I walk every weekday morning @ 7:00 before work and breakfast for 45 minutes, gets my day started of on the right foot!!
I usually try to fit in some more time during the day on my recumbent bike or in the pool, which will be getting closed soon.
I have a yogurt and coffee every morning during the week for breakfast.
Usually healthy meals for lunch and dinner. Go out to eat usually once on weekends.
I am planning meals now for the upcoming weeks and will be trying some new recipes.

I am working on making a new daily routine that includes more exercise. I feel like since we moved and I get less "commuting" walking that I need to really make an effort for exercise.

Right now my daily routine is focusing on meal planning (for fitness & money saving)
I pack breakfast & lunch & snacks for the day and I bring my own coffee for my morning bus commute - (I bought paper coffee cups with lids on amazon because I tried to bring a reusable mug but I kept forgetting to bring it home/clean it out/it was too heavy - 30 cents a cup is a good deal!)

I try to cook/meal plan on the weekend so I have proteins ready to just heat up for dinner and I can mix/match sides like frozen veggies or salad. By the time I get home, I am kind of "blah" about dinner, so it doesn't have to be fancy or exciting.

My post dinner evening should probably have some more activity in it, so I am planning on going to the gym after work (it's in my work building) and then going home for dinner. I will get home later which will help the eating dinner then cruising the kitchen for snacks.

The new exercise schedule will probably help, but I am going to try to work my way up to it. Mondays & Fridays are my personal trainer workouts, so I am going for Wednesday & Thursday as my cardio days and I will try to get out and exercise outside 1 weekend day.

I keep everything on my online calendar so it sets up reminders for me that show up on my phone. It definitely helps!

No, I do not have a daily routine, because my day is never routine as far as different times every day I have to see someone regarding business or my rides to places, I do not drive & this can change regarding their schedule as well. Most days I do know my schedule 7 days ahead which is different every single day. I plan my rides & appointments 7 days in advance. I plan my food 1 day in advance because sometimes some food is given to be that I have to use up. I do most grocery shopping 1 day per. week & 2 days per. week I buy fruits & vegetables. I am not going to do a new complete planner daily, but my menu plan & next day exercise plan I do daily.

What works is finding some recipes for fresh foods to use up or are on sale every week. I do not know the exact day I use the recipes but I use them. I make a list of fresh food in my fridge to use up every up & cross it off on my fridge so there is less waste. I try to plan my next day appointment times & my daily exercise & what else I have to do for the next day & write it down every evening. If it is not a appointment I do not plan the exact time.

I do not have questions at this time.

I do have a daily routine. It includes exercise, eating and making sure I get my water in. And of course, walking the puppy.

Love the PDF Checklist provided. I remember when I did the 5% Challenge some years ago and there was talk about a check list and routines, but nothing was available (that I'm aware of) at that time and I really struggled to come up with a routine for myself that I liked.

I printed the form offered here and want to say emoticon to who ever developed it. It will be so much easier for me to focus on other things now and not fret about a check list.

Do you already have a daily routine that includes your healthy meals, fitness and your well being? Yes, In the am when I start the day with my coffee, I get on spark people and plan my meals for the day and my family's, I see my goals and spend time on spark. Then I pack and set everything up for the day so it is ready when I return home for the night. During my work day I chop out 30 minutes to do my strength training while at work. I have dumb bells at work. Then It feels like it is part of my job and I am less likely to miss it. I also carve out right after supper to try and learn meditation. I have a book I am following it is only at three-five mintutes a day right now. I want to build up to 15-20.
Do you have it where you see it often? Yes it is on my memo board on my phone.
Planning ahead works for me and getting on spark people to complete my tasks. The fit bit really helps me see that I am accomplishing everyday without any extra effort quite a bit, motivates me to do more. Reviewing my goals and my checklist every day helps me stay on track.
No questions at this time.

Slow and steady wins the race, grant me the patience I need to persevere and make it through.

Do you already have a daily routine that includes your healthy meals, fitness and your well being? Yes, but not written down. It is ingrained into my brain like breathing, :).

Do you have it where you see it often? All of my notes are in my journals which are where i can see them and do see them several times every day..

