Hi, Kay. I am not a survivor but I work for a foundation who offers programs to women & families touched by breast cancer. What I do know is that the members of these team, like the women I meet in person, are the most generous, compassionate, kind, honest, and let me use the five words that decorate the RV/Hope Bus in which I travel daily. They, like you, exhibit faith, hope, courage, strength and determination. I have learned these 5 qualities will help you through your treatment...and if you waver, just let us know. We will be those 5 words for you.

Hugs.

Hi!
I also have triple negative BC. I was diagnosed in Aug. 2013. I'm getting neoadjuvant chemo now. Taxol first and then AC.

Jessig5.....Thank-you so much for sharing your experience with TNBC with me. By being an RN and involved in the research study, I'm hoping that more women can survive all breast cancers! Please continue to share with me "how you are doing?" Thanks so much! Jan

Welcome JNurse.

I also had triple negative cancer. I had a mastectomy, chemo and radiation twice a day for 30 days. It has been a long journey but I am doing well now. I was diagnosed in 2009, became ill during chemo and spent months in ICU and rehab before resuming my chemo which I finished in Sept. 2010. At the time, the doctors thought the cancer had moved to my liver so there was a delay while they decided that no it had not metastasized so I had radiation in 2011. So it depends on who is doing the counting as to how many years I have survived. Personally, I like what someone wrote about her doctor telling her we are all survivors from the day we are told that we have cancer.

Wishing you the best. Keep us informed.

Welcome, JNurse100! The women on this team are wonderful and you will enjoy getting to know them. Though I'm not a breast cancer survivor, I work for a local breast cancer foundation and they have embraced me with open arms.

I would love to know more about the research study on TNBC. My #1 volunteer on the Hope Bus/RV is a 3 year survivor, my co-worker is also a 3 year survivor and one of my closest friends just reached her 5th year anniversary - all with TNBC. Would you mind sharing info about it?

Have fun here!!

I am in a research study for TNBC. I have received excellent medical care. I had two lumpectomies, chemo, & radiation. I joined the SparkPeople coach to work on gaining my strength & stamina back after chemo. I am a retired RN in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. I enjoy water aerobics @ the YMCA 8 hrs./week. I am using 8 lb. weights on each arm.
