I love these exercises and I know I can do each of them. My instructor has them in her plan on Mondays. I am starting my 60 days tomorrow. I have already been to the gym today and did a ton of cleaning today and am very tired. Today was my cheat meal day. It was a good healthy meal because I needed some red meat.

Each day is a new day! Remember to breath and relax!

It's ALWAYS a good time to start!! We're going to do a special "New Year's Challenge" after this challenge end (which is after Thanksgiving thank goodness). The challenge will last through December with exceptions and modifications for December 24th and 25th, and maybe New Year's eve.

It is 11/4/13 and I am just joining. Hope it is OK to go ahead and start with only ~ 30 days to go.
Basic Assessment
Jumping Jacks 52
Push Ups 16
Sit Ups 16
Squats 27
Step Ups 30
Football Sprints 39 seconds
Ski Jumps 27

I am exciting to get going again. This assessment really showed me how far I have to go.

Taking a year to lose 50 lbs!

I'm so sorry. For the squat down/jump up, you first do a squat. While you are squatted down you jump (as though you are bending your knees in order to jump up into the air).

For the burpee, you first jump up with your hands in the air, as though you are trying to touch the ceiling. You then bend down into a squat to touch the ground. From there, you jump back into push up position. You then jump back into squat position and then up again! That one is a little complicated lol, so I've copied a link below.

So I just got around to doing the base assessment, but better late than never, right? I had nothing to step up onto, so I skipped that measurement. The rest are as follows:

Jumping jacks: 72
Push-ups: 4
Sit-ups: 15
Squats: 38
Football sprints: all 60 seconds!
Ski jumps: 56

I'm most hoping to improve my push-ups and sit-ups.

STEP UPS: simply step up onto something and step back down

FOOTBALL SPRINTS: Bend your knees and spread them a little more than should width apart (as though you are going to squat, but not that much) and quickly jog in place. Hold your hands out in front of you as though you are going to catch a football.

SKI JUMPS: Feet together, knees bent, arms at 90 degree angles. While keeping both feet together, jump up high to the other side (you can put a broom or some object down to jump over).

Modified

ONE-LEGGED JUMPING JACKS: Extend one arm into the air and step out to the side with that same leg, then switch and continue to alternate.


KNEE LIFTS: Lift up the right knee into a 90 degree angle, and then the left, and so on.

- Sit down and stand ups (sit in a chair and stand back up again)

- Jog in place
- Step Overs (lay down some object and step over it)

Record how many that you are able to do and post. You can post how many you hope to be able to do once you begin to improve your fitness!!

I understand. Instead of jogging you can do more knee lifts at a faster pace I suppose. Otherwise, you can omit this particular exercise. The remaining exercises do not require that you jump or run. The one-handed jumping jacks are just you raising one hand in the air and extending that same foot out to the side. And then alternate. Does this help?

Great challenge....question

I see the modified, but some are still higher impact than I'm supposed to have for my back. Are there additional modifications? I am not supposed to do a lot of jumping or running.