Please tell us what works for you.
I wake and head for my journal of food and exercise where I plan my day. If we are going out and I don't know where yet, I just plan breakfast on the nutritional tracker and eat. As soon as I see where we are going out to supper, I research the nutrition facts for the restaurant, choose the healthiest meal that fits my plan, enter it on my nutrition page, and then build my lunch around the elements of my diet that are left in order to meet my goals for the day.

I plan my exercise for the day first thing in the morning. I have weight training 6 days a week (upper body and lower body on alternating days), treadmill, dancing and stretching every day that I possibly can. In the event that I substitute another activity for one reason or another, I make my changes later in the day and record them.

I'm sure this sort of planning works well for certain people, but this doesn't work for me. Thank you for encouraging writing things down & planning them. I think we have to have some sort of PLAN in front of us in order to succeed. However, a down-to-the-minute plan gives me a TON of anxiety & only sets off my fear of failure. Thank you for understanding that we all operate a bit differently inside our heads.

I'm writing it down in my bullet journal/planner.

Taking it one day at a time, logging my dinners if I know what I'm making/having that night (this helps me to not overeat in the afternoon), giving myself incentive to exercise (for instance - I can have a coffee only after I do a kickboxing video)

Do you already have a daily routine that includes your healthy meals, fitness and your well being? It's tough for me to have a set routine as I have my own company and work from home - I'm chief, cook & bottle washer and never know what might come up! I do, however, have a checklist of daily goals. I also try to plan out dinners for 3-4 days at a time.

Do you have it where you see it often? Yes - on my desk top & phone and just downloaded a fun Android app today called EpicWin that treats your to do list like a game emoticon

Please tell us what works for you. Just getting back into exercising, breaking up my workout time into increments throughout the day. I've also found I do much better on my food intake if I enter what I'm having for dinner in the morning, as it helps me to not overeat in the afternoon.

Christina, in response to your question on how to make exercise a part of your daily life, I understand the challenge. Here are some tips that have either helped me or been shared on my team:

~ Watch the self-talk. Make it encouraging instead of discouraging.
~ Visualize yourself doing it and enjoying it
~ Commit to a minimum of 5-10 min. a day. Then you can stop if you want to. Often it just takes that first step to get us going and then we find it's not so bad and continue
~ Try to find forms of exercise you actually enjoy. Not all exercise is in the form of repetitive routines. If you can't find something enjoyable, look for things that are positive and focus on them. When I first started walking - hated it. I don't walk unless it's to get me somewhere specific. But over the summer as I started looking around and noticing things, I learned to appreciate the open feeling, the various shades of green in the trees and plants, the surprise butterfly that crossed my path, the birds....
~ Try something new. There are lots of exercise routines and videos on Sparks
~ Get yourself a partner. Knowing someone else is expecting you or counting on you can help, as well as make the time go faster.
~ Pay for a class at a gym or local community offering. It can help to have it scheduled, cost you something you don't want to waste and others to do it with you.
~ Combine it with something you do enjoy. Like watching TV or reading a book while on the treadmill or exercise bike.
~ Reward yourself for doing it. I have a friend who only allows herself to watch a movie or read her magazine if she has finished her daily exercise.

Do you already have a daily routine that includes your healthy meals, fitness and your well being?
Yes, I'm very routine. I shop Thurs or Fri, prep my veggies, have fruit ready, string cheese/etc. ready for lunches during the week. After that it's easier. I don't usually cook Mon/Tues/Wed, the days I work. I plan meals for the rest of the week.

Do you have it where you see it often? No. I'm a creature of habit.

Please tell us what works for you.
I have a subscription to a couple of healthy magazines: Yoga Journal, Good Housekeeping (which has great recipes and articles) and Health. I try to Spark as often as possible.

Yes and No, I'm working on making it routine. One day at a time, I am getting better at meal planning and prepping, as well as getting in more sleep and exercise.

Do you have it where you see it often? I now have a goal sheet that is on my fridge that I can view daily.

Motivation from others around me, family all encouraging me help me the most. I find when it's just me and no one like spark or anything I do not do as well. I need that momentum to keep going from the energy of others.

Do you already have a daily routine that includes your healthy meals, fitness and your well being?
Absolutely!

Do you have it where you see it often?
Yes! It's on the dining room table!

Please tell us what works for you.
My daily routine changes based on the tasks for the day, yet I do have set times for certain activities!
I am up at 6 AM weekdays and 7 AM on the weekend.
It starts with walking the dogs and feeding/watering them .. then I make my breakfast.
I study my ASL (American Sign Language) as I eat .. then I get in a workout either at the gym or at home.

