Today is the last day of this thread. Tomorrow I will open the July accountability thread. If you have not selected a goal for the month of July, now is the time to consider one. I ask that during the first week of July you check in, state your goal and how frequently you are going to check in with us on it. In addition I would like to thank you all for continuing on this thread with me.

As for me i end this month weighing n a 222.6, which i think is the same weight as last week. My last 2 days have had my head in intense pain and I have felt unable to do even simple housework. So i am quite certain that my calorie in/output has been off as well as my water. I amhoping to do better today, if nothing else i am going to insist we get out of the house and start looking at rescue dogs to consider for adoption. Hubby is going to have ro drive because i have not felt well enough for that. Maybe i will consider getting an above ground pool thing as well. Maybe i can find a way to lightly exercise in it or lounge more actively while my kids have more fun than being in the house ;-)

mom to 4 beautiful children that deserve a healthy and active mother

Well this week I'm up .2 which I'm not overly worked up about. There's been some stress this week with work and so I'm going to blame that and just keep doing the best I can.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

That sounds so sensible, Oma. It's just the big emotional expenditure required to meet those small goals along the way. . .not the eating well/exercising I think I mind. After homeschooling 5 kids (only a fraction of the way I wish I could do it, too. . .), I don't really have the energy to spend on thinking about losing weight. And then, if I think about losing weight, it seems I'm not so much there emotionally for my family. Make sense? That's why part of me wonders whether I've really acheived the "lifestyle" needed for maintaining a healthy weight. If it were a new lifestyle, would it still require so much of my emotional energy?

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. Col. 3:23

Val, I think we have to plan for ups and downs with diet, because that is real life. It makes no sense to diet like crazy and then return to bad habits. I think balance is the key. Mostly, I am willing to lose weight a little slower and enjoy what I eat and not always be restrictive because that is real life. I just can't overeat day in day out and expect to be healthy. Again, balance, balance, balance!

That being said, I already lost what I gained from being gone. So, now it is moving forward again from here. It still might be tough to meet my goal for the month, but I already set my next mini goal and am working on that.

In CHRIST I can!

Well, folks, it was a good week. I'll log my weight tomorrow, but I was down to 148 this morning, so I'm optimistic.

Speaking of smoothies, my blender died a stinky-motor death this week in the middle of a hummus recipe. Eating hummus with whole chickpeas scattered throughout is intriguing. Probably not the newest fad!

Glad to hear everyone is alive and kicking!

I have a nebulous thought cloud forming about weight-loss and lifestyle. I know Spark's big thing is that permanent healthy weight loss is a result of healthy lifestyle choices. But it seems to me that life is more flexible than that usually, and that weight-loss is so emotionally draining, even if driven by healthy lifestyle, that I don't want to link the two in my mind. Does that sound crazy? I want my diet/exercise plan to be more flexible in the long-run than it is when I'm losing weight. Does that mean I don't want a healthy lifestyle? I don't think so.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. Col. 3:23

Yendu- I think we all go through periods like that. Hopefully you find something motivating to help you break out of it.

Running-I don't know how well I would do with a 12 hour car ride anymore. I'm sure you'll get back on track.

Mary, I love to start my day with GNC lean shake 25 with 1 cup of fruit blened in. It has really made a difference for me. I'm so with you on the retail therapy, especially when I see things I need(want) for school.

As for me, it hasn't been a horrible week but I definately didn't do my normal work out this morning. My work schedule is about to change and it really has my mind whirling.

Gotta run. 3 of my kids are doing a free tennis clinic 3x a week for the next month.

Starting this week I went back to fruit smoothies for breakfast. I only started on monday, but it is part of an evolving effort on my behalf to get back to the good diet I had before I started in with the drs. It is only fruits, eventually I will add veggies back in, but it is nice to be doing it again. It is too early to say it is helping me with anything (weight or health wise) but regardless I know it has to be better for me than eating a highly processed cereal or drinking a carnation instant breakfast meal replacement option. I had to start doing something differently because I feel like I am getting into a funk/slightly depressed. Yesterday I awoke and wanted to spend my day in retail therapy mode, today is not much better. I am not quite sure why this is, because things are pretty good for us right now.

