I have a dairy allergy particularly with the storeboughten CAFO milk that is pasteurized and homogenized.... but... if I get the organic heavy whipping cream that is cream only, where they are careful to get all the milk out, I seem to be able to handle it. I'm also fortunate that we can get grass fed dairy and they are pretty good about spinning their cream out of the milk... otherwise, yea, I'm using unsweetened almond milk or hemp milk or most any of those nut milks. Rice milk is rather thin...not so much!!

Like KDGIRL, I have used almond milk in my coffee, and the brands she has pointed out. Make sure it is unsweetened, as they make sweetened versions of those where they add sugar.

I'm lucky, I'm able to put heavy whipping cream in my coffee.

I can't speak to the flavor or anything else, but I just bought some hemp milk to try. It seems to be lower carb and higher fat than almond milk.

I think some use almond milk - in small quantities it isn't super high in carbs. Of course you'd use the unsweetened one...

i have to say i dont really use a lot of cream. if you can do goat does your local goat dairy have a separator to extract the cream?
goat milk is pretty well mixed and you dont get the top cream you can skim off like you do with cows milk. when my family had dairy goats i mostly used the milk to make cheese...one of our 4-H families had a small separator, though, and we would separate out the cream for ice cream and whipped cream.
doesnt hurt to ask!

Hey All!

So I have a dairy allergy and have to use dairy alternatives for the most part. I can handle small amounts of goat dairy.

Coconut milk/yogurt/etc is far too sweet and I don't like the taste/texture. Unfortunately, it seems to be the go-to alternative for heavy whipping cream.

Any other suggestions for alternatives? Are there alternatives?