Do you have questions Team Members can answer for you?

Does anyone do fruit smoothies? I add 7 different fruits (1/4 cup each) to my smoothie and add 1/2 cup greek yogurt and protein powder!

I am working on a daily schedule, which doesn't always happen because I need to work around my DH.

Up by 6:30 a.m. and out with Daisy for a walk by 7 - which will change when winter comes.

Computer work, Shower, Bible Study and Breakfast come next.

Work on a project while breakfast settles - then an hour of exercise.

Lunch and Knitting for an hour (my rest time)

Afternoon Projects

Make and eat dinner - clean up.

Evening activity

Relax and read until it's bedtime.

Walking happens throughout the day and other exercise when I can fit it in.

Working out is always 30 minutes of stretching before I get out of bed at 4 AM

Daily routine? Yes. I log into SPARKPEOPLE in the Am while having my coffee and before going to work. I do SPARK coach, check in with my teams, track fitness and exercise. Later in the day, usually evenings I finish tracking, go to the message boards and check in with my teams.

Do you have it where you see it often? My computer is where I can see it.

Please tell us what works for you. I have small goals that I read daily on my SPARK page. Logging into SPARK at least twice a day is so helpful. Not having junk and sweets in the house and having access to healthy foods is helpful. I joined a gym and have a plan for home workouts too. I love this flexibility!

Do you have questions team members can answer for you? Not at this time. I know I will have questions as the challenge gets underway!

Action Item - Today

Wake up between 5 and 6 AM (sometimes earlier)
As a college prof, each day is different, but I still do the same things each morning when I first get up.
I take supplements and have yogurt with fruit, sometimes toast with chunky peanut butter
Have coffee (either at home or on the way to school)
Monday-office hours until noon, class from 12:30-3:30, Book study at 5:00
Home for a light supper and bed early to read until about 10.
Tuesday-classes from 9:30-12:30, home or errands on the way.
Wednesday-grading papers or doctor appointments, class at 5:00-7:30.
Thursday-came as Tuesday
Friday-sometimes department meeting or other committee meetings and responsibilities, sometimes a free day to catch up
Saturday/Sunday - sometimes breakfast out, church, home to prep for next week classes

Check List

Do you already have a daily routine that includes your healthy meals, fitness and your well being? Yes, although I could spend more time on fitness.

Do you have it where you see it often? Yes, iPad, phone, computer

Please tell us what works for you. Routine of any sort works best for me. When things come at me from "who knows where" it messes up my schedule, but I'm fairly quick to recoup and keep going. I need to post grades weekly, and get them to the school by a certain date, so these keep me in line.

Do you have questions Team Members can answer for you? Not yet, but I will. I'm only 6 pounds from my goal, and that's what I want to work on this fall challenge, plus maintaining. I'm anxious for it to start so I can add that into my routine!

Do you already have a daily routine that includes your healthy meals, fitness and your well being? -- My daily routines vary so I keep track of activities on a monthly calendar. Shows exercise class times, volunteer schedule, client appointments, and required meetings.

Do you have it where you see it often? -- I review my calendar every evening and make a To Do List for the next day which I carry with me.

Please tell us what works for you. -- What works for me is 3 meals a day with one snack (either morning or afternoon). I walk 3 to 5 miles daily (try for 10,000 steps/day) and do at least one 75 minute yoga class per day.

Do you have questions Team Members can answer for you? -- I do have a question regarding the team activities: 1) post points to the Weekly Living the Good Life Challenges. not sure where to find "Weekly Living the Good Life Challenges".

Thanks.

Do you already have a daily routine that includes your healthy meals, fitness and your well being?
Yes. I plan my meals on the weekends. I start out my day with coffee and a large glass of water and a walk with the dog. I pretty much eat the same things for breakfast.

Do you have it where you see it often?
It is on my Iphone, Ipad and computer.

Please tell us what works for you.
I have found that it is BEST if I get up and get to the gym before completing my house chores. I simply have to walk out after breakfast and walk the dog. Then I get in my car and drive straight to the gym.
I have my groceries delivered and that helps me make my menu and meal plan in advance.

Do you have questions Team Members can answer for you?
Not at this time, but I am very willing to answer questions for new members.

