Berry Mango Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 young coconut
1 tsp vanilla
1 mango
1 cup blue or blackberries
1 lemon (juiced)

Make coconut milk by blending the water and the meat of the coconut with the vanilla
Add the lemon juice and mango and blend until smooth
Pour into 2 cups. Fill them only half full (leave the rest in the blender)
Add the berries to the remaining mixture in the blender and blend until smooth
Using a spoon, carefully pour the blue smoothie over the yellow smoothie creating two layers.

Enjoy!

Jalapeno Watermelon Limeade
Yield: approximately 3.5 cups Prep Time: 35 minutes

*approximately 4 cups/32 ounces cubed seedless watermelon, tossed into a blender
*juice of 2-3 seeded limes (or lemons) the amount of lime/lemon juice you use is really up to you...I would add the juice of 2 limes/lemons, taste, and add more if you like
*tiny pinch of sea salt
*1 jalapeno chile, sliced into 1-2 inch pieces (seed it if you want a mild spicy flavor)

1. Blend the watermelon until smooth (you will end up with about 28 ounces). Add the lime juice and the pinch of sea salt and blend again.

2. Drop in the sliced jalapeno and allow to infuse the watermelon limeade for 30 minutes or so. The flavor will become more pronounced the longer you leave the jalapeno in...be careful when you are tasting the drink as you don't want the raw jalapeno to make contact with your lips.

3. Use a slotted spoon to remove the jalapeno pieces and save in the refrigerator to make another batch of the cocktail. Blend the juice again before serving, then pour into glasses over ice.

Total Green Goodness Smoothie

1-2 Peeled Cucumbers
Handful Italian Parsley
Large Handful of Spinach or Kale
Juice of 2-3 Lemons
Optional: Quarter Cup of Water

This recipe can be juiced or blended. However, I prefer to blend this smoothie as to keep the fiber.
Cut up all ingredients and blend in a high-powered blender like a Vitamix.
If you use a regular blender, this will not come out smoothly. A high powered blender will make this very creamy and smooth.
Spritz in more lemon juice if you want it to have a bit more of a kick. you can also add in a sliver of fresh ginger.
Sip, breath, and enjoy! Feel the goodness spread within your system!

This recipe is created for you with love by FullyRaw Kristina!

It depends on how you want to look at it. My Green Smoothie is what I eat for a meal. They are generally between 32 and 48 oz. depending on the amount of greens, fruits, and water I add to my blender. I usually add 3 to 4 cups of greens to mine and 16 oz. of water. You can divide them into 8 oz. servings or drink the entire pitcher as I do and call it breakfast or lunch.

Am I to assume they are for one serving?

Seems like a lot.

Cranberry Lemon Smoothie
By Martine Lussier
Yield 5 cups (2-3 servings)

I love this smoothie because it is both refreshing and a little tart. The goji berries and Young Living Lemon essential oil adds extra nutrition, and the zesty tingly taste of pure lemon essence!

Ingredients:
10 ounces frozen cranberries
2 large bananas
1 orange, peeled
cup goji berries, soaked in 2 cups warm water for 30 minutes
4 drops of Young Living Lemon Essential Oil

Blend all ingredients (using the goji berry soaking water) using a high speed blender until smooth.
Relax and enjoy!

Thanks for all the great recipes! I can't wait to try some of these! I actually already love green smoothies (my favorite right now is kale, frozen bananas, almond milk or coconut milk, and a little agave nectar) and I have just a basic blender...once I can spring for either the Vita Mix or the Blendtec I'm sure they will be even better!

lol.

So I just had:
1 banana
1 cup coconut milk (unsweetened)
1 tbsp almond butter
1/2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp honey
few dashes of cinnamon

SO GOOD!!! I didnt really like the coconut milk in cereal, and cereal is not raw so I was about to throw it away then it dawned on me to put it in a smoothie this morning. I love it and my jet engine blender did not wake anyone up in the house emoticon

OK, I take it back. I take back every bad word I have ever said about green smoothies. I just got a blendtec blender and had my first ever real green smoothie (compared to the chunky nasty things I have made in the past with my old blender)! It was just spinach and banana and some water. I am in love!!! I'm so sorry I ever doubted the green smoothie : )

Per Travelnista's Request here it is.

I copied it from Jamba Juice's menu it's the

Morning Sunrise

1 scoop of frozen strawberries
1 scoop of Frozen Bananas
1 srvg (2 Tbs.) of Peanut Butter (I used sunflower butter)
2 oz of apple juice
a few ice cubes and blend.

Top off with organic granola (I purchased a big bag from Jamba they actually sold me their organic granola it's low fat and it has oats, sort of like a rice crispy, flax seed and pumpkin seeds)

Not completely raw but you can make it raw by making your own peanut butter and apple juice.

