The only thing I am currently stressing on my weight is that I have gained back everyting I lost. I would love to maintain during this time, especially when I lose access to being able to cook at home. If nothing else during this time I need to be accountable in not emotional eating as stress enters our lives. Or if I do emotionally eat I turn to better foods than oreos ;-)

What type of "leader" would I be if I did not ask myself to be as accountable as I ask you to be? :-D

I like the idea of the shorter threads. People might be more inclined to jump in if it isn't a long commitment. I also love the idea of encouraging each other on our sparkpages!

Another round... sure as God blesses us daily is there going to be another round of accountability in here! Not only will there be another round for accountability I will be adding my headache medication back into my daily routine once I get my visual field appt done on May 8th! So hopefully I will be seeing some weight loss in here.

I think we will make short monthly or 2 month threads? It will be a general accountability thread that you can use your last weigh in as your new starting weight and state your goals. I think I want to add a "challenge" of hitting participating members sparkpages with words of encouragement, because we seemed that we lost people along the way this time and those weekly hits would keep them responding as a minimum?

Wow, last week. Are we going to do another round? I joined that Slim down to summer or what ever it is title challenge. Hard to believe May is knocking on our door. I didn't make my goal but I'm happy with what I have lost.

My 12 year old daughter has been experiencing fatigue, sick more often & longer, etc. the past few months. She's also been growing and has been thinning out like crazy. I assumed the fatigue was just because she had been growing, and didn't think too much of it. I took her to the doctor on Friday though, and found out that she had lost 8 lbs since January! Not good at her age and while she's growing. They did some bloodwork (one of the tests they did was a cell count, which made me afraid they were testing for some type of cancer) and they called with the results today. She has a Grave's disease (an overactive thyroid). I'm so happy they found the problem on the first try, and that it's something easily treatable!

So while the fact that my daughter has this problem isn't necessarily good news, it could have been something much more serious, could have taken forever to diagnose, etc. Today was definitely a happy day for me! God is good.

We got the house and will be closing on May 30 if nothing pops up that will hold us back! As of today I have 38 days until I am in my new home. Now I need to catch up on my regular chores (like laundry) and get back on track with eating.

I still need to get 2 tests done for my Neuro before I move. One is scheduled and I guess I will need to call about the other tomorrow ... I did listen to my voicemail this morning and found out that the results of some of my tests have not been reported to her because they called asking if I was getting anything done.

Having a great week! We think we found the perfect place for us. 6 beds, 4 baths on a quarter acre, huge kitchen, media room upstairs that will be a great homeschool room.... I had a great loss this week. Directing the play does get me more active and keeps me busy so I have less time to snack. But it tends to be more stressful. This strongend, I had a big break through emotionally with something that has bothered me for the last few years. I think that helped a lot as my weight gain was directly related to stress. I did eat too much candy and I am working on that and trying to make better choices. I do believe in having dessert (or a treat) every day though so I don't mind treats when it works into my nutrition plan.

April 15, 162, still bouncing between 166 and 164...for over a month now. At least it doesn't go any higher than the 166! I am very thankful for that.

Do you see it? I am losing weight without my meds! I think it is the stress of all this moving stuff happening and it affecting my appetite and me not realizing it. Regardless I will take it as I head out the door to house hunt.

You can find him here celebratecalm.com/ and here www.calmchristianparenting.com/ I know these years can be trying, must be especially so with a child with an emotional disposition. Maybe he can offer some advice to help you out as he specializes in advice for parents of children with the "alphabet soup of labels"

I can't say "major" because it is a smaller distance than the last move (from central FL to Northern VA), but it does cut about half of the travel time to my family, and I know I can't call it a local move... We should be moving from VA to central GA (as they had promised us last year about this time) Once we are moved we should be taking in FIL, as he is almost well enough to be discharged from the full time care facility.

I have been trying to think of ways to clear clutter and I think I have decided to sell all of my saved hand me downs in a yard sale. The kids have way too many clothes and they seem to grow through them quicker than I can sort them out. In addition to that I will probably sell many of the toys they don't touch in our play room. I want to think that they just are inconvenient and would be played with better after we move, but I know many of the toys there are "too little" for the kids any more and that I should just try to move the ones the kids keep dragging into their rooms, because those are the ones they really have interest in.

Congrats Paliz!

I have been so self absorbed recently that I forgot to request everyone who is still participating in this challenge to post a emoticon to show you are still here.

I've arranged for most of my appts to take place. Hopefully soon I can start in on medication to help my body get back on track....(and over come this stupid headache!) In about a month we will be going house hunting because they are anticipating us moving by June!

Well I'm thrilled with the scale this week (even though I do think it's not quite right). I'm down 3.2 pounds from last week and finally below that stubborn number I've been trying to break.

