Thanks Jan for the congratulations. The ladies of RED TEAM really banded together through this challenge. I am excited about all our weight loss. It was a total of 57.7 pounds collectively.

To change your weight loss ticker, go to your start page and on the left hand side under your nutrition and fitness tracker buttons is one for weight and measurements. Add your new weight to the weight tracker and your ticker will update automatically.

this is such a wonderful team, i was wondering for the new challenge when we sign up if the teams are going to stay the same or if we will be split up? being new I'm not sure about that.
I love the walking and my youngest asked me today if i could walk him to school every day or at least 3 days a week. his school is 2 1/2 miles away. i told him we will have to see. I alos have been depressed today because i realized that tomorrow is my 8th anniversary and even after the divorce isn't final until next month I find I am sad and dont know why. I had to watch what I ate very carefully today.

So glad that you have all been walking and working it for the RED team!!!

Shawn, I agree that the walking is great and a fun way to get in touch with nature. I will be adding it to my regular routine also, but I won't be able to do it everyday once school starts. But, it will be a treat when I get to do it.

I am seriously bummed out today. My brother left for college today and is going out of state. I hope he does alright. I have spent the last 2 days helping to get him ready to move into an apartment. Because of that my eating habits have slipped a little and my water consumption has slipped a lot. So, I woke up today and weighed myself and I have gained some. Talk about being ticked off! But, I worked out really hard today and have drank oceans of water and have been peeing like crazy, so maybe if I keep it up, I will still have a chance.

Hope all of you are doing really well!

Red team red team where did you go? Jan I have been walking 2-4 miles a day I just have been having busy days with my kids so I dont always got to post until late. I am hoping that I lost some and didn't gain. cross your fingers... GO RED TEAM HOPE WE WIN!!!!!

Hi!
The challenge runs through the 15th, so I would guess that we would all weigh in first thing on the 16th and post our ending weights. Or, if you'd rather not post them to the boards, SparkMail me and I will tally the total and report them.

I am really proud of the hard work that the RED team has put into this goal and with every step each of us has taken, we have stepped toward better health, regardless of the scales. Personally, I would like to see inches lost as well as pounds, because I bet we've firmed up some, also.

Keep on walking, keep on believing! It ain't over yet!!!

Sorry, team. I gained 1# this week. I have done my walking every day, but my dr. changed all my meds last week. I have been really bloated and am pretty sure that has something to do with gain.

Just get back on the wagon today. We all have our bad days. We didn't get the way we are by having 1 bad day, we got here by having months and sometimes years of bad days. As long as you now recognize when your bad days have happened and correct them. you are making progress. Keep your chin up girl, we have all been there. I can probably guarantee it. emoticon ,

Must be something in the air or the wires... my computer was acting insane for two days and half the time I couldn't log on anywhere.

I did walk every day though INCLUDING this morning BEFORE I went to take my boards!! WOO HOO.... That is a huge step for me (no pun intended) because I would have typically just stressed out all around the house till it was time to leave. But I knew I had to walk for my mental self. So it is really nice to be getting the benefit of mental clarity with the added addition of physical health.

okay so much for a family adventure. we got ready to go for a nature walk to the playground and hten my son had his friends show up and ask if they could play. I guess they dont like walking with mom. at least i can walk alone. we also planned to make rice crispy treats but that also ended in me doing them alone. oh well gives me a reason not to eat them.

okay i'm checking in.. I have been walking every day. as today is the 10th I am alittle worried that the meds I am on are making me gain no matter how much exercising I do. I want to say right now I am sorry if I dont help us win. I have been also trying to work out 3 days a week but haven't noticed any changes. I hope I do start losing I only have 5 days left to help out.

Sorry I haven't posted my walking. I have been doing it every day. It is,I'm sorry to say,to the point that I can't complete it at one time. I need to break it down into a few sessions a day. I have R/A and Fibromyalgia and the walking aggravates my hips and lower back, but I refuse to let them stop me.