Enjoy!

green smoothie

processed in blender (love my blendtec!)
1/2 c or so of water,
1/2 cucumber,
handful of parsley,
the following greens in any combination, just grab whats on hand: I use more kale, less chard and even less beet.
kale, swiss chard, beet greens,
frozen banana, cut up
several sprigs of mint, this is really the must have ingredient
sm pc of peeled ginger (or not, it's to "heat" up the body)
several dashes of Ceylon cinnamon (not cassia species- to lower blood sugar and cholesterol)
this smoothie really fills me up. I have some in afternoon to kill cravings

Brava for your creativity! Thank you all for sharing with us.

I will include some of them with the powder supplements I use. It will be a good start, that's for sure.

i have been using supplements from Purity Products for the past several months and they have been absolutely wonderful! The product line comes highly-recommended by my trusted healthcare professionals, and now I know why after all these years. I'm trying to figure out how to include them in my nutritional information daily with the nutritional breakdown. I have five - greens, reds, oranges, purples, and oranges. I get so much more of everything good and feel so good including way more stamina than ever before since I began using them. Thank you, DH, for allowing this into our budget, at least for the time being. Yes, it is a little expensive, but it is oh, so worth it! They have everything you could imagine at www.purityproducts.com, and they also give freebies for spending over a certain dollar amount - cool incentive!

One more very important thing I need to note is that it is all-natural and yes, organic. They also come out as smoothies, etc.

"HONEYDEW EGGNOG" (for lack of a better name...)

I swear it tastes **just like** eggnog!

This is so simple, so amazing...you have just **got to** try it!!!!!!!!

Cut 1 whole Honeydew Melon in half, de-seed, then cut away the peel. Cut remaining melon into chunks & throw in blender. (Vitamix if you've got one.) (If the melon is super ripe & really easy to scoop out you don't need to cut away the peel. Just scoop melon into blender as-is.) Add LOTS of cinnamon, 1/4 or so the amount of nutmeg (to cinnamon) into the blender with the melon and then blend. What you'll get will be the most sweetest tasting, frothy, eggnog tasting HEALTHY, lo/no-cal raw substitute you can imagine--YUM!!

Note: do *not* dilute this with water or ice!! Don't freeze it either, before or after making it.

Apple-Kale-Lemon-Ginger

4 apples
1/2 lemon
Kale
1/2 inch fresh ginger
Fresh apple juice (from a juicer)

This gives more nutrition by not "watering down" the drink with water. Very good! It's also possible to throw in a couple of oranges into the blender (first!) in order to create enough liquid that way. (Then this would be apple-kale-lemon-ginger-Orange juice smoothie. :) ) You could also add in a banana to either recipe.

Strictly fruit...great combo

2/3 cantelope
1/4 watermelon
2 white peaches
1 apple
a little lemon thyme

Just enough purified water to make the consistency right...thinner than usual. A wonderful combo. Light and refreshing in this hot, horrifically smokey weather we are having.

Wow...Im so happy I looked through this thread because ive been at a loss recently for how to jazz up my smoothies, and thats not good because ive been having them a LOT.

This morning I had my all time fave-

1 or 2 bananas, depending on size
1 mango, peeled
2 cups spinach

Normally, I cant do tons of greens, but the combination of mango and spinach is beautiful. Its a gorgeous jade color too, a nice change from my normal morning brown pond scum.

Im so jealous of you people who have access to kale- im in Spain and we just dont have it here..its crazy. So I use chard instead. Sooo not the same, though!

For a week, I have been drinking this one (with slight variations) daily

1 orange (peeled)
1 lime (peeled)
1 large apple
1 large chunk fresh ginger
lemon basil or basil
Chard...lots of chard...

Add water to fill to top of Vitamix and whir away. I've been making it the night before, filling my quart containers, so it is good and chilled and ready to go in the morning.

hi, Im Mzzchief, and this is my offering. Its more of a base for a smoothie, than anything else. I've got Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, which aside from being a royal pain in the posterior, is an autoimmune thyroid disease.... and the most frequent cause of hypothyroidism.

In my search to find possible triggers for this condition, I ran across cilantro as a detoxificator of Mercury from filings, injections and fish. Sounds good to me. Now I drink a variant of this everyday, I make it in the blender, cuz I figure why waste the fibre?

Cilantro Base
1.half a bunch of cilantro
2.slice of ginger root
3.slice of lemon with rind - no seeds
4.slice of avocado or a few drops of olive oil (to help assimulate any carotinoids)
5. 10 oz of water

Sometimes I put in carrots, red peppers, apples beets, yogurt and adjust the water accordingly. It all depends whats in the fridge that day or how much of a meal I want to make of it. I often mix in some psyllium for fibre.

