Our rush and hardest market season has come to an end and we are ready to quiet down, finish picking the last bit for one local grocer and the canning hubby wants to do some canning.

Starting a two week challenge in weight and exercise and blood sugars - careful eating, careful recording and watching results of careful taking care of me without the stress of markets.
Will be sharing as much as I can. Looking forward to results and health improvement.

So I am skimming over this and learning. Doing the thyroid/slow loser focus from the book for 7 days. 2 days of S, then 2 days of E, then a FP, then back to an S - I have my menu for the week made out but it was a struggle. My mind says low fat so I have a hard time with S foods other than my boiled eggs.

Today's menu:
Breakfast - Sausage balls from their THM book (S)
Lunch - 1/2 Jimmy John's Vito Unwich (S)
Snack - Deviled eggs - used their recipe from the THM book (S)
Dinner - Chili's Salmon, Broccoli and Coleslaw (S)
Drink - Trying the Key Lime all day drink (S) from the book since it's an S as well (not sure if I will like this so we will see.....)

For my turtle trait, I am sticking to two days of S, then going to E, then a FP, then an S again to trigger the weight loss. -

Down calorie day
2 boiled egg, 2oz chopped raw onion 2ozchopped celery 2Tbsp mayo [onion gave enough carbs to push this into S helper]

peach 3oz 2% milk

salmon patti [canned salmon, GF oatmeal, egg, celery seed], mayo, dill relish

bison [ground - 2 oz ] romain wrap

2 pint GGMS 1 pint "Breath tea" 1 Pint iced water 5x8z water with meds

Apricot
yogurt and berries
Tea with collagen
Peanut or Almond butter
3 pints tea with apple cider vinegar, sweetener, mineral salt and ice

Thanks Linda for taking the time to post. I am just trying to take it all in. I have a thyroid problem as well and I have an infatuation with bread. No matter how hard I try, if there is warm bread around - I cannot resist. I do think I could do your low calorie count but looking at yesterday's meals - I am amazed at what all you got in with only that few of calories. Wow! You inspire me.

LOW calorie day [M-W-F] Goal of 500-600 with ,20%carbsfor prediabetes

B = Home made Mocha with iced coffee, PureProtein powder - chocolate flavored
L= chicken breast [cooked a whole bunch of then, cooled and then sliced thin and placed in snack ziplocks and froze them for 3 oz. individual meals bases, mayo, openfaced sandwich with GF Bread
D= Cottage cheese 2% fresh tart cherries 2oz after pitted and chopped
S= Tbsp peanut Butter

pints of GGMS and Iced water
I don't know if this protein powder is perfectly on plan but it is what I can get locally, same with Gluten free bread but I so rarely eat it I just keep one tiny loaf in the freezer for when I "need a bread" - usually I make THM breads in a mug - various recipes.

Love my omelets. Today's was 1/2 Tbsp oil to saute finely chopped red pepper then chopped spinach over the top to wilt then two eggs shipped together poured over the top with sprinkle of LiteSalt and DASH. 1/2 oz cheddar cheese grated over the top and a lid on top tillcoked nd melted together. Drizzle of blue cheese salad dressing diluted in half with dill pickle vinegar.

Served with pint of hot gingertea with stevia.

Yes - I am older, metabolism is slow and sluggish thyroid and I am not very active so must keep calories low to maintain or loose. I try to alternate and do Up day and Down days and then Sundays just "intentional careful" but not counting calories.

"Shooting for an S meal: choc shake: 1/4 cup cottage cheese, 1/2 c almond milk, 2 Tbs pb flour small pc of 85% dark choc; 2 chicken thighs and green beans with some butter on them." Such a simple but delicious sounding meal

Very low carb day - goal of 600 calories Mon, Wed.,Fri this week with 1200 Tues., Thur., Sat.
S meals to keep carbs minimal and get blood sugar back down - will see if I succeeded in the morning.

A different day for me started with a few more arbs for breakfast thn lunchtime was on th move so used a protein mocha and dinner not what I planned at all!!!