RunningOma, I am sorry the weekend did not quite work out as well a you hoped. I hope the gain is easily lost.

Yendu, have fun at the aquarium! Remember every time you eat is a chance to make a healthier choice and each new day is a day to do better than the day before. You can do this.

I still feel like I am recuperating from the weekend - I am sleep deprived! I gained over the weekend, not a surprize to me. I ate so so. I did indulge in cake, but I ate healthy otherwise. Lots of salad and I brought my own meat for the grill so I knew what I was eating. On Sunday we went out for dinner and I ordered a small salad, that was it! I had water and I did eat my son's side salad as well.
There were too many people for volleyball, so I didn't play, and the hike was short and not very strenuous. My friend that was with is close to 300 pounds and so I felt I had to keep her pace, so it was a social time, not an exercise time. Plus, I missed 2 run days. Then add sitting in the car for 12 hours (6 hours there and 6 back) doesn't help.
Not that this is an excuse - just that is where I am at. I was back running and at the gym yesterday and I will be leaving shortly to go today as well.

You all sound like you are doing great though. Let's finish the month strong!

In CHRIST I can!

Wednesday check in! I have to admit that I'm doing terribly this week. I'm not making healthy food choices, and not making time for cardio. I know I'm doing plenty of moving with housework and gardening, just not getting my heart rate up or doing any toning. So here's my emote for this week- emoticon

Tomorrow my sister and I are going to an aquarium in Niagara Falls (a belated birthday gift for her). I'm sure I'll get LOTS of walking in.

Val, plateaus can be so frustrating! I'm sure it's partly due to the emotional gook you've been going through lately. Stress prevents our bodies from working as well as they could. I'll pray that God will give you an overwhelming sense of peace through this time.

Paliz, your numbers for your steps and flights of stairs are amazing! Congrats on your loss this week. All that work is paying off. You're doing great!

Oma, I'm glad your back is feeling better. You're getting pretty close to your goal for this month- keep up the great work! How did your parties go? Were you able to eat well? More importantly, did you have fun?

Mary, congrats on your loss this week as well! I hope your head wasn't bothering you for more than just that one day. Let me know if there is something specific I can cover in prayer.

I've had another whirlwind of a week. My youngest went to VBS at a friend's church, so my older 2 daughters and I helped with that. We also got together with friends, went to a baseball game, did some yard sailing and other random stuff. All that on top of getting up early with the puppy each morning has made me one tired mama this week! (The puppy is doing great btw. She's pretty mellow, and my daughter is doing a great job caring for her.) But I'm loving it. We're getting to do all the things we'd been putting off during the school year. I had envisioned a slow, lazy summer- ha! I'm sure we'll get some slow lazy days in here and there.

So I'm happy to report that I am down 1.3 this week. Whooo-Hooo! I'm not sure how the weekend will go though eating wise but if I do go off track, I'll get back on track on Monday. I definately believe that strength training is helping.

RunningOma, i hope the hostesses will be understanding that sometimes party foods are not what everyone needs to feed on. Or better yet, i hope both parties offer some incredible healthier food options that you don't have to worry about consuming.

I wish I had some insight as to what the source of your soreness was. Hopefully your experimentation gives you some insight. Are you adding both machines at once, or are you adding them one at a time, then if you don't have soreness seperately adding them both on the same day to see if that produces the result?

Paliz, those are wondeful results.. Are you going to use the information gathered by your fitbit to set new goals for July?

Didn't realize it has been several days since I posted. I did not get the massage - but I eliminated 2 machines at the gym that I thought might be causing problems. Also, I have been walking to the gym, then running home. Because I need to change shoes, have a drink along, have a towel, etc, I have been running with a back pack and the one I was using goes cross wise over the body. Maybe I was running a little off center? Anyway, my back is better. I will try to add those two machines in next week again and see if it goes fine.