: )
Cheers
Mzz

Yum! That sounds good! I don't have any access to wheat grass here but I'll definitely be trying this when I go back to the states for a visit! I LOVE kale smoothies! The Dutchies use it plentiful in their meals so it comes washed, chopped and convenient for use.

Here are a couple of my favs from Victoria Boutenko.

Pear-kale-mint
4 ripe pears
4-5 leaves of kale
1/2 bunch of mint
Water

Apple-kale-lemon
4 apples
1/2 lemon juice
4-5 leaves of kale
Water

I made this one as an experiment and loved it:

Mango-kale
1-2 mangos
4-5 leaves kale
water

Hi everyone, I'm new to this team. I try to stay off of the computer as much as possible but I just made this smoothie and had to share!

Wheat Grass/Blueberry/Banana Smoothie

1 cup water
1 fresh (or frozen) banana
3 tablespoons "Just Blueberries" (These are dried, you can use fresh or frozen too.)
1 large handful of fresh cut wheat grass

Blend and enjoy! Next time I may put some protein powder in this because I have blood sugar issues and need to keep it in balance.

I discovered using the fresh grass in a smoothie by accident... I love wheat grass but I had misplaced my juicer in our move. I've been buying the organic wheat for growing grass for my four cats and I decided I should be eating it too. They love the smell of the wheat grass so much they'll come running from the other side of the house if they hear me cutting the grass. They will eat it out of the pot too but they like to have me cut it and feed it to them. LOL Anyway, I put some in the blender with my smoothie the other day and it's great! You get the added benefit of the grass fiber along with the other nutrients. (I have my own pot of grass now that does not have kitty germs all over it.) LOL After a few harvests I dig up the grass mat and put it in my worm bin. They love it too! I can't wait to blend some grass up with some fresh carrot juice.

Have any of you tried Kale in a smoothie? I saw a video on YouTube using kale and bananas.

Have a great day!

Orange smoothie....hubby and I both liked this one a LOT!

1 pound of carrots
2 tart apples
Chunk of ginger (about 1 inch by 1 1/2 inch)
Juice from two limes

Mixed it up in the vitamix and wow. The lime and ginger really came through. It was pulpy from the carrots, but really filling and a nice alternative.

This is one of my faves. I love fruit smoothies in the morning but the sugar rush makes me feeling not so great after a while. I add chia gel to my fruit smoothies because chia seeds slow sugar absorption into the body, thus you won't experience drastic sugar highs/lows.

Banana Kiwi Smoothie

1 banana
4 kiwis
3 tbls chia gel

This is a good recipe to introduce chia gel into a your diet because you can't tell the chia seeds from the kiwi seeds!

* 1/8 watermelon
* 10-12 strawberries
* 1/2 small cantaloupe
* chunk of fresh ginger
* small bunch of Thai lemon basil (tho a small amount of any basil and a little lemon juice would probably do)

Throw it all in the vitamix...It was the best fruit smoothie I have ever had. EVER. (and I usually prefer the green smoothies!)

Peachy & Green Smoothie

2 large or 3 medium sized bananas
4 medium sized peaches or two cups frozen
1-2 large handfuls of spinach
1/2 cup of water

Blend the bananas, peaches, and water; then add the greens until well blended.

The peaches and spinach make an amazing taste together! This is definitely one of our favorite green smoothie staples.

I am adding this to the smoothie section, because this is a great addition to any smoothie. It is a little time consuming but not difficult and VERY yummy. Not like the pre-made stuff you get.

"PURE" ALMOND MILK

1 1/2 almonds
2-3 C purified water (I use two)

Soak almonds for several hours, or overnight. Blanch them by dropping in boiling water for about 10-15 seconds. Remove quickly and drop in cold water. Skins will pop right off, and almonds will not have been heated enough to lose any nutrients.

Put the "skinless" almonds and purified water in a high speed blender and blend till smooth. Strain the almond milk for a smooth consistency (I use a double mesh tea strainer or cheese cloth). Keeps several days in the fridge.

My favorite at the moment is:
Fill the blender 3/4 way with greens, any green, preferably a variety.
Add 2 cups of water
1 Tbsp lemon juice.
2 frozen or fresh bananas
2Tbsp honey/agave

Green smoothies on a daily basis is SOOOOOO important. Victoria Boutenko's book "Green for life" is a great resource. She says 2 lbs of greens a day, but I've done about 1/2lb a day or more for about a year now and it has made a big difference. You really need a high powered blender, but my father in law has been using a food proccesor first for the greens and then adding it to a regular blender, he says that's been working, but the dishes afterwards...luckily he has a dishwasher.

Another favorite for getting through the mid day slump:
3 tbsp tahini
3 tbsp honey
3 tbsp raw cacao
2 handfuls of greens
2 cups water

Enjoy! I do!
