it will be and I am excited about it!

Oh wow, a quit retreat sounds like a lot of fun! So you are a quilter Misshartung? We have a very good quilting show in Paducah, Kentucky, where I used to live - my in-laws, stepson and many friends still live there.

This morning I am going to have quinoa with feta, dried cherries and almonds. Wish I had remembered to bring some fresh greens. But I do have some blackberries for later and my chai with almond milk.

Can't remember if I mentioned this but I am reading Fast Food Nation and it is just making me want to quit eating out at all, and to eliminate the dairy and eggs, but I MUST get my husband on board for the eating out, and the cheese and ice cream are hard for me to get rid of. If I had more time I could experiment with making nut cheeses.

Sorry to hear about your tumble. If you have a concussion also be very careful to limit screen time too!

Breakfast today was 2 slices of thin slice dave's good seed bread with earth balance. I brought my fruit with me for a morning snack. I was slow moving this morning. We have a dirt road next to our house and they are currently doing a lumber harvest so big log trucks are travelling up and down the bumpy road 24/7. They've been harvesting for about two week, but the trucks just really started last night. I was up quite a bit!

Yes, good to have you back MISSHARTUNG!

I have been trying to get back into the regular routine of office work, without skimping on exercise and eating right. I did pretty good this week with the eating part, but although I didn't get a ton of exercise, I still lost a pound! Now I am back in the field just for a couple of days, but it feels good to be hiking around all day after having a break from it.

This morning I felt like I needed some eggs to get me going, so I heated up a whole wheat tortilla that I brought and had scrambled eggs and organic beans from the breakfast bar in my tortilla. I also snagged a coconut milk yogurt for later. This hotel is really great in that they offer vegetarian, dairy-free, and gluten-free options.

Good morning, dear friends!

I am very sorry for my absence!! It has been a tough month or so for our family, but I am so very ready to be back a part of this community! I've survived my first week back to the school year and FINALLY feel as though I am settling back into a routine. I crave the structure!!

This morning I had 2 small slices of Dave's toast with a bit of Earth Balance and drizzled with a little Bee Free Honey. Then on the drive in I mindlessly munched on CHIPS!!! My downfall. My munchies have been out of control as of late. Get back into a healthy swing is a must, but I know it will be a challenge!

If it is to be, it is up to me!

Chai spiced waffles! Oh my, that sounds right up my alley! I am all about anything chai!

Yesterday I had an Rx Bar before my run. I had date rolls during my run - that seems to be working very very well for me, I am very pleased with that!

I didn't have anything for breakfast today, slept in and was resting most of the day.
