Heading off to school in new clothes. My daughters and I spent about 2 hours trying everything on and liked most of it. We're all wearing something from the bag this morning.
Hope everyone's weigh-in went well!

Today I weighed in and I maintained. I'm a little upset that I didn't have a small gain, but I did have a bit of chocolate over the past couple of days and I have also switched up my ST program (I just blogged about it if anyone wants to check it out!).

Today was also my treat day, which is only just a trreat meal...but it did kind of turn into an all day thing. I didn't eat anything until 2pm so I was starving and we went to Wendy's. We halved a bacon blue hamburger and got a Jr. Bacon cheeseburger each, plus we split a large pop and a large fries (my fiance had 2/3's of them though). I didn't get to have my Jr burger till supper tonight though. Then it was on to the mini eggs, my piece of light cherry cheesecake from Easter Sunday and the last small cadbury bunny from a 35 gram pack :( I gave my cadbury cream egg to my fiance but I still have 3/8's of an white easter bunny left. I'm giving 2/8's of that to my fiance and saving the other piece for next Tuesday. I feel so gross though! Ugh!

I'm realling going to be working hard this week though. I want a big loss for the next WI. I want to get as far away from the 190's as possible, so wish me luck!

MUGWHUMPS-Way to go on hitting your first goal! That's amazing! Hope you found something that you really liked in that bag of clothes :)

Mary Ann-Wow, what a beautiful way to de-stress! I'm going to try that tonight as I'm falling asleep :) Thanks for the tip :)

I made my first goal!! 15 lbs before the DC trip. 15.4 as of this morning and I don't leave until Friday. One of my friends at school noticed my weight loss and brought me a garbage bag full of hand me downs in smaller sizes. She has great clothes! so they are all beautiful. Having fun tonight trying things on.

Hello, everyone,
Another beautiful day! On my way shortly to visit a little preschool. If you have little kids, you have to get the book "Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes". It's a hit every time! Of course I make a silly fool of myself singing to the kids, but they love it!
Have a fabulous day!

Good Morning,
Went to Nashville for the weekend to visit my daughter and her husband in their new house. It's so cute! They did well. It's on a cute little rural road, lots of flowering trees (heck on the allergies, but beautiful!), and they really love it.

It's Opening Day for baseball here in Cincinnati, and there will be a parade and big Reds ball game. Working downtown, I'm expecting a lot of traffic and people today. At least they'll be down here on for postive reason. I'll miss the game, but not the enthusiasm. In the classes I visit today we will be singing "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" with a terrific pop-up book. It will be fun.

Tiffany, I am so sorry for your troubles. Stress is not good for health or for weight loss. I am so sorry!

Hang in there, everyone. Just close your eyes and go on a virtual trip to the top of Mt Everest and leave unwelcome guests, bread-eating dogs, and all unpleasantness at the bottom of the mountain. It's the only way I can get through some things -- such as one of the cats jumping into my newly emptied suitcase last night and using it as his litter box. Augh. I don't understand! But I can't let it get me down.

Sending happiness!

MUGWUMPS-EEK! I think I would have cried had that have happened to me. But you got through it :) Good job :)

As for me...I had the Easter from hell! My sister's bf, who is not suppossed to ever show up on our property or around me and my fiance,...decided to show up. It's a little complicated as it's my dad's house and we rent the lower level...but the police said that I had rights as a renter and this guy has violent tendencies. But even my father agrees that this guy is not to darken out door. As soon as I saw him, my heard jumped right into my chest! I warned him first to get off of our property or I will call the cops. He didn't leave, but also didn't say a word to me. Anyways, he stayed for a good half an hour but I was told that he just wanted to power a "tool" off of my father. I ended up calling the cops and he is being served a tresspass notice ASAP. I had the option to do that last time, but chose not to as my father didn't want me to. But with this mess up, that was the first thing I did. The cop took forever to get here, but after that we went right to my fiance's parents house. What really sucks is that my family (father, mother, sister, brother, fiance and I) were to have Easter Supper that my fiance and I spent all day making :( This guy always ruins what's good for us. So now my family is in another uproar as my mother is sticking up for this bad news guy and my dad is upset that it had to come to this. So am I, but I need to protect me and my fiance...and my dad. Anyways...I'm hoping that Easter Monday goes better than Easter Sunday...wish me luck :S

What a couple of days it has been. I made the communion bread yesterday. Got home at 10:00 last night to discover that my husband let the dog out of his crate and left the room. The dog ate the communion bread. Wasn't sure which one I wanted to kill more. Hubby was smart and went to the store and bought a loaf.
Had to get up early this morning to go hang the easter banners which requires carrying the 12 foot stepladder. Sang in the choir (Halleluiah Chorus), and did two readings. Now I get to relax for a few before I go to my 3 hr community choir rehearsal this afternoon. It never ends.