Do you already have a daily routine that includes your healthy meals, fitness and your well being? I do.

Do you have it where you see it often? Nope, don't write it down.

Please tell us what works for you. I do the same things every day in the same order. That way I don't forget. Usually the only time I jazz that up is when I don't charge my tracker at night before I go to bed. If I do it in the morning, I sometimes forget to put it back on.

Is it OK to change the exercise commitment I made if what I have on my page now, doesn't work and something else works better?

Will we be required to do a "Win Today Checklist" in order to post points?

I work full-time outside the home so my weekday schedule is pretty set: get up, eat breakfast, work, lunch, work, drive home, eat dinner, exercise, relax, bedtime.

I have done something similar to the PDF link that Lynn shared, except mine is in a spreadsheet. I track water and nutrition throughout the day on the SparkPeople app. My phone tracks my outdoor exercise (walking, biking); strength training, videos, etc. are entered in SP so I have at most 2 places to check.

At least a couple times a week I update the spreadsheet. I have a points system set up I earn a point for each goal met daily:
emoticon
minimum# of steps
20+ min of exercise
fiber goal
7.5+ hours of sleep
8 cups of water
0-1 sweets per day
5 freggies

I've assigned a monetary value to the points - this year it's 5˘. It's not much, but if I'm following all the healthy goals I possibly can, they seem to add up quickly. I've also added in some bonus points for things like exercising when the heat index is high (I don't deal with humidity well and will often opt out of exercise) or losing an inch on my waist.

After a while I'll redeem my points/$ for something fun - like craft supplies, new exercise equipment, etc.

My daily schedule is always changing based on what I'm work that day, if there is school, what kind of meeting I have to attend, do I need to go to the daycare. Always on the go! I was hoping with summer over and school beginning I would get some breathing room but alas, its not going to happen.

So My tentative daily plan that will change to suit my ever changing life is:
Wake at 530 am and enjoy some quiet time with my husband while we drink coffee and talk about or day.
Get both kids up by 630am if they are not already awake then breakfast.
If I have a day off or work at night I get all bags ready- school, diaper and gym- and get them to the car.
If I work I get school and diaper bags ready and my lunch to take with me.
Then we are off for our many adventures.

I get my water through out the day. I drink ALOT of coffee but I also get in my 8-10 glasses of water. I do stay away from soda and juice though.

I figure out meals the night before so I don't have the last minute panic of oh no what will I eat today!

I am looking forward tot he challenge starting and with my competitive streak I am geared up and ready to go!

Do you already have a daily routine that includes your healthy meals, fitness and your well being? My routine has evolved over first year in current job. Breakfast and lunch: stock up on foods to keep at work so all I do in the morning is add fruit and veggies most days. Fitness: 5 days a week gym at work, 10 min on first break and half of lunch hour. Well being: four things for spiritual care; time with husband; time alone; reading; ongoing aim of simplifying my life and my home.

Do you have it where you see it often? No, this routine is sustainable without a formal list. I don't do well with lists except the occasional task list.

Please tell us what works for you. Tracking both food and fitness keeps me accountable and aware.

Do you have questions Team Members can answer for you? In response to a question about how to limit Spark time, I've had to focus on the parts that are essential for me. Anything beyond that is only if I have time and it isn't keeping me from something I really need to do.

Do you already have a daily routine that includes your healthy meals, fitness and your well being?

Yes. I usually log in my nutrition plan at the start of the day. Meals and snacks. Circumstances may cause a change but having the plan means only a few surprises.

Do you have it where you see it often?

It is on my iPad and I visit the SparkPeople site several times a day.

Please tell us what works for you.

Knowing that I don't consider my exercise plan complete until I have at least 10,000 steps on my Fitbit and 30 minutes of exercise, keeps me moving until I get the job done,

Pre-planning and batch cooking on the weekend helps me to stick with my nutrition plan.

Do you have questions Team Members can answer for you?

No, but I do love reading the suggestions and ideas being posted on the board.

Having a schedule and following it...is very nice and I like being organized that way.

Do you already have a daily routine that includes your healthy meals, fitness and your well being? My current routine is revolved around nursing a newborn so not much is getting done. He is almost a month old and the last two days we've accomplished more and I'm starting to see a routine in his eating so I can schedule accordingly. I will go back to work soon so that will change it up again.

