I do so many things that are part of my day that may be considered RAoK so I will only say that on trash day we have recycle and trash cans. I pull them up to the garage for the couple next door since they had a baby over the summer!

I paid for an older couple's lunch yesterday because they were kind to my Mom. I paid for some secret santa gifts on a giving tree a few days ago.

It's all I can think of right now outside the normal...

I found a lost, sick cat, took it to my vet, found it's owner, then returned the cat to her (and I really wanted to keep this cat!). I gave a nice girl's coat to a single mom for one of her daughters.

Was at Starbucks yesterday to get a hot chocolate when I went to pat for it the girl said it was already paid for. The cashier said it has been going on for 2 days now. So, I gave her a $ 10 and said lets keep it going and smiled. This is not the first time that this has happen here in the Northwest there was another place that it happen to and it went on for 2 weeks. It's just kind of nice.

Making a gift for someone that really wanted something but couldn't afford it. I can make it for much less than the item cost finished and more specific to the person whom will receive it! That makes me smile!!

Took a neighbor with me who normally can't go out by herself to the town Christmas tree lighting event. She had a great time and it was a blessing to me to enjoy her excitement of being included.

My acts have been small but I believe they all add up. I let a guy that was behind me in the Wal-mart line go ahead of me. It was so funny he kept saying "are you sure" he said it like 5 times and I finally told him "Yes!" and "pass it on"!

I also put a diet coke in a coworkers mail box and left no note I know she loves diet coke!

I baked bread and gave it to all of my neighbors too. I have a bread machine and love the smell of fresh backed bread so it was a win win for me!

My husband had this awesome idea to take some leftovers from our Thanksgiving dinner to a homeless lady he passes most days in our car after he takes me to work. She could not believe it. She was so grateful and asked if we needed anything like a specific prayer. It turns out that she's also a minister for free.

I'm in! I am from the South originally and have lived in NJ for about 2 months now. I have been told several times about my acts of kindness... but it is something that comes naturally to me and I enjoy it even more knowing that there are many people here that are not used to it. Like today in a government office, the receptionist sent me to the back when my time came. I told here thank you walking past. As I was leaving and walked past her again, I told her goodbye and have a wonderful rest of the day... She looked so shocked and when she quit stuttering, she smiled a big smile and told me thank you and for me to have a nice day also. You could tell she wasn't used to it but it made her day! My heart was lightened...

For a number of years I've been donating $100 every December to a program the USO has that gives phone cards to soldiers so that they can call home around Christmas. Last year I was not able to donate and this year I'm doing okay, so I donated $200 to make up for last year. I don't know if that really counts as a "random" act of kindness, but that's what I did this evening.

There was much rejoicing!

I went to Wal Mart today and it was a madhouse, or at least 75 percent of a madhouse. So may people seemed to be so stressed out. Since so many other people seemed so stressed and I didn't really have anything else to do after Wal Mart (only the laundry) I allowed the other person to go every single time I found myself in a shopping cart traffic jam. I also tried to give a smile to everyone I saw there. I left the store without getting tense and irritated, and hopefully I made a few people's days easier and less unpleasant.

There was much rejoicing!

Today I fed the workers who were on the job at my house. I ordered pizza and broke out the Leinenkugel's beer which totally surprised them! Fortunately they were hungry and left me with NO leftovers!

i work part time in retail and yesterday afternoon was slow so they asked either me or my co-worker to go home early. This is the other girls full time job and although I had only been there a couple of hours I volunteered to leave so she could stay and get her hours in. She was very thankful as she really needs all the time she can get.

Yesterday two neighbor kids moved several big Ikea bookcases for me.
It only took an hour, but I paid them for 2 hours work.
I was prepared for it to take a lot longer but they we're so efficient (and careful with my stuff), that I saw it as an opportunity to do a little extra for them in return.
They we're stunned!
I'm glad this topic was on my mind!

So, today we had to pick up a few things at the store. There are the Salvation Army people out. The same lady that I have seen the last 2x was there today sitting today wrapped up with her nice red blanket but, she had forgotten to wear her boots. I had a free Starbucks card so I gave it to her to get a nice free coffee or coco. Then put some money in the pot. She smiled and said thank you and tried to give it back. I told her I have had it for a while and I don't see me using it and I couldn't see it going to do a better use. Our weather her in the Northwest has turned bitter cold and is to get even colder next week. They have been talking snow in the lowlands.

I am so glad that everyone is in and excited about doing the Challenge. Lets Keep this going all year. Even a "Smile" or a "Hello" to someone can bright their day. emoticon

I like the simplicity of this challenge.
I'm aiming for one random act of kindness each day, just to focus my attention on this as a daily intention. I'm so tired of our "its all about me" society, I'm happy to look for ways to let go of my own selfish tendencies!

Or Operation Secret Santa. I know we have done the Random Acts of Kindness before but, it is the Season.

I know we have some New members. So, how is works is like a a Secret Santa but, you don't have to be secretive about it. I know a lot of us are on budgets and this really doesn't take money. Here are some ideas to help:

Example: Neighbor next door is elderly and can't always take out the trash. Take out for them and put it back when you do yours.

Notice the leaves next doors need to be raked and they are out of town. Clean it up when you do yours.

Open a door for someone or hand a cart to someone when you are going to pull it out for you.

So, that are just a few. All you do is come an post what you did and it doesn't have to be everyday. If you Volunteer or help out that is great. Or if your work is helping others share your stories. It is the Season to spread the Kindness and Help others No matter How small of an act it is.

Are you in? I know I am! Come on join in! emoticon
