i agree on waiting until you know how your body is going to react. its like people who try to quit smoking and go on a diet at the same time...not a good thing!!

A common scenario for folks is to decide to get healthy, and there are a number of aspects to this:
- cut carb high things because they typically nutritionally empty
- cut calories, because to loose body fat you need to consume fewer calories than you burn
- exercise, running, cycling,... because this burns more calories and speeds weight loss
- start strength training to build muscle, because muscle even when dormant burns calories

What you might not be aware of is that if you have been eating a typical number of grams of carbs, it is about 300 or more, and your body is carb oriented. If you start eating Keto, dropping that to 20 to 30 grams, it is a shock to the system. Though eating protein and fat have the same number of calories, but in the first week or two the body chemistry is not tuned to efficiently burn fats.

The noticeable features of the transition to fat burning mode not yet being done are:
- headaches (take extra salt)
- weakness or dizziness (better in about a week)
- light sleeping patterns
- a lot of quick weight loss (like 5 pounds in week one, and 3 or so in week two)

If your weight loss plan also includes exercise to burn more calories do reconsider that, wait until you are more fully Keto adapted, like around week 3. I just went for a walk on about day 3, I felt dizzy and unwell and wondered if I'd even make the 6 or so blocks back home.
