I always have turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, asperagus, broccoli, and 1 other vegetable, salad, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin bread and of course pumpkin pie. And with 10 people there will be very few leftovers.

I think we're going to go out for Thanksgiving dinner. Not exactly what I'd planned on doing, but my fil won't come to the house (he's never been here) and he will go out with all of us, so I think we'll do that. That way, no leftovers to tempt me either!!

We need a little extra this week ...

Today-wall push ups ever time you walk into the kitchen
Wednesday-find some dumbbells(veggie cans) and do some arm and shoulder exercises
Thursday-lie flat and do leg raises and circles
Friday-Drink your water-take a walk-get 8 hours of sleep tonight

I've posted Chief Joe & the Squaws totals on the Nov BIO thread. We had a total loss of 5 pounds this week (thanks to MrsLPN2007!). I think this past week was rough all around- but on the bright side- it's over!!

It looks like the trim turkeys are in hiding ... I hope all is well with my fellow team mates. Tomorrow is weigh in ... but if you want to weigh in today that is OK.

I'm not sure what to expect when I hit the scale this week ... I sure do hope I haven't slipped. With being laid off (stress) and not getting my normal routine walking in it might be a disaster for me. I've stayed on track with calories, but that is about all. The program book goes to press on Tuesday and I'm waiting for my team of 'editors' to bring me the corrections ... so I have a couple days away from it.

I'm just getting ready to attack that huge forsythia bush again ... maybe we'll finish before the rains come. I won't have to stop to go to work so I'm hoping the rain holds off so we can finish.

drink lots of water today ... watch that sodium ... get in some exercise ... and hopefully we will kick butt again this week. Chief Joe and the Squaws have us in their sights ... they want to take us down this week! Let's stop them!!!

Hey Turkeys ... keep moving to keep warm and we'll knock their socks off again this week!

I'll be turning in the first draft of our Garden Club program book tomorrow for editing ... so I might have a little time to visit and chat before making more changes. All this sitting is getting to me though ... I love the computer, but not so much of it at one time.

Can't wait until the Program book is done and at the printers next week.

I guess I'll be doing a little more of my chair exercises for the rest of the week ... no work for me ... I've been laid off so I'm losing those 8,000 to 10,000 steps I'm used to every day. I'll just have to do a lot of walking around here so let's hope the weather cooperates!!!

We did great ... I think they gave us added incentive. you and I lost 5 together ... and our team lost a total of 8 pounds. No One gained this week. It was a super week!!!

Now we have to find a way to keep the momentum going. Do you have all the dates for the District VIII meetings ... and any of the locations? I have to see if Sun has dates yet for hers. I want to give Betty a rough copy of our book on Wednesday at the meeting.

Joy, I checked out your Sparkpage and noticed you and your husband enjoy the slots. Have you ever been to Seneca Niagara Casino on the American side of the Falls? My hubbie and I celebrated our 1st anniversary there and had a fantastic time. We didn't even have to leave the Casino. We even came out ahead with our winnings! FYI.

Remember, if you think you won't be able to weigh-in on Saturdays ... you can post early on Fridays. That's 2 days you can do that!!!

emoticon It's hard to figure out weight gain loss if there are no posts.

And ... don't worry if you stay even or gain a little ... that happens to all of us. The idea is to have a fun way to help you keep focused for a few weeks. Sort of a mini challenge.

Just spent 1 1/2 hours chopping down part of a forsythia bush ... we I didn't even dent half of it. I did pump iron though ... loppers, hand hedge trimmers and hand snippers! My muscles will probably be screaming at me tomorrow! The weather was wonderful and I wish I didn't have to go to work so I could enjoy it more!

Thank you Joy and Sheila for the encouragement. It sure can be frustrating to make these changes and not get any results. Tomorrow is Saturday and I have hope that at least I won't gain. I plan on working out today at the Y and perhaps see a positive outcome for my team.

My experience has been that slow and steady wins the race. It does take time to lose the weight.

Weekends are okay for me. The one difficulty I have is that my husband and I go out to dinner at least once on the weekend. Sometimes it is hard not to try everything.

Sue, I hit a plateau about 6 weeks after starting sparks in Feb. Guess what....I'm still stuck on it. Guess the only positive thing I can say is I have kept the 10 lbs. I lost, off. One of these days....

Why do I do it? I should know better by now. I got on the scale today instead of waiting til Saturday. 148.
Still. I have been vigilant about my diet and exercise and water. Why have I been on this plateau for so long?
Oh well, just got to keep putting one foot in front of the other and eventually, I'll get there. Just had to vent. Hope you don't mind. Thanks for being there. I feel better already. See you all Saturday at the weigh-in.

I spent the day wrapped in a blanket, freezing, lying on the couch, sick to my stomach and with a headache, so no exercise today. Feel a little better, but think I'll have a cup of tea and go to bed.

I had a good workout today. I miss it if I don't go.
Calories haven't been a problem, in fact, I usually don't get enough. Starvation Mode is a problem.
I picked up my old dumbbells today and "pumped some iron." Felt good. Hope for success with hard work and determination. How's everyone doing? The Trim Turkeys Rock!!! emoticon

How did everyone's day go? My goal for today was to be at 140. I'm at 140.5, so I can't complain. Work was tough today because every Wednesday someone brings in breakfast in the staff room. Of course, it's never healthy, but I resisted.

How did everyone else do? We're halfway through the week already!

Had a few minutes so I thought I would stop in and say 'hi' to my team mates. It has been a hectic week, but I've been getting in a lot of walking at work, and staying in range with my calories.

I thought I'd borrow a fitness idea from Chief Joe and the Squaws ... Becky came up with this idea and I think it is a good one. Let's make this week Forgotten/Neglected Equipment week. We all have it ... some piece of exercise equipment that we haven't used in a while. Maybe we stopped because we weren't seeing results; maybe we reached a plateau; maybe we just got bored. Whatever the reason, the challenge today is to pull out that piece of equipment & try it again! Maybe we can all re-discover a fitness oldie but goodie! Have fun with it ... and good luck!

I haven't used my bands in a while ... think I'll give them a try!

Way to go! I ate just inside my range and got 45 minutes of cardio in plus some strength training. I also got in 16,464 steps in for our walking competition at school. I'm aiming for at least 16,467 today!

I definitely had to walk a little further today when I went to vote. I couldn't believe the amount of people!

I had a good Monday. Walked five miles and ate within the calorie range. When I went to vote this morning, definitely had to park further away.

How was everyone's Monday? Despite having class after school (I'm a teacher going to school to get my Master's) I still got in 45 minutes of cardio as well as some strength training. I even stayed clear of the left of Halloween treats in my classroom.

Try this for tomorrow: Try to park one or two rows further back than normal...just to get a little extra walking in!

Thank you, TIMSBRIDE816 for creating a thread for the incredible TRIM TURKEYS!!! Let's really get into this challenge and treat ourselves to a trimmer Thanksgiving. I'm going to try some extra cardio and make sure I drink all my water. LMJackson, you are not out of place. I used to weigh 300 and seeing that 200 mark fall was the greatest feeling. We are all behind you 100%. Don't give up.