Rebecca-Feel better soon :) Colds are always nasty things to deal with :(

THUNDERCAT-Prioritizing is always hard, but when you want something so bad, it definitely has it's way of working out for the best :) I also have the same problem with overthinking things, making them more complicated in the end. Especially when it comes to exercise. If I think about going for a walk too much, then I find reasons to not go for a walk. I have to make decisions in a blink of an eye so that I kind of trick myself into going right then and there. It's hard not to think of it though lol :P Good luck in simplifying the plans. Let me know if you need any help :)

Also, thanks for the well wishes for my father and our family. They're greatly appreciated :)

The protein powder that I have is called Perfect Whey and it's the Vanilla Cream flavour. I really enjoy it mixed with some Fat Free/Sugar Free Choc. Pudding mix. It makes it pretty chocolatey, which I like ;) I also tried it the same way but with a Tbsp of all natural peanut butter. YUM! But yes, you have to find the right kind of protien powder. My mom didn't like the vanilla in that brand, but she did like the Mango Pineapple flavoured one. My fiance doesn't mind it vanilla, but only if it has the peanut butter and choc. pudding mix. They're both really fussy though lol :P

My day went pretty good today. I went for a long walk with my dog and it was close to 19 degrees out! Whew! I'm really loving this warm weather! I probably shouldn't have walked so long as, from yesteray on the eliptal, my legs are killing me. Now they're super sore :( I was planning on doing Tae Bo tomorrow...but I'll just have to see how my legs are then. Maybe just a short walk ;)

Have a good night everyone and I hope that the Easter Bunny is good to you in the morning :)

Tiffany,
I am glad to hear that that the swelling is going down. That is definitely a better sign. Also, that you are able to not worry about the things that are not in your control. My prayers to you and your family that he progresses well.

Not sure, I like the protein powder. It could be the one I had wasn't too good. I got it form the nutritionist for a sample and I didn't really care for it. Then again, of course she never told me anything about fixing it up with some other stuff. If I could have something that tasted remotely like a reeses cup,and still be nutritious, I think it would be worth it.

So sorry you are dealing with the issues. Hang in there..I hope they get the range problem solved. I hate things liek that. For me it would be that the range is not working causing the problem it more dealing with getting it resolved in a timely manner. That is scary to have an allergy like that and not be aware it's in your food. I wouldn't even think to ask if it's something at a restaurant. It seems like soemthing that would nt be used on a regular basis unless they specify it.

I watched this weeks episode and was not happy with the elimination or the comeback. Makes for some interesting competition though.

Good morning
I have been going through a few weeks of trying to get my head together again. I know what I want to do, it's setting those pritoities that are key. I think I over complicate by trying to set up plans but without them everything runs amuck. Just need to simplify the plans.

Dropping in again - read a smidge but now I have a cold. Nothing seems to be working in my favor right now. Tomorrow is supposed to be a long training run but I will not be doing that since breathing is enough trouble. The group is having a yoga session and I will attend that. Making up training will be after I feel better.

Finally watched the episode too. Wish we had the daily deal like Australia. Then we would know who is really playing games and who isn't.

Hi Everyone,

Just stopping by right quick to say hi and to let you all know that I posted my end of the month results from March. Check it out!

My trainer gave me a serving of her protein powder to try, it was really good. She's had her jaw broken a couple of times so she really knows how to spice them up and turn them into low fat, high protein deserts! She gave me a vanilla one to try but shook in some low fat sugar free choc pudding mix and turned it into a choc shake. She said if you add a tbsp of natural peanut butter then it will taste like a reece bar. If you add unsweetened cocoa and some peppermint extract then it will taste like a peppermint patty. I'm soooooo getting some protein powder! lol :P

Thanks Mary Ann, I hope so too. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if his heart is ok. I'm trying not to worry about it right now though. Worrying over "nothing", or at least nothing that I can control at the moment, doesn't help. I'll let ya's know more when he gets the ultrasound done on his heart though. But his fluid does seem to be going down a bit with the fluid pill that he's on! So there's a bit of good news :)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good Morning,
Beautiful morning, promising to be a gorgeous day. Alas...I work in the basement with no windows, but I'll find a reason to go outside today.
Rebecca, I too am allergic to nutrasweet/aspartame, and I am a little frosted as well that often we are unaware that it's in something. I ordered a strawberry iced tea at a restaurant, and when my lips started gettting numb I realized there was aspartame in it. More awareness is needed!

