Build up the Culture of Life!
We can change hearts, by bringing up the next generation to embrace Life at an early age.
If only moral people are willing to do that, mass abortion will end.

Hey, Susan,
I have been out of town and just saw this. We used BJU for my first kids- that's about all there was! I switched to Apologia for the 3rd and 4th and highly recommend the courses. They are very readable and real. Most of the experiments require supplies that you either already have, or can easily get.

For example, my 12yo dd measured her vital capacity (how much air your lungs can contain) yesterday using a gallon jug, a straw and a sink full of water. The experiment stated aquarium tubing instead of the straw, but I had the straw and it worked great!

Donna Young's website also has daily lesson plans for all of the Apologia courses- they are free and are a huge time saver. donnayoung.org/apologia/general-sche

Hope that helps!

Katie

I need some suggestions. We are using Bob Jones Physical Science 9th grade. My 17 year old son normally enjoys Science but he HATED this book. It contained WAY too much 'useless' information that someone who was not planning on going into the Science field needed. I am looking for alternatives. I don't want to drag 8 more students through this class. My son said there was only 1 piece of interesting, applicable information for every chapter...or LESS!!!
I am considering browsing the library online to look for 'everyday physical science info.' I'm seeking a program that will actually apply to everyday life and that they will remember!
Let me know if you have any more ideas, please.
Thanks, Friends!
