I find it is best to plan the night before.
I could do planning during breakfast, because my breakfast is always the same, but I usually forget...so I'm better off planning the night before!

I have mine on index cards and I rotate through them reading 1 or more each day.

Today's card said "Beware of unplanned eating".....the only way that card is relevant is if I plan all my eating! DUH! Time to plan out the rest of the day.....

Instead of cards Iím writing my daily notes in a special notebook. I review them every morning, add a page every night, and keep it handy if I need to review during the day. I chose a special notebook with hand-made paper and a cover made from cane to remind me that Iím special too, and that I deserve to take the time and energy to be successful. (Sorry if I sound like an old cigarette ad!)

My advantage notes are now on my phone, and there are times where I find I even want to add more, which I have! I am surprised to see SO MANY REASONS why I want to lose weight.
And, the most important ones to my soul have absolutely nothing to do with how I will look.
Of course, those are on the list... to look fit and trim, to buy pretty clothes that don't need to camoflague, to even be more sexually attractive to my hubby and less embarrassed... but the big ones are not for vanity's sake, and they always used to be.

Thanks to remembering and practicing my skills,
3 years ago I achieved a (for me) surprisingly low goal weight,
and I have stayed there ever since, without restrictive dieting or overexercising.
It is really easier.

When I leave the office, I know what I'm going to have for dinner.
In fact I have known it for 24 hours,
so I have realistic expectations.
It is going to be delicious and satisfactory - and that's it.

When I have a plan and I follow it,
I don't think of food at all between meals. No struggles!

When I eat sitting down, slowly, noticing every bite, I enjoy my meals more, and longer.

I'll influence my health as much as I can to ward off disease. This means I am in the best position possible to live a high-quality life no matter how many days the Good Lord gives me. When I plan my meals and I eat what's on my plan,
dieting is easy and I'm in balance.

After eating a few unplanned bites the week before, with increasing restlessness and desire to eat more, I had a minor binge Monday night.
Danger zone!
I committed to 100% compliance, and as soon as I told myself with total conviction: "I'm not going to eat anything unplanned this week" - the restlessness and desire to eat more diminished and vanished.
Being at peace is more important to me than fantasies about what I desire to eat.

I use something similiar on my start page under other goals...like a slide show thingy...

Wear Cute Clothes! Be comfortable in my own skin.

One thing that resonates with me today is Eat Strategically. I'm in maintenance and it's the weekend. Going out with friends for movie, drinks, and out to eat, so planning strategically for indulgences. Remembering that it is doable even if I go over on calories it's one evening and I do want to "live" life. So the rest of the day, tomorrow, and the week to come means diligently back on track.
