I think you did great, Alison. I totally bombed in January, up 3 lbs... but February 1 means a new start for me on the treadmill. Iím starting slowly, but will increase to 2-3 miles/day. Have to be ready cor Disneyland in April.

Week 3 of my OMAT challenge (to exercise more with friends) temporarily stopped when I got sick. I've stayed home to recuperate. 6th day of recovery. I'll try an easy hike when I feel up to it.

My week two OMAT challenge has gone pretty well. I hiked with friends twice, and went to yoga class with a friend.

This month I want to do something every day to better my living space. It can be large or small. I live in a one bedroom condo without good storage, and would really like to cut back on the amount of stuff I have!

January 10 - I've done very badly so far... still sleeping badly, getting up, coming downstairs and eating. I have a doctor's appointment next Wednesday, and will ask for suggestions on non-habit forming medications that might help me sleep better.

My goal for January 2019 is to reduce nighttime eating. This is one of my biggest problems, especially as I am a poor sleeper and often get up to read through the night. Thought about saying I would eliminate evening and nighttime eating, but I donít think I would be successful in completely eliminating this habit. I commit to tracking this every day.

Happy New Year! It's hard to believe it is 2019. Personally I am ready for a new start in 2019! The theme Joy in January is very flexible. Think about incorporating one habit or one small step that will make your journey toward better health more joyful or less stressful. Maybe you can add a system of positive reinforcement for each healthy eating decision or each exercise session. Perhaps some new activity or new way of healthy eating or exercise will make those activities more fun for you.

Personally, I plan to add some fun to exercise by doing activities with other people. I've done more of my activities at home lately (because it's dark early, and it's COLD!); and I notice I am more enthusiastic and energetic about fitness when I am with friends. So my personal challenge for January is: At least three times a week, I will either join a fitness class, or hike or ski with friends. For me, that will make fitness more fun.

What will be your January challenge? Please post on this forum and share your goals, actions, and challenges with the team. Let's encourage each other, and find joy in January!
