Oh that IOWL group and ... is it recordings? looks interesting..... hmmmm..... I joined the group and am looking at the recordings.

I remember when my son was young and I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to provide for him and that would motivate me at times to eat. I had a fear that as a family we wouldn't have enough to eat would cause me to eat more - to reassure myself that I could provide for everyone. Everyone was just me and my son and that was also part of the fear. I think being a single mother isn't just difficult or challenging. For me at least, it was terrifying. The idea that I was the only one for that person to depend on was scary. The truth of it doesn't really play into the perception of it.

I don't have that feeling when I am alone.

There is nothing I can't have tomorrow,so there is no reason to eat it all today."

I read that today when I was trolling for some inspiration.

Grammatically, I don't like that sentence. Double negatives make me cringe. But I like the basic bones of the thought.

Perhaps I would have said, "You can eat anything you want tomorrow, so there is no reason for you to eat it all today."

or switch it to the first person and make it more personal:

"I can eat anything I want tomorrow, so there is no reason for me to eat it all today."

Many of my diets in the past began with a blow out binge, originating from a feeling of scarcity. The unspoken, (or often Spoken) thought is: I will never eat this again, so here goes....gobble, gobble, gobble."

THe parallel thought is:

Eat, Drink and be Merry for tomorrow we have nothing to eat but rabbit food.

However, I'm pleased to report that after a few years Sparking and working on my internal issues, have broken that pattern. (check out the IOWL Team if you need some help with the internal stuff!)

Yeah me!

I (for the most part) approach life from a place of abundance and a realization that I CAN eat anything. My food and fitness tracker will help me balance everything out and even if I have that piece of cake and that martini or two it is NOT the end of the world.

I can "self correct" quickly instead of beating myself up and spiraling for weeks into too much cake and too many martinis before pulling out of that dive.

So if you have not yet learned to live life from a place of abundance, consider that phrase as we enter into the weekend. The weekend is usual time for people to binge with every intention of "getting back on the wagon." How are you going behave this weekend? What is your "night before" Monday (the traditional "I'm going to begin my diet" day going to look like?

Comment on it, blog about it, write it in your journal.

Let us know your thoughts about it and...