So far this month I am down -3.4 pounds. My goal is 5. We'll see if I can get the last bit off. It could be a challenge because we are going away this weekend to two birthday parties. At least one of the parties involves hiking and volleyball. I am bringing some of my own food, so that will help. I just need to keep my resolve and not feel guilty about eating what I need to eat. Sometimes I feel like I will offend the hostess if I don't eat something, but I need to try to graciously change this.

In CHRIST I can!

Hi, Mary! I'll post my weight tomorrow, but I'm not expecting much different than the last month. It seems that I'm at a plateau. At least I'm holding steady. . .right around 150, give or take 2 pounds in either direction. But my dream of seeing 145 by this point has not materialized. I'm thinking about dropping back to a "maintenance" stance for a week. . .spending more time playing with the children, cleaning out closets, etc. And worrying about getting down under that plateau point later. I was just feeling emotionally recovered from the trip to VA, ready to face the plateau with both barrels blazing, when I heard from a relative (more distant) who stirred up some more emotional garbledy gook. It's hard to think about plateaus and what I need to do to get below them when there's baggage to deal with.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. Col. 3:23

Wednesday check in! Who have we lost and who is getting a spark goodie from me today?

RunningOma have you ever gotten your massage?

Yen, how is the new dog transition going?

Paliz, are those steps still adding up?

Val, what is on your plan for the next week?

I had a surprise visit from my parents on Father's day. They stayed for part of Monday. Then tuesday i struggled for motivation to do anything with a throbbing headache despite taking my medication as I should. It helped to motivate me to get started on the paperwork for the new neuro office.

Great going, folks! I'm glad, Mary, to hear about your finding Sam's and getting bulk meat. That sort of thing makes one feel proactive and "with it" in a new place!

Yen, congrats on the new dog. I was just thinking how much little boys and little dogs are similar. . .soft and warm and cuddly sometimes. But oh, so active at others!

Paliz, oh for a day when those desserts didn't call! I won't admit how many servings of apple cherry crisp I enjoyed for "Father's Day!"

RunningOma, I'm glad to hear you only report weight losses once a week. That's what I had decided to do. And that makes a weekly goal to work toward. I got the gait analysis done. I was running on one track (think balance beam) instead of two, so I have some work to do to retrain my body that way. The shoes are really comfy, and a whole size larger than I had ever gotten before (size 9). As a consequence, I had NO BLISTERS after my run today, which has never before happened for me with a pair of new shoes, no matter how expensive. So I might just clean out my closet and go for bigger shoes all the way round! (Maybe it's spread from the 5 kiddoes?)

I'm not weighing in until Thursday, as usual. But I thought I'd drop by and say "hi!" The pace is pretty fast here. I have to run to catch up!

I think the gain last week may have been partially due to a battery that needed changing in my scale. I'm not sure if last week's weigh-in was accurate, but at any rate, I'm glad to see the number I did today :-) I was feeling pretty frustrated this past week- I couldn't figure out how I could have gained that much. I wasn't being very strict with recording my food or exercise, but I really didn't think I had been that far off track!

Mary, I'm glad you were able to meet some of your neighbors, and that your kids have homeschooled friends so close!

Runningoma, congrats on your new grandbaby!!! How exciting! I hope you were able to get your massage.

Val, congrats on seeing 140s! It's so exciting to see a new "tens family", as they were called in my kids arithmetic curriculum :-) But only if you're counting backward. Seeing a new tens family when counting forward isn't so nice, hee hee.

Paliz, I can totally relate to not being able to resist the junk food. And then the dessert afterward. Your gain wasn't much, so you must not have indulged as much as you thought you did. You can get that off in no time.

Other news with me- we got a puppy for our daughter for her 9th birthday. It's pretty exciting, but pretty tiring. I had forgotten how much pupies are like babies. Thankfully she isn't super spastic. She's actually really calm compared to how our first dog was as a puppy. Our older dog doesn't like her yet. She keeps growling whenever the puppy approaches her to play. She already seems less threatened though, so I'm hoping within a few weeks they'll be best buds.