2/6-sw
2/13-down .8 (total -.8)
2/20-up 3.4 (total + 2.6)
2/27-down .6 (total +2.0)
3/5-down 1.6 (total + 0.4)
3/12 down 1.6 (total -1.2)
3/19 down .6 (total -1.8)
3/26 up 2.2 (+0.4)
4/2 down 3.2 (total -2.8)

I'm hopefully that if I continue to do those things the weight will come off easier. I hope everyone has a great week. Indulge a little with Easter without beating yourself up and then move on.

Yenduchaka- It's not a huge jump so I'm sure you can rebound.

Mary- I hope you can soon get back on your meds and see a reverse trend.

Yendu ~ Yay for adult socialization for mom! Sorry about the sunburn I hope it heals quickly.

Paliz ~ nope current dr still thinks the cure is for me to lose weight and to better monitor my calorie in out equation.

Tomorrow is weigh in day for me. I have increased my water to being close to 1 gallon again. (I had cut back for a while thinking it was causing those low sugar grouchy feeling episodes... do you know what I mean?) I have found the grouchiness/ washed out feeling returning, but I am hoping it has helped wash out those lbs that popped up earlier this week.

It's Wednesday! come on by and throw out an emote for me! emoticon

Paliz, it may be a competition with myself, but since I am on the losing (gaining?) end of this competition. My weight loss efforts have not lasted a short time, but for many years, I mean my son was 1 when I joined SP, and here I am now, approx 30 lbs heavier than when I started. While I am happy it is *only* 30 lbs.... I am dismayed that by giving up things ~ that candy bar I got at each shopping trip each week, soda on a daily basis, sweet tea, increasing my freggies, cutting back my fast food intake (sometimes when we eat fast food I even opt for the salad ;), etc ~ those are just the simple dietary changes the world claims will result in weight loss even if you don't exercise )... and despite continually moving towards that lower weight I continue to gain. I have drs tell me its not just how much I eat but what I eat (to which I argue "have you seen the results of the twinkie diet?") and that all of my issues would be resolved if I just tried to lose weight..

It may just be a number, but it is not easy for me to disregard it since I don't have the joy of at least changing to a smaller size...

UGH! Changed the battery in my scale (it was kind enough the other day to say I only weighed 163 lbs *chuckles*) Boy am I glad that today is not my weigh in day. What a huge jump. I have been extra careful and started tracking my calories again (just had to make sure I wasn't over eating.. and so far I have found I'm not) Anyways here's hoping the extra goes away by Sat ;)

Paliz--Don't let the frustration lead you to sabotage yourself! So not worth it! I've been struggling too. The scale has been high all week for me. I have not been eating well enough to lose this week, but I haven't eaten enough to gain either. I also have not been getting all my water in each day which I know leads me to retain water. Don't give up! You can do this!

Yendu & Mary--You both have great attitudes with this!

Mary--I know it's frustrating to be gaining when you haven't changed anything except the medication. Just keep working on those good habits.

I have a list that was given to me when I left my last appt just over a week ago. I was waiting for the checks to the care providers to clear my account (so I didn't have an outstanding balance with anyone) before starting in accumulating more bills. Now they have all cleared my account so I can start scheduling.

Anyone else noticing the upward trend in my weight?... I guess I need to cut back again in my consumption, and try to get more active. I'm so annoyed with the weight gain without changing habits from what I was doing to LOSE weight other than the drop in medication.

Good job Yendu and Paliz! Mary, has your doc put you back on meds yet? I've been struggling with nutrition, but that because we have a bunch of birthdays this week. Yesterday, some friends dropped by with some cookies for my birthday. I was doing so good with my nutrition and had even worked in a piece of leftover cake, but then I succumbed to the cookies. emoticon

But that's okay because I walked yesterday and today and my nutrition will be on today!

Well Its been a week since the mice were caught. I don't think they are gone (I still hear scratching noises in the walls), but avoiding all of our traps. Today is a deep clean day while hubby takes the kids to the Lorax movie. I got my new freezer and it has been cooled and loaded with the salvageable food from our old freezer. I am still wishing that all the stair walking and furniture moving in my house gave me enough of a work out to lose weight.

I'm up a pound this week, but I'm not worried about it. I was really surprised by last weeks WI and it was lower than expected. I tend to be a slow loser.

Note: I adjusted my weight because I was down almost half a pound after breakfast and using the loo. Weight loss can sure be finicky!

Paliz I want to say that next week is the 6th week and the halfway point. The starting weight started day 1 of week 1, each weigh in after that represents the end of a week. So if you have a SW and 5 WI then you have finished 5 weeks.

Anyone disagree with my logic? I'm willing to accept other undertandings
