As this weekend rolls around, we find St Patrick's Day on Sunday. MacDonald's has a treat that they only bring out for a short time period around this date, called the "Shamrock Shake". When I was younger and lived in the city, this used to be a favorite treat, and I always loved when this time of year rolled around, so I could have one any time I wanted to.

A recent Daily Spark Blog gave me some more information as to exactly what the breakdown of all the calories and content is in one of those shakes:

In a SMALL (12 ounce cup), there are 530 calories, which is more than the McDonald's Quarter Pounder with Cheese. A real eye-opener.

I'm not saying don't enjoy one. I'm just saying that you should educate yourself first, and then make the best choice you can. Perhaps sharing one with your kids is a better option!

If you are in the mood for something green, try the lime greek yogurt - it is wonderful!!!
