1) Expand your vocabulary Expand your vocabulary starting today. Find a ‘word of the day’ website and write today’s word in a notebook. Use that word in 5 different sentences, 5 times each day, while speaking or writing to 5 different people.

2) Try a new book genre Shake up your reading habits this week by reading something other than your usual choices. If you love new best sellers, try a classic novel. If you usually read nonfiction, choose a mystery. If you read only fiction, read a memoir or self-help book.

3) Do a crossword puzzle Crossword puzzles keep your brain sharp! You’ll find free ones in your newspaper or online.

4) Write a rhyming poem This will get your brain in gear. When you’re done, give it to your child, your spouse, or a friend...or post it on Facebook.

5) Test your visual recall Walk into a store, a friend’s house, an airport, or other place that’s not somewhere you typically are. Look around. Close your eyes. Recite five things to yourself that you remember seeing. Once you get good at this, raise your bar to 7 things, then 10 things.

_____ Clean your computer. Get a can of compressed air to blow out and clean all fans. Use a damp cloth or disinfecting wipe on your keyboard and mouse. Clean in between keys with a damp Q-tip.

_____ Clean remotes and telephones. When is the last time either one of these frequently used items was cleaned? Use a damp cloth or a disinfecting wipe to clean both.

_____ Clean out your microwave. Clean the sides, door, and glass plate of your microwave. To loosen hardened debris, fill a microwave safe bowl with water and add a tablespoon of vinegar. Microwave for 3-5 minutes on high. This will loosen the debris, making it easier to wipe up.

_____ Donate shoes that hurt when you wear them. No sense wearing or hanging onto shoes that are painful.

_____ Refresh your exercise routine. In an exercise rut? Create an entirely new routine this week. Shake up your normal patterns with something new, like swimming or biking.

_____ Say good-bye to 10 books you'll never read again. Bring them to your local library or used book store.

Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6 NKJV