Well i got up, got the yard mowed, we got some weeds mowed, worked around the house, some visited with neighbors, primarily chatting about the HOA, marniated pork chops for dinner, which I have not started, and now I am lounging here while my older kids are out at a pool with a neighbor. I am sure I could be doing something mor productive, but I am not. My weight was the same this week as last. I will be looking to set up my computer this week so I can fill in my paperwork and get in with the new neurologist.

Well today was the first off hubby's alternative work schedule extra days off. We get one every other friday. So today we went out changed out licenses/voter's registration, and tags. Then we took the kids to dinner and followed it with a trip to best buy in attempt to get things to better get our household cable working. Then we joined sam's club so I could get better prices on meats. Ground beef was about a dollar cheaper a pound, which is a deal enough, but in addition to that the quality of the ground beef wa at the 90/10 versus the 75/25 that I had been picking up at the local grocery mart.... So that made it an even better deal (please don't try to tell me about pink slime, cause my kids love hot dogs, and that is like pink slime in a casing ;-). ). I think I picked up a least 10 days worth of meat.

Tomorrow is weigh in day and yard work... Hopefully hubby can help with some minor organizing issues which i seem to be struggling.

Val, I only record my weight loss once a week on spark. For me, if I don't step on the scale, that means I don't want to face the consequences of what I did. This whole week the scale has just moved between 177.2 and 177.4. So, pretty stable.

I gotta run. We have a deaf Bible study this evening and I just got back from the gym and need to get in the shower and get ready.

Have a great weekend everyone!

So it's weigh in day for me. I can say it was much easier to resist the scale this week. I got on the scale and was momentarily excited by what it showed. However, sensiblity kicked in and I decided to pop a battery out and then put it back so it would recalibate. The new number showed a .2 gain. I know it's not lot but it's still a little disappointing. Course I also know that every time I told myself I was going to eat cleaner this week I did the exact opposite and binged on junk. I'm not sure if today will be much better for the simply fact that I'm donating blood and I can never resist the keebler snacks afterwards emoticon And I know that tomorrow my dh is making stromboli which is so not healthy but I probably won't eat much of it. Right so I need to go out and mow so have a good morning everyone.

Paliz, so glad you took that pedometer for a walk around the house the other evening! Woohoo!

RunningOma, do you log your weight when you weigh every day, or just 1ce/wk?

Yen, sorry about the 2 pounds. I sympathize. I went up quite a bit last month with the travel!

Mary, that's really fun about the homeschool girl in your neighborhood!

I was 149 yesterday morning and this morning. Wow! The 140's! Haven't seen that for a long time! I'm skeptical about it being for real. Time will tell.

Mary - I usually write my food down in a notebook and then sit down and enter it later. At the beginning I needed to enter my food so I got an idea of what I was really eating. I wasn't a very good guesser. It sure does help me keep accountable. If it weren't for tracking food and exercise here I probably wouldn't be on spark.

I did better in my eating yesterday. Today I will be playing volleyball and that will be my exercise for the day.

As someone that used sparkpeople trackers strictly historically, it does me no good. When i tried to use them " real time" i spent so much time pn my duff i never did anything but sit and eat.

Mary - actually spark does the adjusting for you - you just have to put in how much exercise you do, how many calories you burn, goal dates, etc. I am so thankful for the many tools here.

Nice you met some fellow homeschoolers!

My 9th grandblessing was born yesterday! A girl, but believe it or not, I don't even have the stats yet. They called before she was even weighed!

Good job and getting your steps in Paliz!

Runningoma, you continue to do wonderful work. Your knowledge of how to adjust your intake out put is unparalleled inthis group. We are blessed by your presence.

