I love the tip about how to clean a microwave. I'll give that a try.

1) Scrub your barbecue Scrub your BBQ inside and out. Remove the racks and scrub them (use hot water, soap, and SOS pads).

2) Scrub your oven Whether it is self-cleaning or not, it's a good time to clean out your oven. Make sure the oven is cold first. Use vinegar and water on the door. Scrub the racks in soapy water. If you don't want to use chemical cleaners, mix vinegar and baking soda in a spray bottle instead.

3) Scrub your microwave Fill a microwave-safe bowl with water and add a tablespoon of white vinegar. Place the bowl in the microwave, turn on for 1 minute at a time up to 5 minutes until it steams up the walls. Remove the bowl, and wipe the walls and bottom with a paper towel or a rag. If the glass tray still needs cleaning, carefully remove it and scrub it in your sink, dry it, and put it back in.

4) Scrub your shower If it has been forever since you’ve given your shower a good cleaning, now is a great time to handle that job. Depending on what your challenges are (hard water, grime, soap scum, etc.), do a quick Internet search to determine how to tackle the issue...and then scrub it clean.

5) Scrub your vinyl floors Either get down on your hands and knees and clean by hand, or use one of those mops with a scrubbie mechanism to help you clean anything that is sticky or gummy.

___ Attack some paperwork. This week, focus on attacking paperwork like unpaid bills, important documents to file (tax information), school papers and children's artwork, or a week's worth of mail on the kitchen counter. Just getting started is halfway there!

___ Give 5 unwanted items to charity. If you have children, involve them too. You may even surprise yourself and donate more than you expected.

___ Do one thing outside of your comfort zone. Try a new exercise class at the gym, speak in front of a group of people, write one chapter of a book, call someone and ask for forgiveness, sign up for a local theater workshop...something that makes you a bit nervous about doing. Doing so will open a new world for you.
