if you have the hexagonal barbells that don't roll, you can grip the barbells, keep your wrists straight, and push up from there. it even has the advantage of a larger range of motion, since you can get your chest below your hands this way.

I hope your wrists heal up soon!

Morning ladies.

I'd recently transitioned from doing "girl" pushups (on my knees) to "real" pushups. I had worked up to 6. But in the last several weeks,I've developed severe tendonitis (probably carpal-tunnel syndrome) in my right wrist. It HURTS to place my hands, palms-down, on the floor. I'm SOOOO frustrated! Yes, I know I need to get my wrist looked at (and probably will during my school's spring break), but in the mean time, can anyone suggest maybe ANOTHER way of performing pushups that allow me to position my hands differently but still provide the same upper body/arms/pectoral benefit? I have a weight bench and an assortment of barbells/dumbbells, and most ways of gripping weights do NOT appear to aggravate my sore wrist. Suggestions?