I am here and checking in. We found another home schooled child in the neighborhood yesterday. She is a blast! She even managed to converse with my oldest while playing hide and seek in the house with the youngers. I walked her home and had a nice conversation with her parents and hope to get to know them better.

I haven't been doing the best with my eating this week but I'm doing well with my exercise. Yesterday I wasn't going to get my 10,000 steps in but I decided to start walking around the house and I did get them in.

I gladly accept the compliment tho I doubt I did anythng different than anyone here would have. I do know the next time I am off my medication I will insistent upon a full hormonal work up. I have too many symptoms of things being off and then corrected when I go on my meds that it should not be noted that i have hormonal imbalances when off of them ;-)

Yen, sorry to hear about the gain. Hopefully this week will be better.

Mary, sounds like you did okay given the circumstances.

Runningoma-that is great! I didn't have any desire to step on the scale this weekend or today because I majorly slacked emoticon

Today I'm getting back on track. I did strength training and cardio (according to my plan I was to do this cardio yesterday but it just didn't happen).

You probably all know by now that I a daily weigher. So today I weighed 178 - again, the lowest I have weighed in....years - probably 20 years.

Yen - thanks for that encouragment. I am still going to stick with the gym (already paid for) and I am sure I can adjust the machines so that I have more resistance. In any case, it will burn calories.

05-27-12: start weight
06-03-12: down 1.4 lbs
06-10-12: up 2 lbs :-(

Not sure what happened this week. I did all right with tracking my food, but not so well with making sure I got my allotted exercise each day. Maybe that's it. I donated blood this week, which should have made me lose a pound, so I actually gained three this week! Ack!

Mary, I'm so glad to see you back! Congrats on your loss since your last weigh in! If I don't use the food tracker and see the numbers, I start eating the yummier unhealthy things all too frequently. You must be so proud that you've accomplished making healthy eating and exercise habits so much a part of your lifestyle that you don't need the tools here on SP to stick with your goals!

Paliz, great job on the willpower not to peek at the scale, as well as your loss this week!

Runningoma, I'm sorry that your gym isn't challenging, but think of what a wonderful thing that is- your body is in good enough shape that the gym doesn't faze it. That's pretty impressive!

Val, hang in there! We all go through slumps. You'll be back to your bouncy, cheerful self in no time!

Congratulations, all of you, for doing so well this week. I think, Mary, that you've done REALLY well! I was up 2 pounds this week. The after-stress of the trip to Virginia hit me harder than I had imagined it would, and I was in "survival mode" and did some emotional eating. I'm feeling super unmotivated to do much of anything, across the board. No pep. No zip. No drive. Hmmm. . .

Well, it could be worse...it's been just over a month between those weigh ins. We lived a week in a hotel without a kitchen and eating fast food near daily. The week before that was a mixed bag of eating out and at home. Hope everyone has a great Saturday. I am going to try to hit the local farmers market and see it I can fill my hiuse with food for any cheaper than the grocer.

Well, just like I thought, my weight was back down today. I don't know if I have posted my weight, so thought I should put the number here so I can compare easily.

6/9 - 178.8

This is my lowest weight since starting spark. And the weird thing is that yesterday I overate, and didn't exercise. That is just my body. I am getting familiar with how my body reacts to things. Not that I can overeat and not exercise and lose weight, but the body does need a shock now and then.

This week I still made my goal of burning 3000 calories. Today I ran 4 miles. Now it is back on track with eating as well.

In CHRIST I can!

Congratulations on the loss Paliz! You did wonderfully!

RunningOma, you are always on the go. I think the energizer bunny may soon be replaced by you! I amsorry about the temporary weight gain, but I gree you are working towards a better you so you know not to fret over one bad weigh in. It is when they consistently come increasing that you know that something has gone astray.

As for me, I will post again in the morning as it is my weigh in day. It will be my first weigh in day since May. I will have to scroll back through the thread to see my last accurate weigh in... I know it was not the week my scale battery died and gave me a wonderful weight of about 185, although, I would love to be that "light" again.... I will hope for any number in the 220s.