Tiffany, I hope your dad it all right.

I just discovered this "unposted posting" on my computer, 3 hours after starting it!
Busy!
Later, friends,

Rebecca-If it rains it pours, eh? Just take a deep breath and say "I can get through this". Take one problem at a time. It could always be worse, so try to see the good things that are happening during this trying time you're going through :)

Alicia-I still get like that too. I'm a big time "couch potatoe". I think that if I think too much about my exercise that I don't get it done as I have more time to think of reasons to procrastinate. But I do understand it being a comfort in some strange way. Changes take time, but it's good that you're realizing what you're doing ;)

I didn't get to go to my Step class tonight as I had to take my father to outpatients. His feet are swollen to the point where he can barely fit his boots on, his left hand is numb, his high blood pressure is through the roof even with medication and his kidney stones are acting up again. The doctor is thinking that the fluid "could" be related to heart issues so he's trying to get an appt for a heart ultrasound asap and he's getting dad's family doctor to keep an extra close eye on his blood pressure. God I hope that it's not due to his heart. My fiance thinks that it's something to do with his blood pressure medication. I hope he's right.

Anyways, took my measurements before I took him over. I'll take my pics tomorrow and post them soon afterwards :) Night everyone!

Haven't read a thing yet. Just wanted to tell everyone that chaos is back at my house. New over range oven came, was installed, doesn't work. More headaches.

Yesterday I was sick from consuming aspartame accidentally at a Passover seder. Wish people would identify sugar free foods- this was jello.

Ok, have to dash off. No good news on the weight loss. Stress is driving me to the junk food. ugh.

Good Afternoon,
Had a meeting this morning, and afterward I felt like I had been released from detention or something and just went walking around downtown. Ended up getting an Arby's roast beef sandwich, since my favorite little Quizno's closed.
Suz -- so sorry! Sending hugs and healing energy (and anti-boredom energy as well)
Tiffany -- proud of you!
Alicia -- I'm right there with you. I, too, find comfort in pretzels. Especially unsalted ones dipped in hummus. yum Please don't feel bad about it!

Suzz... omg! Feel better soon! Tiffy- great job at working your butt off! Wish I could say that!

I'm sitting here munching on pretzels and watching Idol. Sometimes the "couch potato" in me still creeps in. It's a shame how it can be such a big part of you that's just so hard to let go of. It really is like a comfort in some strange way. Why is that???

SUZZZZQ-Oh wow...that's horrible! I hope that you heal very quickly!

TIGERLILLEE-You make perfect sense ;)

So I got in a really great workout this morning. Spent the day keeping my fiance's mother company while my fiance, his brother and father went to town. All we did was talk, talk talk! I'm worn out now lol :P

I got ingredients for a really healthy chocolate pudding. You can eat this and probably lose weight! It consists of avocado, banana, unsweetened cocoa, raw honey, vanilla extract and unsweetended coconut. It's not as sweet as normal chocolate pudding, but I just added another tsp of honey. It's really good for a sweet tooth...and it's full of great things! I'm so excited about it :)

Tomorrow I take my monthly mesurements and take pics, so I'm hoping that I see positive results as I've been working my butt off all month. Wish me luck!

I'm guilty of being one of the ones who haven't been around lately. I haven't been on in two weeks. I even missed the last two weigh-ins! No reason really, I just kept forgetting to weigh in before the deadline. As for the team thread, I have just been pretty busy around here lately and not making it a priority like I should.

I gained a pound since the last time I weighed in, which, in the grand scheme of things may not seem like a lot, but it's still a gain. And it reminded me how important accountabiliy is in this journey. It's so easy to lose focus! I may not have made a lot of "bad" choices, so to speak, but just not keeping track of everything can be worrisome when it's time to get on the scale, ya know? You start replaying everything in your mind. Even if you didn't do really bad, it feels like you did because you can't be sure that you didn't!! Does that make sense?

Awww, that really sucks Mary Ann :( It does suck that certain things can never be simple :( Have a nice cup of tea (or whatever) and put your feet up.

So I've maintained this week, which is good for me as I've had my TOM. Next week I'm expecting a loss for sure! I'm still super excited to be out of the 190's emoticon

I'm not feeling well as I have a bad cold, but I'm still planning on going for a walk later as long as it doesn't rain. Workout at the gym super early tomorrow with a friend. Wish us luck!

Happy BLC Tuesday all!

PS: Where is everyone lately? The board posts are getting fewer and fewer all the time. Anyone seen my partner Monique around?
