Hey hang in there. We all have bad days. I love your motivation and your inspiration. Hang in there.

From my years of teaching troubled teens, I learned the power of questions. In fact a professor friend said people change their minds while they are talking and open ended, non-accusatory questions are extremely effective.
One young man who had been way out of line in a delicate situation, ended up writing me and the others involved a 2 page single spaced letter of apology when I used this method.

CarolJean,

I hear what you are saying. I got a book on assertiveness for myself - it was recommended by my therapist. I will have that talk with him - that sounds like a good idea.

The situation with your son may or may not last. Now that you feel calm it might be a good time to have a talk with him. Ask him how he felt when you lost it? Ask him what he thinks would be a fair amount for him to contribute to the house you provide.

It took me a few days but I am finally calm. I am so grateful for all the people on this team - all the support - the humor - the intelligence - the generosity of spirit - all of it.

Interesting - I seem to have frightened my son into being more adult - I hope it lasts.

I read your blog and left a response there. You have not only started, but really launched a team of people who see the value of positivity...especially when we have "days like this."

Read your blog. Sounds like it was quite a day.

Give yourself a mulligan. And if you don't want to pick up your pom poms for a while...no worries. Your mojo will return at some point. Be ready for it when it comes!!

XOXO

We all have our off days. Just recently I will ill for two weeks and it lingered because I was being negative about everything that was happening to me and I was becoming anxious. One morning I woke up and decided I could not continue like this and had a long talk with myself about losing my positive outlook on things. . Immediately I improved. I found this group and joined. I do not want to fall off the positive wagon very often as I feel so awful when I do

Keep on track

I had a little meltdown on Thursday. It was pretty scary and upsetting. I didn't really feel like posting here that day and so I didn't. I didn't really start this group because I am by nature a positive person. I started it because I needed help staying positive. So please forgive my craziness.