Good for you! You made it without weighing too! Victory!
I was up a pound, but that happens to me when I do a lot of exercise. Yesterday I biked to curves, did the workout, biked back and played volleyball. So, I burned a lot of calories. But I know the weight is temporary (or muscle???). So, I keep plugging away. I was in my calories so I am not worried. I just don't want to hit a plateu as I want to really work to get this weight off!

Yeah, I'm down 2.2 pounds from last week! emoticon It was very hard as the week went on not to step on the scale but at the same time it kinda forced me to watch and track closely what I was eating and other things. I've also been making sure to get plenty of water this week (at least 50% of my body weight). Here's hoping for continued progress like that.

Mary, I'm sure you are ready to get back to rountine. I hope they don't take long on replacing/fixing things.

Yesterday wasn't my best day, I definately didn't get in my steps or stairs. Hopefully today will be better. I am anxious to step on that scale tomorrow. I can't believe I have held off a whole week from stepping on it.

I am here! I'm here! I'M HERE! I am checking in... Things are going well for me. Today marks one week of having my house, just about 400 hundred stickered items were delievered to it for me to unpack and organize before I feel I can get things started up for schooling the kids again, and it feels as tho I can start that next week just in time to do an American history refresher for the Fourth of July! Unfortunately, both of my desks were damaged, one beyond repair, by the moving company, AND every single one of my bookcases sustained some sort of damage. They offered to repair the book cases and they are currently out of the house so I have 20 boxes of books I have not unpacked because I have no place to store the contents :-/

In addition to that everyone in the house is loving having a fridge with built in ice and water dispenser. I don't think I have ever seen my kids drink so much water in my life, yet alone my soda only hubby! I am doing better at eating a variety of freggies, if for no other reason than the fact that I am the individual preparing my meals not a fast food joint. I am keeping and indulging in a variety of fresh fruits on the counter, and offering plenty of veggies with dinner. I have missed collard greens more than I realized and had a huge helping of them the other night :-) There is an orchard about 20 minutes away selling wonderful smelling peaches and inexpensive watermelons. I will probably need to return to it again this week to get more produce if I do not like the prices at the local flea and farmers market, which I will venture to for the first time this weekend.

I'm not doing bad this week. The steps are going well. Not getting on the scale is getting harder as the week goes one. Hopefully though come Friday i can report a loss.

I may have already said, but I weigh daily - it keeps me on track. I know some don't recommend that, but it works for me. It is actually dangerous for me not to weigh, because it is usually me saying to myself that I don't want to know because I ate bad. I have even travelled on vacation with my scale! My dad laughs. We had visitors once that she had a scale along, which is where I got the idea. She was thin too - but maybe hadn't been all her life, I don't know.
So, anyway all that to say that I was down another .2 of a pound. Progress is progress.

In CHRIST I can!

Hi, folks! Long time, no chat! I missed you very much. We pulled back into town tonight at 8:00 after a very stressful (but good) week of visiting family all over Virginia. I'm gonna take another day to rest, but I should be back in the SparkPeople saddle Monday morning. See you then! Can't wait!

Yesterday I ended up burning more than 800 calories. I walked to the grocery store and back - and on the way back, I was loaded down with groceries - a bag over each shoulder.
This morning I went for my run - burned 520 calories, so I am done for the weekend because tomorrow is my off day.
I have been over my calories pretty much all week, but I still had a calorie deficite of 2964. The scale was down .2 this morning. Not a lot, but still a loss.

Okay, I will continue here unless I hear otherwise. I am going to get off the computer and get my workout done. I did walk for 30 minutes but I need to burn about 300 more calories for the day. Be back later.

I think my goal for June will be to lose 4 lbs. Using the food tracker, I should be able to do it. I just can't be lenient with myself like I have been.

Yen - use the tracker! emoticon Otherwise I will have to get this guy out! emoticon

My goals for June are to again burn 500 calories a day with intentional exercise - which will include running 3 days a week, volleyball once a week, walking, and some DVD's. I will continue to work on ST and my weight loss goal is to lose 5-6 pounds. I would like my ending weight at the end of June to be 173-174.