This was supposed to be a low cal day of 600 cal and I made 622 kept carb% at 14 and am happy with my day --- eggs, cabbage, protein powder, tukey leg, cheese ball and home made pie-crust like wafers for the cheese --- GGMS water and coffee....oops forgot to record the 1/2 banana

B= E intended but had a little too much fat - so I guess a cross over?
……...2 egg, 1/2 apple chopped fine and sauted in water with cinnamon little drizzle of sugar free syrup pint hot tea
L= S - salad greens with pork roast slivers, cheese and boiled egg chopped and blue cheese dressing GGMS

Snack =FP I think or could add a little more fats and make it an S home made mocca

D= E Cottage cheese and pineapple

Pain meds for back spasms making it hard to figure this stuff out today but feeling so much better than the last two days - tomorrow can cut down on meds hopefully

Breakfast - E - Gluten free pancake with cream cheese and black berry fruit only type jam and two scrambled egg whites with cup of minced veggies - did not feel good by 10am - and hungry...E breakfasts just don't work for me!!!
Snack - E - protein mocha

To go along with defining what kind of meals I eat, I want to be accountable here - I have to tweek THM principles some due to medical conditions of diabetes, celiac and heart disease with stents. but the THM still works very well for basic living and understanding my food intake and way of eating and living.

Hoping others will come along side and share their lives, kitchens and health issues here too.


I am no expert - just living and learning and trying to keep this team doing the same.

B = S = ***finally saw the blood sugar down to 100 so going to be extra good this morning …
1 boiled egg, 1/2 avocado, 1 Tbsp mayo Dash of DASH seasoning and Sea salt with pint of green tea, squirt of stevia and 1/2 Tbsp MCT oil for my bullet proof TEA

L = E plan but too much fat with dressing so is a cross over = bowl of home grown romaine lettuce[56 gm] part of tomato from green house [28g] cheddar cheese 28gm 2 tbsp. blue cheese dressing 4oz fresh goat kefir 50gm fresh strawberries 1 pkt of stevia Pint of GGMS

Liquids are pretty routine : pint green or caffien tea Pint GGMS Pint Ice water Pint mint tea

plus full eight oz water with each of 5 medication times

S - Breakfast of sautéed chopped romaine and then scramble in 2 eggs and treat of herbed goat cheese - Hot tea with hemp oil this morning instead of MCT - the hemp oil is nerve health in neuropathy so going to try it some morning - it doesn't blend as well as MCT so probably won't do it often.

L - salad with ground turkey and sprinkle of cranberry whirred with little water and stevia to replace the very sugary jelled cranberry sauce that I love. then a small baked potato on the side was off plan but been wnting and decided to go with it so Sunday Splurge.


D goat yogurt with blueberries and tbsp. choco-chips

Early morning egg scramble with 1tsp olive oil, icup chopped Romaine lettuce from the garden, two eggs and DASH seasoning was breakfast before out the door at 6:30 to be vendor at farmer's market. Thermos of hot tea to sip through the day


Packed two snack bags of salami and boiled egg, two sugar free peppermint candies and two Vit C lozenge for dry mouth and protection from germs and Atkin's bar for treat.

Dinner of goat yogurt from market with blueberries and chia seeds soaked in pint of water with Walden farm syrup for flavor was evening drink

Sharing my "Non- THM Egg Fast" but is all S meals so fits too.
Egg Fast Day TWO
[For Lowering Carbs efforts : 15 carbs =5% of 1156 cal. and 9fibers=6net carbs and my chart says 1 carb per egg! ]

I am intermittent Fasting 6pm to 8am which is my usual pattern . Feeling good - no hunger today but really wanted beef pattie when fixing hubby's dinner!!!

Though not a true THM effort - I wanted to share my Egg Fast with you-all
Day ONE: [ I count carbs for pre-diabetic lowering : 9carbs =3% of 1111calories]
Looking over the nutrition break down - am thinking this might only be a few days -3 or 4 in stead of 6 I was thinking - too many sat fats and no citrus to help liver with it - hmmmm may just add lemon to my water jug??? gotta check the # of carbs. Also added my one Tbsp of chia seeds which has 5 carbs but also 5 fibers so net carb 0 for that add. Sparks says eggs have some carb where a lot of other counters say none????

Will see how the other parameters show - like sleep, congestive heart symptoms or inflammation markers like water retention and joint pain.

My food included 17 cups of water, diluted tea; 6 eggs, 2.5oz cheddar cheese, 1 tbsp. butter, 2.5Tbsp Mayo, 1 Tbsp chia seed, stevia sweetener in tea meds and supplements.

