It might not be that the computer is going to sleep, but that the USB port is cutting off power to the SyncPoint. Does unplugging it and then plugging it back into the port allow it to light up again?

If not, you can try these steps to see if they help:

Also, if you're using a laptop while unplugged, then you may want to try checking the power settings there as well. Some battery "Power Saver" functions override the settings above.

Interesting thought, though it's not my computer that's "going to sleep" but the SPAT. My computer hasn't changed, and I never had this problem with the first SPAT, just the replacement.

It sounds like a setting on your computer that is having it go to sleep after a certain amount of time. You may need to check your power/sleep settings on your computer to see if that is the case.

This ongoing problem started when I replaced a lost tracker and installed the new one. When I first start up my computer, the sync point light goes on, I get a message that the SPAT is working, and everything downloads and uploads just fine. After about 15 minutes, the sync point light goes out, the SPAT icon grays, and when I roll over the icon I get the "no sync point detected" message. Tapping the SPAT to "wake it up" doesn't work, and I'm not able to get to the place I know exists (but can't get to) to refresh the program. I'm not willing to continually restart my computer to get this to work. Any ideas?