I am glad to report that i still got to walk even after spending most of the day at the hospital with my son. (see my blog if you want to know what happened) everything is okay and i will be on my way to posting my food and my workouts tomorrow.

Hellooooooooo all you fabulous women! I am posting late tonight. Happy to report that I got a walk in today. In between the crazy rain we have had. I actually decided to take a break from studying at home and thought I would walk to the library and study there for a bit which I would then walk home from. Walked down there in the soupy, muggy afternoon to find that all the computers were taken and the lady working there was a very nasty person who should have gone for a walk with me to calm herself down. But I didn't suggest it cause I didn't want her mojo messin up mine.

While I am walking, I am not eating very well right now. Stress has totally taken over my eating and I am on over drive. I am trying to bring on fruit bowls and other harmonious foods but the evil ones are still getting in there. There is just to much stress right now and not enough time for me to learn new methods of coping. So I do what I can to get through right.

Alright...enough rambling.... I am burnt out!

HAD SOME COMPUTER PROBLEMS YESTURDAY BECAUSE IF THE THUNDER STORM. I DIDNT GET ANY WALKING DONE, THE WHETER WAS HORRIBLE BUT I DID JOG IN PLACE FOR 25 MINS.... I HOPE THATS ENOUGH, I WILL CATCH UP TODAY.

I did my 2 mile walk. and wall pushups but i can't do wall squats or leg extensions so I am sticking with walking.

Don't you just hate it when the scale is being evil? Surely this is a hormonal water fluctuation. Plus, I was reading an article by Coach Dean and it was talking about people holding some water when they ramp up their fitness programs. The water goes away when the body is used to the added activity. We are right at a week into our challenge, so maybe that is what is happening. Our bodies work hard because of extra weight, but add in some serious workouts and we create physical stress.

I may not know a lot, but I do know that if you stay the course that the weight WILL drop! Don't give up!!! You're doing great!

Jan thank you for the encouragement. Reading encouragement from this list helped me after my scale nightmare this morning.

I am really mad. I got on the scale and had gone up 7lbs!!! I am guessing it was from eating at night last night but man that smacked me in the face. I think it also has to be premenstrual water weight mixed in there. It better be or I am just going to cry.

That's good advice! We can't strength train every day. We have to have recovery time. Good job on keeping up with the challenge, also!

Zen:
I'm so glad that you were able to get out and walk after all. That plus the extra stairs you climbed taking care of your little one surely made for a great workout! I agree that I feel much more mentally refreshed when I work out regularly.

RED team, we can do this. We ARE doing this! WE ARE GETTING HEALTHIER BY THE DAY!! This has got to be the best team ever. Keep it up, everyone!

*WHEW* Ok.. lots of up and down the stairs today AND I just got home from my power walk. I have to say that I am just so thankful for this challenge. I would not have done this if it was not for the challenge. Now I am finding that this walking is so critical to not only my physical well being but my mental well being. I had just completed a 150 practice exam and I was exhausted so much so that I didn't want to finish reviewing the exam. I got up, got out of the house, went for a walk and now I am home renewed and sweaty.... OK well who the exam doesn't care how I smell so I will finish reviewing it and head into the shower before cuddling with big daddy tonight. Don't want to offend him *wink*

Thank you ladies for all the kind words... WE CAN DO THIS!!! GOOOOO RED TEAM!

GREAT WORK RED TEAM

It was brought to my attention that some people are doing weight lifting 5 days a week. and yet they see no improvements like they want to. over the years I have learned from my personal trainier that the most over looked part of weight traning is the resting aspect. if you weight train and then dont give your body time to rest then you are over training and hurting yourself more then helping. if you are doing 5 days a week of training its best to do a split routine to give muscles time to rest or do just 3 total body workout a week. you can make progress but the goal is not to hurt yourself in the process... dont forget your water and have a wonderful rest of the day
