Gain energy from 1 vitamin C-rich food today. emoticon

How to do it
Add a food rich in vitamin C to one or more of today's meals or snacks. There are plenty of options, including red or green bell pepper, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, strawberries, kiwi, cantaloupe, and papaya. Or get a liquid dose with a glass of orange, grapefruit, or vegetable juice.

Why it matters
A deficiency in vitamin C may deplete your levels of carnitine (a substance that helps your body burn fat for energy) by as much as 50%. As you'd expect, that can make you feel a lot less energetic! Many of us don't get the C we need, so adding one vitamin C-rich food can help you bring those levels up and keep you going strong throughout the day.

Fun Fact
Linus Pauling, a biochemist who promoted megadoses of vitamin C (and took 3 grams a day himself) is the only person to receive two unshared Nobel Prizes, for Chemistry and Peace.
