From our house to the main highway is 5k so today because it was a nice enough day I decided to try, for the first time which I thought would be a different challenge, to walk to the highway and back to see how my body would react to the outside walking conditions. About 1/3 of the way I started feeling my baby toe on my left foot complaining it didn't have enough room and was rubbing the toe next to it. At about the second third of the walk my right hip mentioned it had a kink and once I noticed that the rest of the body wanted to tell me their woes also. It took me 40 min. to walk and the wind was a bit too cool for my comfort level but other than being a little discomforted it was an enjoyable experience. I definitely could see myself doing this again on a warmer day when there was no cool wind.

To me HEALTH means Energy. Stamina. Flexibilty. A relatively pain free body. Enjoying healthy food. You are your body, and your weight loss efforts will succeed exactly to the extent that you mange to do the work on behalf of your embodied self. You’ll do much better when you focus on making positive changes to improve your health and well-being, rather than on fighting your bad habits.

My snow in the yard is just melting and the ground is still too frozen to do any yard work in but as soon as the flowers begin to pop up I will be working off the calories cleaning up the flower beds and getting ready to do some planting. Every year I go and buy about 6 or 7 new perennials and a couple of dozen annuals to put out around the yard. Last years final leaves that fell after the first snowfall still need raking and the grass needs power raking and fertilizing. Trees need trimming before they start to bud as well so I will be doing lots as soon and we get the co-operative weather conditions here.
