Whenever I add protein and omega 3 fats with my meals, I stay satiated for longer periods of time than if I was to only eat carbs.

I either have a large cup of coffee or Dole Mandarin Orange cup at night when I'm wanting to snack. Sometimes I add Reddi Wip to my orange cup. It's only 15 calories for 2 Tbsp. Sometimes I just have a large glass of COLD water and that does the trick but not always.

The best way is to eat 4 to 5 SMALL meals per day.
I am doing a new challenge if any of you want in? Spring Fling

This will be teaching you want to eat, when to eat it. .....

With all that house work, you must be working up an appetite. Are you counting your housework towards your exercise goal?

I break my lunch (or dinner depending on work schedule) into two parts. I eat half around noon or one and the rest an hour or two later. Also popcorn! I get the lowest calories popcorn I can find (15 calories a cup), and use it to help with my urge to snack in the evening. It's not exactly the best snack, but it is a whole grain and more filling than the amount of chips or crackers I can eat for the same calories.

Its crazy emoticon yesterday I was constantly hungry, but did my best to eat healthy and stay in range. Today, I have been too distracted with major scrub down in my home, that I most likely have eaten under my range. We have an appraiser coming to our home on Monday afternoon, so my plans for painting ceilings and prepping bathroom walls with Kilz took a back burned. I have been cleaning since 11:30 am till 7:30 PM non-stop. I have scrubbed walls, floors, baseboards, doors, you name it I have scrubbed it. I did make sure to keep sipping water. So, it seems if I keep myself distracted with a major task and not just every day stuff and exercise I don't get so hungry with that nawing feeling.
Oh, I filled the car yet again with more stuff to donate and bags of stuff that went into the garage.
Anyone else dealing with snack binging by doing major spring cleaning or home improvements?

Hey, I bought celery this evening with some flavored cream cheese to use for a healthy crunch snack.

Yeah, having the same problem here, esp. around 9pm. I want to eat salty crunchy out-of-the-bag kind of snacks. Bad. So, I reach for celery and sea salt. Then I'm done.

Thanks I will keep that in mind. I am thinking I might invest as a reward after I completely redo with home improvements 3 rooms. I can get chia seeds at work in smaller quantity than SAMS Club since I know they don't have a long shelf life, I believe.

I bought the Ninja Kitchen System 1200 on Amazon and love it so far. Be careful as the blades are really sharp. I Aldo add Raw Chia Seeds to my smoothie for the added protein, omegas and fiber!

I have never thought to do that with salad mixings for a soup base. I am thinking of getting a Ninja or something along those lines blender, since the old one we have is not cutting it any longer for making smoothies.
Any suggestions on what would be considered an good blender, with easy set up and clean up?

When I buy my salad mixings. If they are starting to go bad, I put them into a blender, blend then pour into ice cube trays for later use. I have a ton of beet juice from where I bought fresh ones in the summer. :D
I have also used it as a soup base.

I bought a book called "The HEalthy Green Drink Diet". It had a lot of great information. I just create my own smoothie using what I have on hand and what I like.
Your base is whatever greens you like such as: Spinach, Kale (But the list could go on)
Your liquid is whatever you like: I use unsweetened almond milk (about one cup)
I always first blend my greens and liquids to help break down the greens.
I like to add a half a banana. It adds a creamy nice texture (but this is optional)
I then add the fruit, fresh or frozen.
I have also used V8 diet juice for my dessert green smoothie.
Apples, Pears and Kiwis are my favorite blend to add to some fresh strawberries, blueberries or Raspberries. (the skins stay on but the core and seeds I take out)
I usually add some sort of a frozen berry or fruit to help make it cold, some people use ice cubes for this final step. Sparks People has a lot of smoothie ideas as well as just googling on line, although the book I mentioned gave me a lot of helpful knowledge, Thanks for the encouragement! emoticon

Make sure you are getting protein in your diet. This will keep you fuller longer.
I have a fitness page on Facebook, Sandra Ault Fitness
and on here I do Nutrition Tips.

I also do shakes....but Shakeology. This give my body what it needs, so I am not hungry.

Your hungry might be that your body wants water. Make sure you are drinking 1/2 your weight in water.
There are many diff things that could be going on.

I live in Alaska so to answer your question I don't plant my own veggies. But I do buy from a local farmer. I don't have a green house.

Try adding a lot more veggies to your meals, you can eat a lot more of these for a lot less calories. You might want to watch and see if you have certain foods that trigger you to be hungry after eating them?
I personally have a lot of trigger foods that I try to eat only on special occassions vs nightly. I get most of my daily carbs from my veggie and fruits and have found myself not hungry. I also took on the Green Smoothie a Day for 30 days challenge Jan. 1st and have not missed a daily smoothie yet. I found the smoothies completely satisfy me and also have completely satisfied my sweet tooth. I have lost 31 pounds since Jan. 1st eating only healthy foods and exercising and I am amazed on how awesome I feel. I have energey I never dreamed I would ever see again.

SO, I've been adding in the fruits and veggies to meals, watching portion size, methods of cooking, and tracking but I am finding myself hungry emoticon I am trying to stick to my weekly goal of burning at least 2000 calories but listening to my body's hunger issues I see myself eating higher up in my range than last week. Kind of worried when it comes to my weigh in on Saturday because I am eating at a higher range. Today, I found myself very sleepy for the morning and had issues staying focused. My goal was to get my son to school and if I still felt depleted to take a short nap, which I did. This helped and I made sure to eat a banana with some coffee as a snack.

UP side of this week- I am enjoying adding the new veggies I picked up to the family meals. Just finished off the rest of the sweet kale and swiss chard stir fry as my lunch and LOVED eating my steamed spinach at dinner. Heck, I've always been a huge spinach fan and yes, I watched a LOT of Popeye growing up. Proud that I opted to eat steamed brown rice and the steamed spinach with my tilapia tonight instead of the baked fries I made for the guys. Hoping I can continue to find the right balance I need to feel satisfied yet burning enough calories to form the deficit needed for the scale to go down. One thing I learned to distract yourself from eating, come up with a home improvement or spring cleaning plan and initiate it. I got the bathroom cabinets painted, next is repairing any loose ceiling tapes in those 2 rooms and painting the ceilings in the bathrooms and laundry room with mildew resistant paint. Figured its the best call since those room would get the most humidity. Goal is by next weekend I have both bathrooms totally repainted with new color schemes to go with the new bathroom accessories I've put on layaway and plan on getting out by next weekend. Then I can cross of 3 rooms in my home!
Wondering if anyone is planning of planting a garden or containers to help keep their costs down and more fresh produce coming in their homes? I sure am.