Do you have it where you see it often?
I try to write to do lists.

I need a basic routine that can be flexible at times.

Do you already have a daily routine that includes your healthy meals, fitness and your well being? Not yet. I never did, even after doing Spark the first time 11 years ago. Maybe that's why I stopped and feel scattered. I will starting tomorrow.

Do you have it where you see it often? I will keep it in my "to do" bag that I take everywhere and I'm always in it.

Please tell us what works for you. I'm going to have to make my list and try it out (tweak if possible). I'll have to make 2...for days I have to work, and for days I don't. My schedule varies greatly.

Do you have questions Team Members can answer for you? Not right now.

Do you already have a daily routine that includes your healthy meals, fitness and your well being? Sadly not yet; after retiring, we moved and are going between three locations (no, I'm not wealthy, my DH and I both inherited old, worn-out farm houses; we do maintenance, not lunch.) My exercise routines have to change, the food stores are different, and even sleep patterns change with latitude.

Do you have it where you see it often? Nope, it's in my cluttered brain.

Please tell us what works for you. Following the challenge rules helps big time.

Do you have questions Team Members can answer for you? How do you limit Sparking time?

Check List:

If no specific plan, first thing in the morning: get up no later than 7:00 AM
If having plans, or an appointment, I will be up any time after 5:00 AM, my usual wake-up time.
Try to walk, first thing in the morning, even if only 15 min. Will repeat during the day.
Today, was my first longer walk, before lunch, since having knee problems.
Will take my tracking poles, tomorrow, for those downhill slopes. Painful!!!
Have been eating lunch much later, like 2:30 or 3:00 PM, and then, skip dinner, but might eat a small snack later in the evening. I am still trying this method, and have been successful to lose a couple of pounds. Finally!
Continue working out with my trainer, twice a week. I had to drop this, while selling and cleaning out our vacation home.
Will try to keep swimming, as long as the pool is open. Couldn't go in the afternoon, because of thunder showers, every day this week. Need to start again going in the morning, although, don't feel like it, if it is 55* - 63* outside. The weather has been very unusual this past week. As long as I have lived in the High-Sierra, I have never, ever experienced thunder showers and rain in September.
My meal plan is solid. I am trying to stay on LCHF (Low Carb, High Fat), although I am using less fat these days.
My total plan for the Fall challenge isn't set in stone, yet, but, I am working on it.

A daily routine is very difficult with my sleep and health issues. But a list of what I'd like included is essential. Trouble is I have too many lists and notes and tend to lose them or not see them on the day I need them. So I started putting things in notebooks. I have one just for tracking 5% Challenge and health info. I still lose track of time and days, leadership tasks and things that need doing outside of the 5% Challenge.

So today I started a bullet journal. I'd never heard of one until till I read about it in a Spark blog. I'm hoping it will help me keep better track of details, and when brain fog sets in and I can't think of what I'm supposed to be doing - there it will be.

I put it off because it seemed so complicated and I like things neat and tidy and well planned out. I finally decided it's okay to be messy (even though I cringe) and this is a work in progress as I'll not know what works best for me till I experiment a bit. So this Challenge and the next 3-1/2 months will be a trial with adjustments and I can start with a fresh, clean notebook in January.

This is what got me started:

bulletjournal.com/get-started/

I clicked on the blog link at that website (top right) and got some more ideas (they have a page with links to all kinds of different ways of tracking) and finally have a format where tracking sleep is actually helpful. Instead of the confusing way I've been doing it by writing down the times, I will now have one page for each month with the hours at the top and the days going down and will block off the times I'm sleeping and color them in. I can see at a glance how much I'm sleeping and when. Also have columns at the end to mark off what gets me out of bed if it's been less than 7 hours (trouble breathing, pain, temperature issues, other). Investigating the bullet journal was worth it for that alone. So hoping this helps me stay on track better.

With the change of season, it is easier to make lifestyle changes. There is no time limit on doing these Countdown Activities, so do what you can, when you can. Put some thought into you goals and plans to make it a happy and healthy season. You are worth it.

Are you random on how you get things done? Does time get away from you and workouts are missed and meals are sketchy? Today is the day to start on your path to fitness and weight loss. It helps to the set goals YOU NEED to accomplish for a successful day.

Here is a sample.
