i think the thing is the tiny amount you use. i've been told..dont be tempted to use more than called for or whatever you are making will be gummy.

you use TINY amounts of it, as a thickener..and by tiny i mean usually a quarter teaspoon. so far i've never seen anyone say not to use it..but i use it so seldom i dont really pay attention.
its in toothpaste and a host of other things. there is one carb in half a teaspoon, and for breads and things you use half a teaspoon in an ENTIRE recipe. i cant imagine it would hurt anything.

I see this as an ingredient in a lot of keto recipes, but in doing a bit of research I learned that it is derived from fermented sugars. Is this so? Is it ok to use and stay true to the keto lifestyle at the same time?
