Hey, Nan, I'm with you about a/c. I'm looking forward to the break we're supposedly going to get so we can have the windows open again!

I'm not losing, either, but that's because I've been off my meal plan too much in July and August. Too many birthdays, vacation, and other things to celebrate. I know we're supposed to pick something else besides food, but that's how we celebrate here. I have maintained, though, until this last week. I'm not stepping on the scale until Tuesday or Wednesday! Back on track on Tuesday, though, because I want to achieve my goal! Good luck with your meeting!

THANK GOD FOR AIR CONDITIONING!!!! We very seldom use it because we like our windows open, but this week it has been on every day.

How is everyone doing with health issues? I just can't seem to lose any weight, but am maintaining. Next week I meet with the dietician at the Y, which may help.

I can't believe how fast this summer is going after wondering for so long whether it would ever really get here! I beautiful day today, though, but with hot and humid on the way, I hear. I hope "they're" wrong!

Rock Island schools started classes today, so I was glad to see cooler weather and cloudy rainy skies. My granddaughter was excited to return to school, meet her second grade teacher, and see her friends again. I even snuck a Twinkie into her lunch bag, remembering all of the lunches I packed for my girls with Hostess treats in them. Now they blame me for their poor eating habits!!!!!! emoticon

Having trouble staying on track myself, during the the month of July. Events, weather, work, you name it. We'll be away for a few days which will mean trouble with my normal regimen again. After that, I'm hoping to get serious again and see those pounds disappearing! I hope we all see those pounds disappear!!

I guess I need an added incentive like your vacation to eat healthier and exercise more often. I was doing so well a few months ago, but slowly slid away from tracking my food. I also have been negligent about going to the Y, walking, and doing weight training three times a week.

I have felt so sluggish with the weather changing as often as it does around here. One week I'm wearing a sweatshirt while cooking and baking. Then the next week I'm craving potato salad and popsicles!

Trying to get some of my weight off for our vacation in September. Hoping to make the total of between 20 - 25 lbs before Sept 11. About half way there now. So my fingers are crossed.

Initial Goals:
1. Get back into my previous weight loss jeans.

2. Meet my fiber requirements 5 days a week.

Now that I am finally exercising for the first time in 23 years I have decided to set these weekly exercise goals.

1. Walk or go to the gym 3 - 4 days a week.
2. Strength training 2 - 3 times a week

JJ, keep up with the walking! That's great!

Michelle, nice to "hear" from you again. Hope everything goes well with school. It's crazy how early it starts now!

Nan, I have been having the same non-moving scale issues as you. However, I have been very good this week, and if I continue, I might see my first new weight loss in several weeks. I'm trying! All those July events really got me, but with only a 3.5 pound gain, I'm not complaining too much. I just want to be able to move my ticker again!

GREAT TOPIC......ambitious August! I sure hope to get more ambitious, as July's weather made me sluggish. When rain and cool temperatures hit I started cooking comfort foods and baking sweet treats. I also spent less time at the Y. Needless to say, my weight isn't budging.

How exciting for Michelle to be returning to school. t seems too early, but my 7 year-old granddaughter is so anxious to meet her teacher and see all of her friends again.

JJ, I'm glad you are walking. That is the best exercise.

Getting geared up to go back to work (school)...have a training session for working @ registration next Monday and Tuesday--I get to help parents use the online registration process as I understand it. This will be the first time I've been asked to work for registration.
The summer has gone WAY too fast, and yes--the weather has been fantastic! I plan to enjoy the weekend. Have a great one everyone!

Hello Team! It is August 1st, 2013 and this year has just flew by. Our weather has been beautiful and is a great time to get out and be active. I hope everyone is having a great week. I know that some of you have kids and they are starting school. Some are starting today and other will start next week. I hope that everyone can stay on track with their journey of eating right and getting healthy. I have been walking everyday around my neighborhood as long as it is not raining. Can't wait to hear about your ambitious endeavors for this month.