Will there be a new thread for this or are we continuing here?

RunningOma, I used to have fitness goals. I think the need for me to restart focusing on and following through with goals is part of why I created the accountability thread. I can create any excuse I want for May, but the fact remains I did not have a goal, just hope to maintain my obese status through my move. I did not create a plan to maintain, just took things on willy nilly with a plan to eventually step on a scale and see what it said *chuckles* For now my clothes are no tighter, so I can only hope it is a sign that I have maintained, or possibly worked hard enough to clean that rental house and chasing kids in the hotel pool that I have lost weight ;-)

I know June will be filled with manybsteps for me, but I do not use a pedometer, as I will be unpacking and spreading things from our 1100 sq ft rental house over the new 3000 sq ft home. Then simply cleaning the new home will leave me with more steps in daily. For a goal I am certain I plan to work on eating more freggies and getting the kids more variety than the fried variety.

Sunday was my off day. Yesterday I went hiking with a spark friend and her family and our family. It was a lot of fun. 1522 calories burned in that 6 hours.
I need to take time to reflect on what my June goals will be. I think it is important to set goals, even if they are small. Building consistency is very encouraging and builds momentum to reach even bigger goals.

In CHRIST I can!

I haven't seen a scale (or a kitchen for that matter) in what seems like forever. I have no idea what my weight looks like, but i look forward to putting new batteries on my scale once my household goods are delivered and jumping on. I admit to being a habitual weigher like RunningOma, but I only record my weight on my official weigh in day. I made no real goals for this month as right now digging into my health is of higher concerns than the numbers on the scales, but i take all losses with a smile ;-) and any gains witha grimace. i have recently heard good things about a neurologist in Atlanta, so I will be seeking him out once we get into our house.

I have no idea what goal to make for next month. I think it will be a consumption goal as it will be best for me to improve what I eat after this month ofeating like crud because of the move. I know the kids need the detox!

I am so emoticon today as I met my goal of losing 6 pounds this month - actually exceeded it. I earned my "lost 40 pounds" status, and am no longer obese! I haven't been under 180 for over 15 years!
Now it is time to set my June goals!

So - how is everyone doing on reaching their goals this month. We still have a few days left. I'm going to give it all I have and hope to reach my goal for May.

Maybe it would help to look over your goals that you posted. Hopefully we can continue through June. I think accoutability is key.

Have a great holiday weekend everyone!

I did change things up in the past couple days. I varied my calories from a little over the top of my range to the very bottom of my range and the scale smiles big time at me this morning. I weighed 180.6
I'm only .6 from my May goal and no longer being obese! This is the lowest I have weighed since starting spark 3 years ago!

RuningOma it is so frustrating to have a stubborn scale. Make sure to try throwing in some variety to help change things up to get it moving again. I have heard green tea and oolong tea are great for helping our bodies burn more calories than drinking water alone, so it is something to consider adding into your drinking routine?

I personally like green smoothies for variety :-) no matter what I hope you find a way thru 182!

Hey, everyone! I was the same this week as last. . . 151. And that just barely. Emotional week last week, and another like it, plus travel, coming up. I feel a little panicky. No, a lot panicky.

Paliz, I know what you mean about some days being harder to get 10000 steps. I don't know if you can do this, but I often force my steps up at the end of those days by jogging/dancing in place while I get ready for bed. It might look funny. . . It certainly feels odd. . .but it's kind of fun, too. Those are the days my step logger looks something like "100007". . .10000 steps, plus 7 to collapse into the bed.

Love y'all! I'll try to check in again next week.

I have weighed the same the last 3 days in a row - 182. I went for my run this morning and then weighed and had sweat off another pound. Fun to look at on the scale, but I count the weight before my run since the other is just water. I am going to up my food just a bit today to see if I can get the scale moving again.

