Add 1 new type of leafy green veggie to your shopping list, such as kale, spinach, or cabbage.

How to do it
As you write your shopping list, add one new leafy green vegetable. There are lots of healthy choices, such as: kale, collard greens, broccoli, Swiss chard, spinach, and cabbage. Lettuces are another tasty way to go green; romaine and red- or green-leaf varieties are much healthier than iceberg. (None of these choices new to you? Add one that you haven't eaten in a while to your list instead.)

Why it matters
Leafy greens are great for so many reasons! They are packed with a wide range of vitamins and minerals, including A, C, E, folate, and calcium. They provide fiber, which helps fill you up and aids with healthy digestion. Thanks to their antioxidant properties, it's also believed they may help to prevent some kinds of cancers. By buying a leafy green you've never eaten, you may discover a new favorite.

Fun Fact
In 2012, Alaskan Scott Robb made the Guinness Book of World Records with his heaviest-ever cabbage, which weighed in at 138 pounds (62 kg).
