I learned to sew on the one in the picture. I have had a few machines over the years, and now have two, I use both, I used to sew for the kids and grandkids when they were small. Now it is used mostly for crafting and sewing quilts. Would like to have one that quilts. Just got done making Burp Rags and Bibs for upcoming great .

I have both a sewing machine and a serger. Do sewing for the kids and for various family members when requested. Last Christmas I made 5 red flannel nightshirts for my brother in law and my four grown nephews at my sister's request. They were a big hit.

Blessed be.

My Mother had more than one machine and I was taught to use them. Then I took Home Ec (not called that now) in college and aced the sewing course (of course it was a small part of my major).

I received a sewing machine upon graduation and never made an article fit to wear again. However, I always had that machine available for mending. I still have that machine in our cabin - it is old but still works.

Since we have moved a few times through the years, I've purchased at least two new machines that are so much easier to use, (with forward and reverse, automatic threading etc) ..less than $100.00 and so easy to use for mending. (I've bought new and sold in garage sales when it was too much to take with us.)

So now...I'm 80, yet I still have a machine available for me to "mend" and enjoy that...:) I would like to use my machine for other projects, but just haven't taken time to squeeze it into my activities.

Personal goal is to weigh in 159 by the end of May 2019. I did not make my previous goal so must do better...I ACHIEVED THE GOAL OF REACHING 151 IN MAY 2013. A LOSS OF 37 POUNDS! Summer of 2014 I gained 10 pounds of it back while traveling to the BVI's and Ireland so I have set a new goal for 2019 to be back to below 155.

Slow & steady makes a winner of us. Even if we hit pitfalls, get up. Know that a new day is right around the corner.
Try to be all that you can be. Work at it a day at a time.
