I have lost 50 pounds since Feb. 1 and eat 1500-1600 calories a day and exercise 8 hours a week. I am 53 years old, so it can be done when you are older. I have lost 10.5 inches off my waist and gone from 52% body fat to 28%. The last 10 weeks it has stayed at 28%. I am almost at my goal weight.

I have pleurisy, 2 types of anemia, macrocytic anemia, Iron deficiency anemia, from blood transfusions with wrong antibodies, causes blood to replace daily instead of 100 days, chronic pneumonia, pleurisy, chronic kidney disease, a partially collapsed lung, low blood pressure & blood clots in both lungs for 3 years. Now formed scar tissue.I am 56 years old. I had cervical cancer 6 years ago, no signs last 4 years as well. I have new blood clots now,2019.I am on P.S.T. time zone.

Thanks for the encouragement Dlite. That's what happened to me and now I am slowly fighting down the weight, but with the cravings I've always had. emoticon

Hi Sunny Mary and Mony Mony. This this team really is encouraging. I too didn't have trouble staying slim and fit and then I hit age 45 and boom the weight started adding up. I reached my high at 180 today I weighed in at 160. It's been a long journey but one worth the struggle. Have a great day.

Sunny Mary,
I too have a slow metabolism so am trying to fire that up also. I lost a lot of weight 3 years ago but it came back with a vengeance and more. So we will encourage each other. I have a skinny 9 year old mother, but if you watch her eat, you will know why she stays thin. She eats what she wants but just not very much of it. Have a wonderful day.

Hello Mony-Mony,
I am also looking for encouragement and Motivation. I have found that the person I see in the mirror is not the person I see in photos of myself. I see the person I was before the weight snuck up on me! Only one pound per year but after 30 years, slowly but surely it came and it seems here to stay. I think I have a healthy diet and I have always exercised but somehow I have reached my highest weight ever. Any tips out there for helping a S..L..O..W..metabolism?
I have a fitbit and easily reach 10,000 steps per day. I do know that sleep is a problem for me, also low blood sugar so I can't miss meals.
I am making an effort to stay on Spark and track my progress starting today.
Good Luck to you and hello to everyone!

Mary

Glad to finally find all of you. Passionate Tiger told me about the group so I'm here for support. I am trying to stay on track and life has a way of knocking you off. I was always thin and in shape and life finally happened to me. So now I am walking and watching what I eat and I will slowly get there, Glad to meet all of you.