Proteins - almost always have eggs in some form for breakfast
---fake lobster - I love it and finishing up what I bought but has lots of arbs so will not buy more
---cottage cheese - 2% - re-introducing that as a dairy and so far am doing ok -
Fats --- coconut oil, mayo, the 2% is not as much fat but less saturated for the cardio side of life for me, the avocado in salad.
Freggies : baby salad greens in my omelet for breakfast and salad for lunch black berries from the freezer from farmer's market last summer.

Carbs in the fake lobster and the berries and chia seeds and avocado in salad and 5 n the cottage cheese too....hard to get away from them!!!

Proteins for today:
Eggs - we use farm eggs from a friend - brown and free pastured - not always sure of freshness though so use the bowl of water test - fresh will sink to bottom, kind of old will tip up on one end and old, potential bad ones will float.
Ground lamb - a treat for me - purchased local grown but USDA processed
---divided a pound package into 8 small rounds and cooked allat once and will enjoy in 2 oz portions - little squirt of sugarless ketchup on it.
Canned tuna or white chicken - 5 or half a can is 2.5oz and label tells ou food values to double check the Spark tracking.

1 cup spinach choppd and sauted and into egg scramble
Tomato - pint of home canned chopped I strain out a half up of chunks for another meal and then blend the rest in my smoothy machine - 1/2 cup serving.
Cabbage - using commercial cole slaw three color mix - divide package into cup containers
or baggies - I chop it finer since I don't have chewing teeth. Made salad like presentation and a little bit of full fat dressing.

Water with meds, pint hot tea for breakfast, pint GGMS, pint water, pint GGMS pint water

Sauted finely chopped radished and asparagus in coconut oil till al dente - added two eggs and stirred, turned heat off and lid on and when set, slid it onto plate with a light drizzle of blue cheese dressing delicious!!!

Planning to share what I eat each day by meal type and ingredients - PLEASE let me know if you see danger/off plan things that I am not picking up on - this is hard for me to group them into meals. I eat fairly simply and usually in a 10 or less hour eating window so you will hear some Intermittent fasting references and also am purposefully low carb to get my fasting blood sugars lowered out of the pre-diabetic diagnosis.

S Breakfast 1/2tbsp coconut oil to saute 1cup fine chopped cabbage, broccoli, scramble in two lg eggs, light sprinkle of fine shredded cheese and Tbsp mayo - [dry mouth needs moisture added to meals so often add a bit of mayo or dressing] I am trying to learn to use a little salsa or sprinkle of vinegar but I LIKE my mayo!!!

E Lunch : fresh home grown lettuces, thin sliced chicken breast, dill relish, diluted blue cheese dressing, Keto choco pancake, applesauce

SDinner plan - avocado, tomato, mayo, gr beef Salad mix, dressing

So not knowing if the power outage would be a few minutes or hours or days, I tried to think through plan and what needs to be eaten so not to spoil if days with no power - no, we would not go hungry but decided not to even try THM plan today...Power came on after we had cold supper... But here is what I ate - now will go plug it into the tracker and see what it looks like there.

Breakfast - left over GF breaded pollack and sweet potato fries, hot tea zapped just before power went off
Lunch - lettuce salad mix, chopped fine, canned chicken breast, mix cheese GF dressing, 1/2 banana
Dinner - cottage cheese, frozen tart cherries, sugarfree, GF pudding

Qt GGMS brewed just before electricity off.

Sorry I m missing in action on this team -
Too many things going on and I have had a real sleepy phase again - can't keep awake when I sit down. so not much sparking going on

AS I mentioned before - I eat good foods but still can't get the separation of fuel like I am supposed to do on THM - I just keep working at choices I think would do better going back to paper and pencil instead of tracking - but then I am not consistent there either - frustrated!

Dear one - I have studied nd read and tried to do this for a couple of years and still just don't get it so I am not good at telling you yes or no at meal choices - but wanting to encourage you to keep sharing and maybe you can teach me!
Your meals:
2 toasts and 1 cheese sounds like E ...
Dumpling soup and sandwich breads sounds like too much carb for S but not sure
Steak and onions and mushrooms does sound like S
Do you use the Spark Tracker or just doing your THM figures???

