Your son will feel better soon, hang in there. You are only human and therefore you can only do so much.

I hope your son is feeling better. It's stressful when kids are sick and I don't know if I could watch teletubbies for any extended period of time - so my hats off to you.

It sounds like you hurt yourself more than anything so ... I hope you feel better.

It's a lot harder to make food from scratch .... always being prepared to be able to make something is difficult ... and then sometimes you're just so hungry ... you don't want to wait even5 minutes.

Have a good one!!

You're a good mama, I hope your little guy is feeling much better soon. Sometimes it's frustrating to be wonder woman, but it sounds like you're doing a good job.

Eating healthy can be so very rewarding, but when you don't have the time or resources it can also be frustrating when it's not a ready option. Next time bread without butter so your tummy doesn't flip might be better. I've even tossed a few raisins into a piece of bread folded in half for some quick fuel. But you do what you can do.
I hope you are all healthy and being entertained by something other than Teletubbes soon!

I hope your little sweetheart feels better quickly!

When you or DH have some spare time, is it possible to make up some soup or chili that you could freeze? That way, on crazy days like this week, you'd just have to take it out and microwave it to have a healthy dinner on the table quickly.

And I hear you -- sometimes healthy food just doesn't cut it emotionally.

I hear that. I sometimes have days when I just don't keep on top of preparing my meals and snacks. I just want to go out and enjoy the weather. Because of my food allergies, I can't just pick something up on the go. I end up getting so hungry, I don't even know how to feed myself. I know. It sounds both sad and silly. A grown woman who can't figure out what to eat. But it happens. I have to go to hubby and let him know what's happened. Then he often starts trying to find out what I will eat. I get so picky then that it's almost impossible to get me to eat again.

You can not change yesterday - it's done.
You can only dream of tomorrow.
The only day you can change is today.
What are you going to do today to reach your goals of tomorrow?

It's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard is what makes it GREAT

I guess it's a pitfall - but not of massive proportions. . .

We essentially eat healthy - no processed foods - mostly everything from scratch (not all - as much as I'd love to make my own pasta - time, time time is the problem).

This week our little boy has been sick. Being sick when you are 2 and can't say much is rough. Normally he loves his mama - I am happy for that - but when he is sick, there is no good that can come from anyone but his mama. He won't let his dad hold him or his sisters. Yesterday I had to lay on the couch with him in my arms and lap while watching a Teletubbies video - over and over and over. My mind cannot handle that much fun! I was itching to go do something - be active - but every time I shifted my weight he would cry out "mama, mama."

I finally put my foot down and walked away to go to the bathroom - he followed me in there - crying as if he had just lost his best friend - and wouldn't let go of me. He is feeling a little better today - but he usually gets worse by afternoon. Hoping he gets through this soon - not because I don't enjoy hugging on him - but I'm trying to start the 5% challenge and need to set goals, etc. I'm not one to achieve anything if I don't plan.

Oh - the pitfall - yesterday I was fortunate enough to make a good breakfast. It was after that - that he started feeling worse and my date with Teletubbies was confirmed. Dh took the kids out bike riding (before bothering to see if they had eaten) - they got back by 7 pm and none of us had eaten since breakfast. Instead of saying - hey, let's get something from outside (there are some healthy options) - he says "make dinner." Well, I couldn't put the little guy down so dh makes tilapia. I don't know how he did it - but he made it taste worse than eating mud. I was so hungry I was having visions of a nice salad - some fresh flatbread topped with tomatoes and feta cheese - some warm soup. Instead . . . mud. Ugh. To top that off - I was so hungry when they left that I went into the kitchen to see what I could find - nothing but some bread slices and butter. In case you don't know - I can't have dairy. I ended up eating it - my stomach is still thanking me - but it was either eat that or bread and ketchup or mustard.

Sometimes eating healthy sucks. Sorry, but it does. Because if you make everything from scratch - it is hard to quickly make something on days like these.
