Starting over again with wk1 because I haven't been feeling well the last couple of weeks. The arctic chill here in Chicago has reeked hell on everyone! Started again today by choosing healthier foods to much on. Tomorrow, I'll be hitting the gym & running errands!

Did a 30 minute dance/walk video, shopped in two different stores parking away from building for quite a few steps. Have just finished helping DH with some firewood. Only about 15 minutes, but more steps as well as carrying the wood. Guess I have done well for today!

One thing that has really helped me this time around is pictures. I take pictures of my progress every single week to keep me motivated. So far its been working and today it really came in handy when I stepped on the scale and noticed that I gained 4lbs.

I felt a bit disappointed at first but then looked at my pictures and realized I actually gained muscle!! Soo fellow sparkers.. its all about those pictures! They really helped me so I'm sure it will do the same for you =D

I have decided to post a video and definition of a russian twist just in case you are all wondering how to do this exercise

http://www.fitsugar.com/Seated-Russian-T
wist-2768700

To perform the Russian Twist, first, one should sit on the floor with knees bent like in a "sit-up" position. The feet should be kept together and slightly above the ground or put under a stable surface. The torso should be kept straight with the back kept off the ground at a 45 degree angle. Arms should be held together away from the body in a straight fashion and hands kept locked together like a ball or one can hold a weight to increase the difficulty. Next, the arms should be swung from one side to another in a twisting motion, with each swing to a side counting as one repetition. The slower one moves the arms from side to side, the harder the exercise becomes, working the abdomen that much better. When moving one's arms during the exercise, it is crucial to not stop between repetitions or else you will lose the effect of working the abdomen. Constant breathing in and out during the exercise is important as one should not hold one's breath.

Well, unfortunately I have to switch from the advanced to the beginner challenge starting this week. I will also do a C25K with it to make it more challenging since my fitness level falls between the two. Maybe next month have an intermediate challenge? emoticon

I dropped 2#'s this week...was refreshing adding those exercises this week. It has been years since I did jumping jacks... like in high school and I am going to be 65 in July. Brought back how fit I used to be and lots of good memories. Will continue to do these again this coming week. tomorrow is my rest day.

Really great week total progress. I have stayed on my diet every day this week, plus did all the exercise except for one day...... felt a little bad two days.... the results have been awesome. My weight is down, we'll see if I can record it tomorrow or not because I had gone up in weight prior to this challenge.

I am very happy with my results. Hang in there everyone. A little progress is still progress! Celebrate your success.

A year from now, you will wish you started today.

If you exercised when you first thought about it, you would be finished by now.

Suck it up and one day, you will be able to suck it in. *All quotes from my wise friend who lost 98 pounds.

Ok, so I thought I'd join this challenge. Only to realize, I didn't have a starting weight for Feb 1.
What I do have is mixed Jan/Feb results. So my personal challenge is going to be to loose 10 lbs. As of today, I've lost 3 lbs. Waist has gone down 3 inch, hips have increased 0.5 inches. Exercise for the week is 160 minutes. I want to track weight and inches. Some weeks don't see scale change, due see inches change from workouts. Doing walking, dancing, yoga and zumba.

Will weigh in tomorrow morning, but last time I weighed I was down slightly. Have done my walking video each day and starting to feel like everything is tightening up. I will take it. I am not allowed to do exercises with weights, and was cautioned to be careful with muscle building exercises. (The reason for a lot of my neuropathy was very tight muscles.) I sure don't want to lose any muscle, but I also want to make sure I exercise all my muscles without strengthening some but not others. So far I am making steady progress with my pain issues, so I think I am doing the right kinds of exercise.

So I got really sick the first week of challenge. My teenager brought home the Norovirus and no one but me ended up with it really bad. I do not wish this type of bodily torture off on anyone. So I finally weighed myself this morning and found that I have lost 7lbs since Sunday. WELL when you only eat broth and drink water for 5 days I guess that you will lose weight. Still my appetite is not back no energy for exercise and I still have to play Mom/Coach for at least 2 more days then I can rest. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise and kick started a way to filter out the toxins and start back on whole 30 diet.

Doing great with first week of Feb. fitness. Will do my weigh-in tomorrow to see if I have dropped any pounds.