It's our Wednesday check-in, and I actually remembered it this week! emoticon

Mary, I hope your drive goes smoothly and you get to stop for frequent run-around-and-get-the-wigglies-out-of-you
r-system breaks.

Paliz and Runningoma, great job sticking with your plans!!! You're doing great!

Val, I know you mentioned in your blog how busy your week is. I hope it's still a peaceful and productive one, despite all the running around you need to do.

Going to do a majority of the car loding today, not that there is much to load. So that we don't have to do much other than drag out sleeping bags before the check out walk through tomorrow morning. Then we get to start the long drive to the final destination. I know the kids are nit looking forward to being in the car, but I know they are looking forward to being out of this house.

We can claim damages against the company. We called and notified the company before they left the house and our goods got handled much better after that, but the claims pricess can be long going. We might just have to place a claim against our renters insurance to be reimbursed more quickly.

Painting is going..... I sent hubby out for stain covering primer and reaIized after we started using what he bought it was not what we wanted. So we have one room with a couple of stubborn spots showing through. We figure when we get dinner tonight we will buy what we wanted the first time and then hit that room tomorrow. After dinner we will clean out the bathrooms before bedtime, then restrict everyone into only using one so we only have to reclean one. Tomorrow we will clean up the kitchen and scrub out the appliances then we should be free to site see on Tuesday before hubby's going away party. Hopefully we will have everything in order for a final checkout inspection after that and get on the road.

The one thing i can say is i am getting plenty of squats in as i trim and paint the lower parts of the walls.

Yen - I am 2.2 pounds from my May goal, not final goal. But I have made better progress than I thought I could. Very encouraging. I still have a good 20 pounds to lose after that.

Mary - can you claim any damages from the moving company? I would think you could. They should be insured for that kind of stuff. Hope the painting is going well.

Today is my off day. I am still logging food and we took a leisurely walk this afternoon.

In CHRIST I can!

Sorry I've been MIA this week- it's been a busy one. I've been reading everyone's posts, but didn't usually have time to respond to them.

Mary- I hope your painting is going well, and that the rest of your move goes more smoothly than the moving out of your furniture :-(

Runningoma- Congrats on your race, and the fact that you're so close to your goal! You're doing a great job!!!

Val- Congrats on your 3 lb. loss this week! That's wonderful!

Paliz- Great job keeping up with your steps! I'm sure your gain this week is only temporary, since you have a good handle on why it happened and already have an evil plot to thwart those uninvited guests, bwahaha! Sorry, I'm feeling a little silly this morning.

Hope you all enjoy a wonderful Sunday resting in the Lord. We'll all be refreshed and ready to meet our challenges this week.

This is a professional move company. Some of the indiviualdps boasting over 20 years experience. I have been steady cleaning and preparing to paint. I am up and about to start painting this morning. I have found myself jealous that hubby is sleeping later than me. Just last night he said he would get up with me. But this morning he rolled over and said he could not. I am hoping the odor of paint drives him up.

Regardless of if he sleeps or not I am working my tukus off scrubbing or taking care of this house in some way. I want as much security deposit back as possible.

Mary,
mom to 4 beautiful children that deserve a healthy and active mother

Val - yeah, we have to remember it is a "I die DAILY" thing.

Paliz - tracking will be key. It really doesn't take as long as we think. Writing on the threads takes longer. Hope you can make time to do it this week and see those 2 pounds disappear again. emoticon

I am now 2.2 pounds from my goal for the month. Looks doable!

Aw, Paliz, that's a bummer! Sorry! Any chance you can take the time to track the food more carefully this week?

So I'm up 2 pounds this week. I know exactly why and I know I need to get back to tracking my food and everything. I've set some new goals today to work on for the next month so hopefully that will help.

Mary, sorry to hear about the damage and I'm sure it will be nerve wracking wondering if anything else is broken.

Val-congrats on the loss, that's great.

Runningoma-sounds like you are doing well.

Hope everyone has a great Friday!
