That sounds beautiful MLMOM!

My niece from a neighboring state stays with us during summer and her school breaks so we have to be on their school break schedule which doesn't line up with breaks in our outside classes and activities so right now we staycation during the school year and go away to the mountains as a family in August. My niece needs the support right now so we make it work.

Our week off in February included one trip to a trampoline park and a huge 16th birthday party for my oldest daughter. The rest of the time they played. My teens did not take a school break since they take college classes (with a March break) and also had work. Hmmm a little complicated for homeschoolers emoticon .

We've adapted the year round schedule so our spring break actually happens in the beginning of March this year. And our breaks are about 2 weeks long. My hubby's family lives in El Paso and we are on the East Coast. We are flying our to take our kiddos to see their grandma but also are doing some history stuff while we are in the that neck of the country. HItting the Montezuma Castle National Monument, Guataloupe Mountain Peak and the Carlsbad Caverns. And Momma and Daddy are gonna go lay by the pool for a few days in Las Vegas! :)

I am so blessed! I pray for many blessings for each of you as you journey through your life.

"Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength." -- Nehemiah 8:10b

I always try to schedule our break around Easter and AFTER testing! I do test my child every year with the state test as I want to see if I or my child is lacking in any skills {hasn't ever been and is ALWAYS HIGHER than the National average, but I am USED to testing after teaching in public schools for 20+ years so...} Anyway, what we do is ....
GET OUTSIDE and PLAY in the outdoors! We LIVE in the country {just moved ~}so we do not GO to the mountains as we did when we lived in the city.
We plan at least ONE field trip to go SOME PLACE EDUCATIONAL~museum~state park~ we live near DAIVID CROCKETT STATE PARK ~hiking trails, tennis,or FOR FUN ~the zoo!
We do ARTS AND CRAFTS {we LIKE TO GET ONLINE and go to the ENCHANTED LEARNING.com website~and they have THOUSANDS OF CRAFTS FOR EVERY HOLIDAY AND JUST PLAIN FUN THINGS TO READ,MAKE,SEE,AND DO! ~especially if it is a rainy day OR BAKING TOGETHER~we all LOVE TO EAT and my son LOVES TO BAKE with me!
As we live surrounded by 8 states now, I HOPE to have us go somewhere NEW and enjoy TIME TOGETHER AS A FAMILY!
We DO LOVE to visit the library! Our old library in CA was the NATIONAL MERIT WINNER in 2013 and they had EVERYTHING~!We would first go play a board game, then go get storybooks, and then go get his favorite~animal books OF ANY KIND ~right now ~dinosaurs! Then,we would walk to the nearby mall,go to JAMBA JUICE and get a smoothie!
Hope any of the ideas help! emoticon
BTW,ENCHANTED LEARNING is FREE except if you want to download a reader ,so we are members~it costs $20 a year , $36 for two and $48 for three. There are also free stuff on the internet. I have to look at www.homeschoolshare.com~I heard that is supposed to be a good website.

We didn't do anything special for spring break but it was rather full of other stuff. Getting back to school routine has been a struggle but we are slowly getting there. By the time we do though, it will be time for summer break, lol.

Post here about how your break was/is.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. Col. 3:23
