The infection and the meds can make your fur baby lethargic. It's body is telling him to rest right now. He'll be better soon.

Medications can affect animals and people differently depending on how old or how sick they are.

If the vet has given you the pain pill I'd definitely give it to him, dogs are pretty stoic and never look like they are in pain even when they are. Definitely keep up with the antibiotic until they are all gone as well, if not you could end up with a resistant bacteria that you can't get rid of.

If your Vet ok'd the pain pill, I would give it to her. Our dog had to have minor surgery for a sticker that got stuck in his paw. He had antibiotics, and pain pills. The pills might make your dog tired for a couple of days, but once she feels better, she will be back to normal.

May I always be the kind of person that my dog thinks I am.

Hi everyone! I've been on Sparkpeople for years but I've never been too active, I'm hoping to change that. I wish I weren't having to ask a question about a sick baby, though. My sweet Josie has been licking her foot and now it's infected. She wasn't feeling good yesterday but I assumed it was because I gave her a pain pill and it made her tired. Well I took her to the vet this morning and we got an antibiotic for her foot. Well she is still very lethargic and I haven't given her a pain pill today. Do ya'll think it could be from her foot? I worry because she's 13 and has cancer, although all her cancer check ups have been good. Thank you for any feedback! :-) I look forward to getting to know this group!
