Thank toy for sharing! I knew it was too coincidental to not be related. Makes total sense!

I agree with Pippamouse, I've got an IUD in place (when my doc tried to change my BC pills a few years ago, I ended up with an estrogen related blood clot) and I started spotting within a few days of starting the keto diet. So it may take a bit for your body to adjust the release of hormones

YES!! There is a lot of info out there. I experienced it. I have PCOS. The major culprit seems to be that fat stores estrogen. When we are burning fat as quickly as we are on Keto, it is releasing a lot of stored estrogen. That released estrogen can really be tricky, especially to our systems already wacky hormones. I had spotting, heavier, more frequent periods the first 3-4 months or so. That was despite being on birth control. Last month was almost normal, just came about 2 days earlier than normal. Way better than menstruating for nearly 3 weeks. Do check out the info Holly suggested. But yeah, that was my experience.

Hi Jenn i have read LOTS about this on the facebook groups. Many say that for a few months you may be irregular and heavier flow. then it levels out, and keto greatly helps PCOS. Cheak out Ketogenic Success..the one with hundreds of thousands of members. this is on facebook...I'm betting if you post this there you will get lots of responses!

Since having my daughter in 2010, my weight has been crazy! The things that worked before I had her no longer worked. I have PCOS, so my cycles have always been all over the place until I started Lean for Life about five months before I got pregnant with her. They regulated to exactly 45 days, 3-5 days long. Fast forward to about 3 years ago, my cycles changed to basically just spotting every 3-5 weeks for a day or two. Today is my day 4 of Keto and day 4 of my cycle. Each day, as I'm losing weight, the flow gets heavier. So weird!

Is this something anyone else has experienced with Keto, or is this just coincidental?
