Took my dog for a walk today. I am thinking it is time for me to back away from working in memory care. I will still visit the residents & do activities when appropriate. I love the people but there are other things I need to be taking care of at this time. I am praying this is the right decision.

The longest day is coming up next week. I am not able to join a team to walk but hope to spend some time in the memory care unit with the residents.

Anyone else with plans?

Mom is in last stage of dementia. I have her at home again since Friday. right now every day seems like the longest day to me. It has been real stressful doing this again.

If you want to be happy, desire and pursue happiness more for others than yourself, and your own well-being will take care of itself. Dedicate your weight-loss journey and the achievement of all your goals to someone else and think of them when times get tough.

Does everyone know about the "The Longest Day"?

On The Longest Day, teams around the world come together to honor the strength, passion and endurance of those facing Alzheimer's with a day of activity. Held on the summer solstice, June 21, 2014, this event calls on participants to raise funds and awareness to advance the efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.

As we can not promote fundraisers on Spark - but how about if we promote awareness? Please give me ideas on what we can do to promote the "longest day" and I will post a challenge for it a few days before that day. It can be as simple as you will post on Spark about the longest day to you will promote the longest day in your community or you will walk or exercise so many minutes/miles to honor the longest day.

Let's get this going! Here's the website on the Alz site for the longest day challenge