Friday for me:
Breakfast - bacon grease =fat 2eggs_protein and fat mushrooms and spinach=veggie fats and low carb means S
Lunch was cross over - gluten free breaded fish and berries
Dinner - cottage cheese and berries had 1gm fat 15gm carbs so was E

I have lots of things going on in health and so don't want to confuse you - just being up front. But as a result of this I count calories and all my food values. Today was also supposed to be low cal in my eating plan of three low cal days per week - goal of 500calories - I went over at 711 and also fighting pre diabetes and trying to keep carbs below 50 ..I did it at 44!! so a medium good day and all good foods.

I had two pieces of sourdough toast and a string cheese for breakfast. Then I had dumpling soup and a ham sandwich for lunch. The plan is to have steak and stir fried mushrooms/onions for supper. If I calculate correctly, that is an E for breakfast, S for lunch and supper. Am I right?

Found big box of 80 Oolong tea bags for $8. Only 10 cents per bag and I am happy!!

The shrinker worked well for my travel day to medical appointment. Made the concentrate the night before and poured over ice in ice tea glass jars that fit nicely in cup holders in the car. One for the trip over and one for the trip back!!!

Then a pint of water for each direction and 2 baggies with boiled egg, couple tablespoons of sliced olives and baby bell cheese - and I was content for food and drink and well fueled for the stress of Dr office. Plus got good news and no more appointments!!!

B: (E) overnight oats with cranberry orange marmalade (homemade, sugar free), 1t half and half in decaf coffee with collagen powder
L: (S) Turkey drumstick, Brussels sprouts with butter, cauliflower with butter
Sn: (FP) GGMS
D: (S) homemade meat sauce over cauliflower, topped with shaky cheese
Ds: (S) skinny chocolate, nuts

I did have 2 vodka cocktails with dinner. I mixed plain vodka with Fresca.

11/26: My weight was down this morning!

Breakfast- 1/2 dry Oats cooked, 1/3 c raspberries, 1T walnuts, cinnamon, sweetener, 2oz unsweetened almond milk, Oolong tea-plain
Lunch- 2oz lean deli ham, romaine leaf and mustard on 2 slices Sarah Lee 45 cal Whole Wheat bread, celery sticks with 1 wedge Laughing Cow Light Swiss Cheese,Coconut bai
Dinner- Boneless skinless chicken breast butterflied, stuffed and roll up with 1oz deli han and 1 wedge Laughing Cow Light Swiss, then breaded with almond flour and drizzled with olive oil; cauliflower tossed with butter and lemon juice, green salad of romaine, celery, 1T walnuts and Ken's Light Walnut Raspberry Dressing, and an S biscuit form a recipe I found on Pintrest:
S Biscuits: Beat 2 eggs with 1/3c sour cream. Beat in 4T melted butter. Combine 1 1/2c Almond flour, 1/2 t salt, 1 T baking powder and 1/2 t garlic powder. Combine with wet ing and stir in 1/3c shredded cheese. Bake in greased muffin tins at 400 degrees for about 10-12 min. Makes 9-10 biscuits.

Needing daily accountability for me of type of meals each meal and each day so going to try to put it here. The days I track, my menus are public I think. Days when there are only a few things, I am comparing values or just getting something into my favorites list.

Venturing into the world of DEEP-S meals as I begin a fuel cycle

S foods but much purer - restrictive - no fruits, milk or nuts are all hard for me ---but it is just for two days then we move to two days of E meals.

Today was breakfast of two eggs in butter!!! and broccoli and radishes on the side
I am not usually a coffee drinker except for mocha on Suday so tried their suggested
"coffee with a swirl" measured 1 Tbsp of heavy cream plus tsp of collagen to begin to introduce it and also a tsp of coconut oil -- stirred and surprised that I drank the whole thing and enjoyed it!! Lunch was spinach salad with oil and vinegar and dark meat of rotisarry chicken. Enjoyed blueberry GGMS through the afternoon and salmon on bed of lettuce for supper - homemade mayo and dill relish replaced the tartar sauce I love on salmon I think I have almost made it through the day - will have a cup of hot water with gelatin and bit of strawberry extract and packet of Truvia for bedtime warm "cuppa" ...

One day down and 13 to go emoticon
