To build greater muscle strength, you should do ___ repetitions of each exercise?

A - 8-10
B - 12-15
C - 18-20
D - fewer
E - more


Both A and D


Explanation
If your goal is to build strength and muscle size, then aim for fewer reps (such as 8-10). Because you are doing fewer reps, you will need a heavier weight to reach muscle exhaustion in each set, so that's where the phrase "heavy weight, low reps" come from.

Yesterday I worked on legs - squats and plies. WOW my thighs were on fire! emoticon It was a short video, but it must've been enough. LOL Still a little sore today!

emoticon Great Workout! The Spark Videos are pretty easy to follow, but they get your Heart Rate UP!
emoticon I did Kettlebell Dead Lift / High Pulls with a 25 pound Kettlebell, Shoulder Presses with 6 pound Dumbbells, and Tricep Dips.

So far, the only heavy thing I'm lifting is me! Oh! And my 100 pound dog. emoticon He's getting older, and his hips are bothering him. Have to pick up his hind end to get him in the bed, so at least there's that.

emoticon Without consistent Strength Training, muscle size and strength decline with age. An Inactive Person loses 1/2 pound of muscle per year after Age 20. After Age 60 this rate of loss doubles. But, Muscle Loss is NOT Inevitable!! With Regular Strength Training, Muscle Mass can be preserved throughout the Lifespan, and the muscle lost CAN BE Rebuilt!!
